Matthew was quite interested in what Sahara was doing and found himself quite entertained.
He saw her point and saw her say âleaveâ or âgoâ and move on. His dearest wife didnât seem to like wasting time!
Yet, what was his answer?
An enemy, then that enemy has two enemiesâ¦Was there more than three lots of people, or just threeâ¦But does it matter? Were they also our enemies? What is she trying to ask!?
But the people sitting in front of Sahara were starting to slowly understand what Sahara was doing as well and spent an extra amount of time to make sure of their answer.
âCould it be that we could become allies with one of their enemies?â
âPass, give your name to Matthew.â Sahara stated.
Actually, this answer was better than she had thought. She had only hoped to hear something along the lines of who are the other enemies? Or, will those enemies be a problem for us as well? Or something like thatâ¦
Adding this extra of becoming allies with them was a bonus! It looked like they were being extra careful with their answers nowâ¦That was good! Perhaps there were only the thinkers left now?
Sahara hadnât noticed, but a few people had discretely left, not having a clue on what was going on, so it had narrowed the field a bit. Butâ¦The people who left were angry, thinking that this was not how things should be done!
Didnât she say she wanted to give everyone a chance to see what theyâve got? What was this!?
â¦Sahara didnât particularly look for a âcorrectâ answer, she looked for an answer that showed someone thinking before âacting or talkingâ. She wasnât too sure if this was a good way to go or not, she wasnât too sure if they will hate her after this, but nonetheless, she was sure this would help bring out quite a few names to help Prince Seth find someone good enough to help him.
As another hour went by, Sahara was slowly running out of ideasâ¦She had no more military ones left at all and had to think of other types of ideas, to know if they thought about their answers. The main thought to think of a question, was to get them to answer in a who, what, where, why, when or how kind of way.
Why is it so important? What type of person could attempt that kind of thing? Should we perhaps think, where instead of why? When this happened, why couldnât they have done this instead? How does that make any sense!?
Sahara thought some of the âquestionsâ were stupid, but somehow, they ended up looking okay. She knew she wasnât all that smart, yet she felt sure that she was smarter than some of the people who attempted to answer her questions!
Actually, even though some of them who left might have been someone who may have been okay and could use their heads, Sahara knew this wasnât the end. If they had taken this seriously, they wouldnât have had to leave, but if they want to be someone so badly, they will fight for it next time. No doubt there will be some kind of test once a year or so, so that they could prove themselves yet againâ¦And those who spat out answers in an uncaring way, may actually be people we couldnât be put in charge of lives anywayâ¦
Nonetheless, Sahara didnât think she was disrupting too much of a future here, as she had already gotten so many names alreadyâ¦
Sahara grievously looked at Matthew now and asked if he had any other âquestionsâ.
Matthew smiled at her and got up before the crowd.
Watching him take over, Sahara was really quite impressed with Matthewâs questions. He seemed a lot more resourceful than her!
He had been a Prince and knowing about problems with a Haven was something he had to fix himself, so of course he had questions that he could most definitely use!
Problems such as water, food and people, came into play and Sahara was in awe! Honestly though, she was a bit unhappy, only because she probably would have had more questions, if they were from Earth. She could have talked about countries and oil or coalâ¦But countries didnât apply here, as they were Havens, and they didnât seem to know about one another, then oil and coal? What was that? If it was used, it wasnât used for cars, power and whatnotâ¦
Nonetheless, through Matthewâs own past of fighting with the Crowned Prince, he put out a few instances that he had personally gone through and people started to get really serious, because the questions got harder!
After a few questions from Matthew, a few just got up and walked away, surprising Sahara completely! She thought that she should have just got him to do this in the first place!
But, if things had happened like that, Matthew wouldnât have known what to do! Having seen her and over time understand what she was doing, he was able to take over nowâ¦If he had come here before Sahara, he wouldnât have known how to start to get names so quickly and get people to leave as wellâ¦
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
He was always so proud of Sahara, always overcome with what she could do, looking closer to a goddess or a divine being, that he feels he must always cherishâ¦Because if he doesnât, she may just leave him!
Putting in plenty of effort, it wasnât completely to help do this âtestâ, it was also to obtain her attention, to show her that he was worthy of being her man!
Andâ¦He disliked how some particular people here in Purple Haven treated his lovely, beloved goddess, having seen them not responding while he had watched her asking questions!
Soâ¦He would not back down, continuing her work and claiming these âdisrespectfulâ peopleâs attention by demand!
Sahara had also noticed that quite a few refused to look like they were paying attentionâ¦But now, they showed some panic and even started to look a lot more interested now that Matthew was asking the questions.
Sahara knew about their gender issue with her, but what was she to do?
She canât do anything about it, so she has had to move on whether she wanted to prove herself or not. Since she no longer cared what they thought, she would tolerate the âgender issueâ to a point, as long as no one was getting hurt and she was not taking it to heartâ¦
What she liked even more though, was that Matthew seemed to have picked up on what she was doing and making them think!
He was so cool!
Sahara smiled dreamily at Matthewâs back and then found her stomach growling at her.
She was indeed hungry!
Food was actually something easy to worry about, well, except for the fact that there was a shortish of itâ¦But there were other issues that may not be something so âeasilyâ taken care ofâ¦
The women still remaining in Purple Haven, had not wanted to go beyond swimming, which showed that they werenât ready for a relationship as of yet. Most of their families were now gone, so having the âparentsâ not here to choose their future partner and having Sahara around all this time, gave them enough courage to just wait for a while.
Sahara had talked to a couple of them and told them that since they had no parents, that they should still hold their heads up high and not think that itâs the end of the world. Of course, when one is mourning the death of their loved ones, this type of talking can be seen as harsh or uncalled for but Sahara did mean well by it. Sahara wanted them to focus upon surviving and being grateful for what they still had, so that obtaining anything else would be something that they could smile for butâ¦Not everyone feels or wants to act that wayâ¦
Sahara remembered reading so many books, upon how marriage was the biggest priority for a woman back in this sort of era, also knowing that their virginity should be kept until their wedding day and about reputationâ¦But, Sahara simply stated that since their parents are sadly gone, what remains is their own choiceâ¦And so, the males have been told that the woman who can and want to marry, are free to choose at this time, because of what has happened to Purple Haven.
The man had not liked this at all and cultivation bases had been blocked once again, because of such a decisionâ¦But, Sahara was sure that if the woman werenât able to choose, then they would just be taken by forceâ¦And Sahara had always hated how women were treated in this era, before having even come here in the first placeâ¦So, until the Emperor was to return, to change it himself, those were the rules.
While she was here, she was providing safety to all of them, and that included safety from themselvesâ¦
It was a huge change, something unheard of, yet it was to state that the small number of remaining women had some rights, when normally they never had rights!
Only two were already married, one having lost her older husband, and the other had tried to do the least amount of work possible, as she had been considered a noble prior to the fall of Purple Haven. But she still had to work, as her cultivation base was already blocked and already been seen through the lie that she had not been pregnant when she had claimed that she had been so that she could get out of work.
Sahara had learnt to be the most stubborn when she had a child in her previous life. Kids pushed and pushed, and that was how she kept this lady under wraps, by never giving in to what she wanted. Again, Sahara didnât remember her real name, but made up one for her like she had with âwannabeâ, her name was âlagging pingâ.
And the other ladies didnât want a partner because they did not want to regret getting married to someone who wouldnât be important and grant them a future that they would not like. It was the thinking of the world back on this day. Which person will be best for the family? How will I live with them? In modern day Earth there probably were still such ways of thinking but many started to want a life with someone they loved instead. Sahara knew she couldnât just change their way of thinking so the only thing she could do was help them stay true to waiting until they are readyâ¦
One or two ladies were from a brothel and had indeed used their services, but Sahara didnât feel right to stop that completely. If the brothel ladies wanted to continue their services, even though they werenât using currency still, then that was their choiceâ¦Yet Sahara made sure it was done in a respectful way, so that no harm would come to the ladies that could help in a small way for the men to remain calmer.
So, the population of Purple Haven had been put on hold for quite some months and didnât look like it would grow very quickly. It really did remind her of a specific show about the human race running away through space to find Earth, while being chased by their enemyâ¦
Nonetheless, knowing that Prince Seth should be here in about two weeks, things may change slowly and within the next year, Sahara was sure that these women will marry but will probably be fought overâ¦Since there wasnât that many of them.
It was a predicament, and while Sahara thought of it, she wrote below all the names given to her so far from this âtestâ, that the women remaining in Purple Haven may need some extra protection even after the Prince arrives, because there simply wasnât enough!
Currently, it wasnât too much of a big deal. Sports helped a lot, then they were still farming and now finding talents, but when things start to slow down again, after finding permanent workers and Ministersâ¦Sahara was afraid that the women left may be put in a situation where they will have no choice and possibly lead towards them being killed in a jealous crossfire.
After all, men have the natural want to reproduce at times. And these men were still more like scavengers then gentlemenâ¦Will they just take a woman, even if she was happily married?
Perhaps not all of them, but Sahara could see itâ¦The small chance of that kind of futureâ¦If they at least thought about it now, even if it wasnât going to happen, it would still be worth itâ¦
Soâ¦Until the Prince arrives, at the very least, the women here were able to stay single and keep their virginityâ¦With the odd one or two that hadnâtâ¦Asâ¦There was only so much one can do. Sahara might be able to look at Purple Haven from above, and watch a large amount of people, but she is only human and hadnât been able to stop every bad thing from happeningâ¦
