âMaster.â
âYes?â Sahara asked, not really feeling anything at that moment.
Having Matthew and Kin being brought up at that moment was hard, but she felt like perhaps it might not be as hard as she thought it would beâ¦Perhaps now she can really move on, or whateverâ¦Even now, she felt like she was a lot calmer hearing this voice then she thought she would originally be.
âIt seems that you are still unaware of what is going on.â The voice stated plainly.
âWhat do you mean, unaware?â Sahara asked.
âWe kept you here, with usâ¦We even made your body disappear, and that too of the one that died after you.â
âOh?â Sahara wanted to act like it didnât really matterâ¦It was in the past right?
Wait, what? The one that died after me?
âHe was a loyal Band, you know of him as Band Two.â
Ohâ¦
Sahara was upset that she had brought another to their death. And someone that she had liked and knew was absolutely loyal. He was pretty much in love with Band Oneâ¦
Damâ¦
âMaster?â
ââ¦Iâm here.â
Where else would I be?
âWe did not think that you would take so long to accept your death.â
Neither did Iâ¦
âA lot of time past by and so we are sure no one can help us this time throughâ¦â
Sahara just felt like nodding her head, that no longer seemed to exist.
She also had seen quite a few circumstances upon more and more children being born without spiritual essenceâ¦It was everywhereâ¦People were becomingâ¦Normalâ¦Well normal for Sahara but it wasnât normal for here!
âWe still need you.â
âThen why did you stop talking to me?â Sahara asked. She knew it was her fault, she also knew that she had taken advantage of them, but she couldnât help but askâ¦
âYou no longer believed in us. We were just going to wait until you once again remembered why you did in the first place. We figured that if you remembered about following your instincts, like back on Earth, youâd believe in us againâ¦Butâ¦You ended up here instead.â
âAye, I diedâ¦Againâ¦When can I go? When can I just go out into the void or nothingnessâ¦When can I do that?â
âMaster!â
Sahara became serious, âIs there really no way for this to end? Even if I somehow help you, how is it going to end? Wonât a millennium pass, and humans turn into arseholes once again and fuck you over? Uh? What are you going to do then? Bring me back a third, wait no, a fourth time!â
âMasterâ¦We know it seems like an endless cycle but itâs not meaningless with you. You make it a longer time that we stay in people, you make people stop and think. Last time you were able to talk to us, and you were an empress, so you were able to put some extra meaning into peopleâs lifeâsâ¦â
âCanât I quit? Or, how about you fire me?â Sahara asked in jest.
âPlease Master, I know you are hurtingâ¦â
Sahara went quiet.
Time passed by and Sahara finally said, âIf I were to help, how did you want it?â
âWe want you to go back to Golden Haven.â
Golden Havenâ¦
âWhy?â
âThat is where the power lies, that is the best way to speak to people. Once a Golden Emperor is agreed upon and a constant bond is then entwined with all areas to Golden Haven, it would be a lot easier to be heardâ¦To speak to them, toâ¦Well, we trust your judgement upon what act you will work upon.â
Sahara thought for a moment and knew that that kind of step was pretty huge. There hadnât been a Golden Emperor in a century, or whatever! Such a big step!
Then, she thought of when she did have the chance to try and help but achieved nothingâ¦
Thatâs right, I had four emperorâs and they didnât careâ¦What if such a big step is necessary to try and stop this? And I do I feel like I get nothing out of this?
ââ¦And what will you do for me?â Sahara asked.
Was this like a business transaction maybe? Sorta felt like itâ¦
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
âWe will obviously let you go back as you were, to have the powers you liked so much too.â
Sahara had thought and thought about those powers many times. Had she been better without them?
She had obviously been an eyesore to the Green Haven Emperor, but her powers werenât the problem, but she couldnât help but feel like she took them for grantedâ¦Perhaps it would be best without themâ¦
Not in any hurry to think through upon this proposal, Sahara then thought of if she were to take it then shouldnât she take advantage of this situation?
Perhaps she should instead just stay here and talk to the people from here?
Instead of becoming alive and be able to be killed again, perhaps her existence here instead would prove to be more resourcefulâ¦She had even been able to put forth some feelings into others that were just about to do something. If they were about to bully someone, Sahara would give them what they âthoughtâ they were just about to do to others. It was quite a feeling, to be able to make someone second guess themselves simply because they suddenly were caused pain that was similar to what they might have just inflicted upon someone elseâ¦It was almost like she gave them a second consciousnessâ¦
Soâ¦Because of curiosity, Sahara got to know more about where she was and what she could do hereâ¦It wasnâtâ¦Too badâ¦
Finally, she spoke of her death and precisely what the spiritual essence did to âget rid ofâ her body.
Sahara wasnât sure if the spiritual essence had actually stopped talking for now or if she had just gone quiet and given them the idea that she was thinking things through. Couldnât they hear her thoughts though? Couldnât they tell that she wasnât really thinking things through in a rush at all, that she was being quite leisure about this?
Whatever it was, the spiritual essence gave her what Sahara thought of as space and so she was left free to do as she pleased, for a little longer at leastâ¦
Thinking about a few things and learning some new prospects, Sahara finally felt more herself once again as she connected herself effortlessly to the Blue Haven Emperor.
âHey!â She said.
It was clearly not a good time, as he was in front of people.
She watched in enthusiasm as he was startled, only to wonder what to do.
He wanted to make the best of talking to her, so he quickly tried to state that he had to rush off for a moment.
âAre you still here?â He whispered, after he went into those god-awful historical type of looâs. That was one good thing about this place, no loo required! Sahara couldnât even smell what it may be likeâ¦She had no nose!
âYes!â Sahara whispered in return.
âI tried to talk to you, but you never answered.â The Blue Haven Emperor stated.
Sahara âshruggedâ, âI was busy, I was also given a choice.â
âMaster, you mustnât involve others!â
âWhy not!? If I come back alive, isnât he going to find out anyway?â
âCome backâ¦Alive?â The Blue Haven Emperor asked in shock. âYou can do that?â
âApparentlyâ¦Itâs a spiritual essence thing.â Sahara stated simply. âDonât you remember what I showed you?â
ââ¦Ohâ¦I seeâ¦â The Blue Haven Emperor stated. It still wasnât a normal or common thing at all to have someone come from nothingâ¦
Sahara took a moment, then finally asked, âHad heâ¦Had Matthew comeâ¦To see you?â
That was the first time that she had said his name out loud since she had diedâ¦
âNot since you spoke to me, no. I donât know how heâll take you coming back to life, my dear. From the first time after your death, to the last time I saw him, I think heâs mad at you.â
Sahara let some memories through and found herself happy, at this sad moment. Matthew was a dear part of her life and without a doubt, she knew he would be upset. Itâs sad that he was probably never told about what had happened. It wasnât her fault that she had diedâ¦Yet, if she were to come back, sheâd probably get the brunt of his angerâ¦
â¦It wasnât fairâ¦
âMy dear, you will always have a home here. If your Matthew doesnât want you anymore, you can marry one my grandsonâs!â
Sahara laughed, âYou silly, old man!â
âIâm serious! Iâd love to have you as my woman but Iâm simply too old for that now so grandchild will have to doâ¦â
Sahara nearly laughed again, but said, âWhy not daughter?â
âBecause they are already married, you need to be the main wife, or I will have to endure through your anger!â The Blue Haven Emperor easily said.
Sahara laughed again, this man had done her good and finally helped her accept and adapt to what had been going on!
âI will keep that in mind.â She said happily.
Butâ¦Would she ever really be able to get over Matthew?
â¦Didnât she have a baby to another man on Earth thoughâ¦After loving Emperor Marcus?
Who was that guy anyway? Who was the father of her daughter!? For the life of her she couldnât remember a face, nor a name of the father of her daughter back on earth!
âSahara, my dear, please take care when coming back! You are not allowed to die again before seeing me! Do you understand!?â
Sahara felt herself grow light with wanting to smile, âThen you must also live old man! Donât you die either!â
âIâm not that old yet, my dear! I will wait for you!â
On that note goodbyeâs were said and Sahara then said to the spiritual essence, âWhere is Band Two?â
âThis one.â
Suddenly a faint link or whatever came before her, and Sahara connected to it.
âBand Two?â
âPrincâ¦Princess!?â Came a shocked voice.
âAye, it is me.â
âPrincessâ¦â
Silence overcame them both as they remembered that day once again. Maybe it was getting easier to accept itâ¦
âThank you for trying to save me.â Sahara stated, âIâm sorry you were still killed though.â
âIâ¦I have been here a long time it feels and Princess, I only regret one thing, but that one thing I regret isnât about saving you.â Band Two stated.
Yes, it had been a long time.
Anger can build up and build up but with so much time having past and so much time to oneself, Band Two had come to know a few simple things that kept his mind from going crazy. One was that his life was indeed over and what he had achieved wasnât too bad. The worst was that even if he did want revenge, he couldnât obtain it!
He wished he could tell his real master everything! Oh, how he wished!
He wished he had not been so obvious upon the Princessâs death, instead perhaps being smarter about it and staying alive. But it had been over for so long that the only thing that helped was remembering good things.
Remembering bad things only made him angry!
The regret he had had nothing to do with the Princess at all, no it was about the secret love that he had for Band One. After dying he saw no point in hiding his feelingsâ¦Why had he wasted all that time? When living, it was obviously his job to not think about stuff like that and well, it was also not normal to be with someone of the same sex soâ¦But having died and not let that part of himself out, not knowing what Band One would do or say. Not knowing if perhaps it was worth it because he may have been able to be his lover or to perhaps know for sure that nothing would have happened between them was what made his afterlife somewhat miserable!
âI have been given a chance to come back to life, I want to take you with me.â
âMaster?â
âPrincess? How can it be so? Something like that doesnât exist!â
Sahara stated firmly, âI will come back if Band Two comes back too!â
It was her answer!
They obviously had not added Band Two into returning as well but Sahara could not just leave him here! He had saved her and if she was to return, then so should he! Wouldnât that be like making things fair?
âAre you being serious, Princess? Is there really a chance?â Band Two asked.
âHe must then also be driven to help the spiritual essence!â
âHelp? Princess, who is the other voice?â
And so, Sahara had to tell Band Two about the end of the world, except she forgot he already had an idea about it because of when he was alive!
