ELECTRIC SHOCK SHOWDOWN AT VERMILION CITY GYM

After two weeks of traveling and training our heroes finally arrive at Vermilion City where ash will earn her next gym badge.

The gang looked at the sign in front of them.

It said:

Vermilion City

"Wahoo!~ After two weeks of travelling, we finally made it." Mairin cheered, both hands up in the air.

"Still at a least our Pokémon was able to train well during those days." ash said. Her Pokémon; Chimchar evolved into Monferno and Gothita evolved into Gothorita.

"Vulpix~" vulpix nuzzled her mother leg.

Professor Oak also called them, he was having a field day with all Evolution, he was excited to study Sylveon about her unique coloring. Though he was upset that he couldn't study ash's Brezeon yet, but one day.

"I guess." Mairin said, her Oddish evolved into Gloom.

Alain let out a small smile, his Bagon has evolved into Shelgon.

"Hahaha." Brock chuckled, weakly. "Let's get going to the Pokémon Centre."

The rest of the gang nodded, "Okay."

[Break Scene]

The gang arrived at the Pokémon Centre, after handing their Pokémon to Nurse Joy they all decide to do their own things.

ash, Alain and Brock headed to the PokéMart to stock up some of their supplies, Mairin stayed inside the Pokémon.

The gang was now in the Pokémon Centre Cafeteria, eating some lunch and talking about the Vermilion Gym.

"So have you decide on what Pokémon to use yet?" Brock asked.

ash nodded, "Yeah, but I want to check something first." She answered.

Brock raised an eyebrow, "On wha-" He was cut off by a panic voice.

"HELP! Please help!" A young male voice shouted out, running into the Pokémon Centre.

The gang was curious what happened, so they decide to take a look.

They saw a young boy carrying an injured Pokémon that was a Ratatta. "Nurse Joy, my Ratatta needs help!" He shouted.

Nurse Joy rushed over, "Oh no, not another one." She said, worriedly, "Chansey, bring the stretcher immediately."

"Chansey!" Chansey rushed over with the stretcher being pushed towards the trainer, who immediately placed his Ratatta onto it.

Chansey immediately rushed the Ratatta into the emergency room at once.

"This is the fifteenth Pokémon this month," Nurse Joy sighs, "and they are all from Vermilion Gym." She immediately headed towards the operating room.

The gang heard what Nurse Joy said and was surprised.

"What?" Mairin gasped. "Fifteen Pokémon defeated, already."

"Just this month. I wonder how many Pokémon got criticality injured from Vermilion Gym Pokémon." Brock questioned.

The gang took a look at the other Pokémon that got badly damage from battling in the Vermilion Gym; Oddish, Sandshrew, Caterpie, Butterfree, Pidgey and a Ratatta that was just bought in.

"Eh, I don't mean to be rude, but why use a Flying-type against an Electric-type Gym?" ash wondered.

"I don't think the person did their information gathering." Alain said.

"Uh ha." Mairin nodded, agreeing.

'I think your Flying-type can handle the electric attacks, ash.' Brock thought.

"I wonder?..." ash said, a deep thought.

"What's up ash -nee-chan?" mairin asked.

ash shook her head, "I'm going to ask the trainers who battled against Lt. Surge." She walked towards the trainers whose Pokémon are in the Pokémon Centre.

[Break Scene]

Just like ash said, she asked the trainers all about their battle against the Vermilion Gym leader; Lt. Surge.

"... Well, Lt. Surge is a very strong." Ratatta's trainer began.

Pidgey's trainer nodded, "Yeah and his Raichu is no joke." He added.

"So your up against a Raichu, huh." Brock said.

ash nodded, "Yeah. What attacks did Raichu use?" She asked.

"Well, it used Thunderbolt, Body Slam, Mega Kick and Mega Punch." Sandshrew's trainer answered.

"Huh." mairin blinked.

Alain raised an eyebrow, "Didn't it use any speed attacks like Quick Attack or Agility?" He asked.

Oddish's trainer shook her head, "No, not once." She replied.

"Odd." Mairin said.

'I wonder...' Alain thought.

ash nodded, "Thanks." She said.

"No problem and good luck." Butterfree's trainer said.

ash smiled.

As the gang picked up their Pokémon from Nurse Joy, they exited out of the Pokémon Centre.

"Could be..." ash looked at pikachu, "Hey, pikachu up for another gym battle?" She asked, her partner.

pikachu ears twitched, "Pikapi. (I am.)" She nodded.

"Good, Raichu is your next opponent and if my theory is correct, Raichu is going down." ash smirked, a dangerous one.

pikachu smirked, she heard most of Raichu's attacks and one problem came up.

Brock gulped, "I don't know if I feel sorry for Raichu or not." He said.

Alain shook his head, "ash found a manager problem with Lt. Surge Raichu and its the weakness of it." He explained.

Mairin looked at her brother, "Seriously?" She questioned, looking at ash now.

"Yeah I did. You'll have to watch to found out." ash chimed.

They continued to walked till they reached a tall building with large yellow lightning bolts on it.

ash opened the doors, "I'm here for a gym battle!" She announced, she handed vulpix over to Alain, to watch over for her.

It was pretty dark, till...

"Ah, more victims for the Pokémon Centre." A female voice spoke out.

Two figures revealed themselves; a man and a woman, looking like army soldiers.

"Follow us." They both said.

The gang followed the man and woman, they led them to the field.

"This is where you'll battle our gym leader." The woman announced.

"Lt. Surge sir! A trainer wishes to battle you sir!" The man shouted, like an army solider.

"Another one huh?" A rough male voice, said.

The lights turned on, revealing a tall big muscular man, with spiky hair and looked like a real army soldier leader, he also had a Raichu beside him.

ash looked at Raichu beside the gym leader, she scanned the Pokémon.

[Raichu, the Mouse Pokémon. The evolved form of Pikachu with a Thunder stone. It can shock its enemies with more than 100, 000 volts.]

Mairin and Brock wince at the volt number, "Ouch..."

"So, who's my opponent this time?" Lt. Surge asked, with a smirk.

ash raised a hand, "Yo, me." She answered, casually, not afraid of him.

Lt. Surge took a good look at ash and pikachu, he smirked, "So, I'm battling against two babies." He said, confidently.

"Ah." The gang said.

ash got an anime tick mark, "Oi! Who are you calling babies?!" She exclaimed, pissed off.

"Simple." Lt. Surge smirked and pointed to them, "You two. A little girl with a un-evolved Pikachu."

Both trainer and Pokémon twitched, they glared a him, annoyed.

vulpix glared at him also, she doesn't appreciate the man insulting her mother and aunt figure.

"You know what, I evolved my Pikachu into Raichu here, as soon as I caught him." Lt. Surge stated.

Alain eyes widen, slightly, 'I see.' He thought.

ash thought so, she smiled a dangerous one, the gang could tell but Lt. Surge and his group couldn't tell.

"You know what, your annoying me like a certain someone I dislike." ash continued to smiled, not even picking a fight, but her tone says it all.

Brock and Mairin gasped with mouth open at ash.

Alain wasn't surprised by the words, it was rarer entertaining to watch, its not everyday, ash makes a mess out of someone.

"Pika, Pikapi Pika Pikachu Pika. (She's right, you annoying me with that smug smile.)" pikachu spoke, she jumped and landed on the ground, beside her trainer.

Lt. Surge Raichu glared at pikachu who was on the ground now, "Rai. (What.)" He said, with sparks coming from his cheeks.

"Ches Chespin. (Wah, so brave.)" Chespie sweat dropped.

Lt. Surge twitched and glared at her, "Oh, what are you going to do about little girl?" He challenge.

"Easy. You know what, has anyone told you to never and I mean never underestimate anyone or any Pokémon by their appearance." ash smiled, turned to a smirk, "Let's battle and then we'll see who's the baby after this."

"Pikachu. (Let's go.)" pikachu said.

Lt. Surge stared at ash, then, "Wahahahaha!" He bursted out laughing, "Your a brave one. Hahahahaha! I haven't had a good laugh for a while." He smirked, "Your on kid."

Raichu smirked, "Rai Raichu. (Bring it on little girl.)" He challenged.

Lt. Surge and ash both got ready to fight, they both stood opposite to each other.

The gang stood behind ash of the field.

"This will be a 1-on-1 gym battle between Lt. Surge the Vermilion City Gym Leader and ash Ketchum from Pallet Town. Whoever defeats the opponents Pokémon first is the winner." The man announced, "Are you ready?"

ash and Lt. Surge nodded, "Yeah." They both said.

"Let the match began!" The man announced.

"pikachu, let's go." ash said.

"Pika! (Yeah!)" pikachu entered the battle field, ready.

Lt. Surge smirked, "Raichu, front and centre!" He commanded.

"Rai!" Raichu's sparked his cheeks ready to battle.

"Let's get this battle over with!" Lt. Surge said, "Raichu, Thunderbolt!"

"RAAIIICHHUUUU!" Raichu shot a bolt of electricity towards Light.

"Quick Attack." ash countered.

"Pika!" pikachu used Quick Attack, vanishing from her spot, dodging the Thunderbolt attack, she tackled Raichu.

"Raiiiii!" Raichu cried in pain, as the tackle hit him in the stomach.

"Raichu! Use Thunderbolt again!" Lt. Surge commanded.

pikachu dodged it again, with Quick Attack.

"Use Mega Kick!"

Raichu jumped up and was ready to kick Pikachu with his feet.

pikachu looked up and jumped to the side dodging it, "Pikachu. (You missed.)" She smiled, cheekily.

"Mega Punch and then Body Slam!" Lt. Surge commanded.

ash smiled, "Its time! Go pikachu!" She exclaimed.

"Pikachu Pikapi! (Leave it to me!)" pikachu began to dodge.

[Break Scene]

vulpix titled her head, side to side confused. "Vul~? Vul~?"

"I don't get it. Why is ash having pikachu dodge instead of fighting back?" Mairin asked, confused, watching as pikachu continued to dodge Raichu's attacks.

"Thats the idea." Alain spoke.

"Idea?" mairin questioned, with a frown.

Chespie frowned as well.

"Just watch." Alain said.

The gang turned back to the field.

[Break Scene]

As the battle continued on, pikachu continued to dodge all of Raichu's Thunderbolt, Mega Kick, Mega Punch and Body Slam attacks.

"Rai... Rai... Rai...." Raichu was sweating heavily and exhausted.

"Pikachu Pika. (Tired already?)"pikachu questioned.

"How can that be?!" Lt. Surge shouted, asking in disbelief.

"Its simple, really. Its because you evolved your Raichu too fast." ash spoke up, "Raichu can only learn speed attacks when his still a Pikachu. That's why you're Raichu is sooooo slow, you evolved him before teaching him speed attacks like Quick Attack and Agility." She explained, the reason.

[Break Scene]

Brock gasped in realization, "That's why!" He said, shocked. "Incredible."

"Wha? So Raichu weakness is speed?" Mairin asked, confused still.

"Chespin Ches? (His speed?)" Chespie questioned.

"Correct. Raichu is slow and that's his weakness, in movement. The trainers who battled against them pointed out all the attacks and only attack Raichu used." Alain answered.

"There all direct or distance attacks, none speed attacks are involved." mairin figured it out.

"Yeah."

[Break Scene]

"..." The man and woman was silent, who would've thought that Raichu's weakness and problem was speed.

"Hahahahaha! Your quite the trainer, I've meet a trainer like you, but it finished now." Lt. Surge smirked. "Don't think you can win."

"Bring it!" ash challenged.

pikachu stood ready.

"Raichu! Thunderbolt FULL POWER!" Lt. Surge shouted.

Raichu took a deep breath, "RRRAAIIIICHHHUU!!" He sent bolts of Thunderbolt everywhere.

"Lightning!" ash shouted.

"Pika!" pikachu raised her tail into the air, as the Thunderbolt struck it.

A massive explosion happened, from the all electricity that was caused by Raichu's Thunderbolt attacks.

"Its over!" Lt. Surge smirked.

"I wonder about that." ash said.

As the smoke began to clear up, a shadow figure was in the smoke and it revealed to be pikachu who was standing there completely fine.

Lt. Surge eyes widen and jaw dropped, "H-H-HOW?!" He exclaimed.

"IMPOSSIBLE!" The man and woman exclaimed, in disbelief and shock.

"No Pokémon should be able to stand against that powerful Thunderbolt attack." The man stated, shocked.

"Pikachu Pikapi. (Thanks for the recharge.)" pikachu shook her body, refreshing herself.

Raichu on the other hand was more exhausted and panting heavily.

"How can it be?!" Lt. Surge exclaimed, asked.

"Its easy. Pikachu has the ability Lightning Rod, same has your Raichu."ash answered.

"Ah!" The man and woman gasped.

"Raichu, Thunderbolt again!" Lt. Surge commanded, with a bead of sweat on his face.

"Raiichuuuu..." Raichu's cheeks sparked but... nothing happen, nothing came out.

"What's wrong Raichu?! I said use Thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge yelled.

Raichu nodded and tried again, but the same thing happen again, nothing. His cheeks sparked but nothing came out, leaving Lt. Surge and Raichu confused.

ash smiled and crossed her arms, "That won't happen. You see, you told your Raichu to use Thunderbolt full power, which he did, so no matter how many times you tell him to use Thunderbolt or other Thunder attacks nothing will come out because he disposed off it all." She explained.

Lt. Surge and Raichu looked at the opponent and gasped, they didn't expect this.

"pikachu, Agility then Iron Tail." ash ordered.

"Pika!" pikachu vanished and reappeared in front of Raichu, she slammed her metallic tail into his stomach.

"RAIIII!!" Raichu cried out, sliding backwards. "Rai... Rai... Rai... Rai..." He pant, tiredly.

[Break Scene]

vulpix looked at the field, "Vul Vulpix. (Destroyed.)" She said.

"Ches. (Yeah.)" Chespie nodded.

Mairin looked at Raichu, who was really exhausted, "How come Raichu looks tired?" She asked.

"Its like ash said, Lt. Surge evolved his Pikachu into a Raichu too early and didn't bother to train him to use speedy attacks or have any endurance when he was still in his second evolution stage and that's why his already exhausted." Alain answered.

"Its also out of shape to, not to mention that this might be the first time Raichu has fight this long when its use to doing one hit elimination attacks." Brock added.

"So its tired out already becoming Lt. Surge didn't train it probably?" mairin asked to make sure she understood this.

"That's a possibility." Brock replied.

"Okay." Mairin nodded.

[Break Scene]

"End this with a Thunderbolt." ash said.

"Raichu get out of here!" Lt. Surge yelled out frantically.

"PiiikkkaaaaCCCHHUUUU!" pikachu sent a low power Thunderbolt at the exhausted Raichu.

Raichu was too exhausted to dodge, the Thunderbolt hit him, making him cry out in pain and when he couldn't take it anymore, he faint.

"R-Raichu's unable to battle! pikachu wins!" The male announced.

"Yatta!" ash cheered.

"Pika Pikapi!" pikachu cheered, as well.

"WOHOO!!" mairin cheered, jumping up and down a couple of times, "ash-Nee-chan won!"

"Alright!" Mairin waved her arms in the air.

The Pokémon shouted out happily.

The gang walked towards ash, who picked up pikachu and vulpix, who jumped into her arms and they congratulate her on her victory.

"Raichu! Are you okay?" Lt. Surge asked.

Raichu opened his eyes and nodded, "R-Rai Raichu. (J-Just tired.)" He said.

Lt. Surge chuckled, heartily and then he walked towards the gang. "I congratulate you, ashley." He said, "You gave me a wonderful battle, I haven't had in a while." He held out his free hand, towards ash

ash laughed and shook his hand, "Your welcome and I like the battle as well, just without the baby insults." She said.

"Well, trainers need to be brave from time to time." Lt. Surge said.

The kid sweat dropped, 'He made that up just now.' she thought.

"I guess." ash sweat dropped.

Lt. Surge took out something from his pocket and handed it over to ash, he opened his hand and revealed a yellow and orange, eight pointed star shaped badge. "This is the Thunder Badge." He said, holding it out, "Your deserve this."

ash smile and took the badge, "Thanks a lot. Alright, we got the Thunder Badge." She posed.

"Pi Pikachu! (Badge 3!)" pikachu gave a peace sign.

"Vulllpix~!" vulpix cheered.

Everyone clapped for them.
