SAFFRON GYM; PSYCHIC POWER BATTLE

[Break Scene]

After the festival of Maiden's Peak is over, we now found our heroes back on track, traveling towards Saffron City for ash's next gym badge.

But right now they were walking through a misty forest and it was getting dark.

Mairin yawned, "I'm getting tried..." She said.

"We better find Saffron City soon." Brock added.

ash checked her PokéNav Plus and nodded, "Don't worry were almost there." She said.

"Yeah..." The kid cheered, tiredly.

"... Hahaha... Hahahaha..." A child laughter was heard, coming from the bushes.

"Wha-" Mairin said.

"... Hahaha... Hahaha...." A small little girl came out from the bushes. The little girl was about six years old with long greenish blue hair, wearing a white dress with a white hat and carrying a white ball.

ash and Alain didn't like the feeling they were getting from the little girl.

Brock walked towards her, "Excuse me little girl, do you know if we are near Saffron City?" He asked.

"Hahaha... ...." The little girl laughed again and ran away into the bushes.

"... Okay... Brock was," Mairin started. ".....Only asking for directions." she finished.

"We should following the way the little girl went." Alain said. "Who knows it might lead us to Saffron."

And so the gang followed the path that the little girl went and the path took them to a cliff, but they saw Saffron City with many many beautiful lights.

"Wow, its so beautiful." Mairin said, admiring the lights.

"I guess seeing that little girl was a sign of luck." Brock chuckled.

"Umm, I guess." ash and Alain said.

ash and Alain looked at each other.

"So I wasn't the only having a strange feeling about the little girl we met?" ash questioned.

"I thought so, she appeared out of nowhere and then she disappeared." Alain said, "What did you feel about her?"

"Very odd, I can't place it but she's was just..."ash trailed, thinking of the word.

"Unreal..." Alain suggested.

"... Yeah..."

"..."

[Break Scene]

After spending the night in the Pokémon Centre, the gang walked over to Saffron Gym, which was an usual dome-shaped building.

"Well, time for my fourth badge."ash said.

"Pika. (Yeah)" pikachu nodded.

ash was about to open the door, when a man with dark grey bearded interrupted her.

"What?" ash said.

"Are you going to challenged Sabrina?" The man asked.

ash notice that the man was staring at her, like he was studying, she snorted silently.

"Yeah ash nee-chan is. Is there a problem with it?" mairin asked.

The man snorted, "If I were you kid, I'll go to another gym. Sabrina will not go easy on a newbie trainer like you." He said.

"Hey!" Mairin shouted.

Brock frowned.

"So leave now and find another gym." The man said.

ash took a deep breath, she glared directly at the man and the man felt a chill down his spine.

"You've pissed off the wrong trainer." Alain grunted. "ash isn't like the newbies you've talked too."

"You bet I'm not." ash nodded, "Listen here you old timer, I didn't come here to Saffron gym to get told by you about my decision. I'm not leaving, I'm battling Sabrina and that's it!" She growled. "Also I don't appreciate Psychic users making or predicting my future battles."

The man looked at ash in shock, "H-how?"

"That's my secret." ash replied, simply.

"Very well." The man sighs, "You may go inside." He opened the doors of the gym.

[Break Scene]

When the gang entered the gym they saw a lot of people at tables. Some people were staring at spoons, as if they are trying to bend them and the rest of them were trying to guess what shape or number is on the card without looking.

Mairin blinked and tilted her head, "Hey, what are they all doing?" She asked, curiously.

"Trying to bend spoons. My guess is that all these people here a Psychic." Alain theories.

"All." mairin mouth opened.

"Hey! What are you kids doing in here?" The voice asked and it was a man in a white lab coat.

"Challenging Sabrina." ash stated, very blunt.

The man chuckled, "If you're here to challenge the great Sabrina, then you are in big trouble." He said.

"Yeah, I heard that before." ash retorted.

The man chuckled at her words, "Your an interesting kid. Very well I'll led you to the great Sabrina."

The gang followed the man and he lead them to the battle field, it was like a underground temple.

Mairin looked around, "This place is scary." She said.

"If its a Psychic gym I wouldn't be surprise." Brock said.

The gang watched as the man bowed down onto one knee.

"Oh great Sabrina." The man pointed to ash, "This girl here wishes to battle you."

'This girl here has a name thank you.' ash thought with a slight annoyed twitched.

Two figures appeared behind the curtain; one was woman with long green hair and wearing a red dress with yellow buttons, the other one was a little in white dress and holding a Pokéball.

"Ah, its that little girl! , the one we met in the forest." Mairin said.

'She's not human.' ash concluded.

The woman eyes turned blue and lifted the man into the air and then dropped him down onto the floor.

The gang winced, expect for Alain and ash.

The man immediately got up and ran away in panic.

The gang felt sorry for the man; its really mean how Sabrina is treating her own assistance like that.

"Pikapi." pikachu said.

ash looked at Sabrina, "Sabrina, I'm ashley Ketchum of Pallet Town and I wish to challenge you to earn the Marsh badge." She said.

The little girl giggled, "I accept your challenge~ But if you lose, you will have to play with me~~" She smiled.

"Play with you?..." ash blinked, trailing off, 'Why do I have a bad feeling about this play thing...?' She thought, "...Okay."

The woman spoke up, "This will be a one-on-one Pokémon battle." She announced, "Let play time begin." She floated to the top of the stadium.

"Chespin! (She floated!)" Chespie gasped.

"Woah... Now that's something you don't see everyday." mairin said.

"It isn't." brock said.

"Sabrina is powerful Psychic like the rumours said." Alain said. "ashley better be careful in this match."

Brock nodded, "Uh ah."

ash was amused, she can make objects float herself but she prefers making her crystal marbles float.

Now the gym battle was ready to begin.

The little girl let go of the Pokéball and it floated onto the field.

"Come on out Abra." Sabrina said.

ash scanned the Pokémon.

[Abra, the Psi Pokémon. It sleeps for 18 hours a day. Even when awake, it teleports itself while remaining seated.]

'I have three opinions... espeon. umbeon. absol...' ash thought, "espeon I choose you." She decided.

"Espeon!" Espeon yipped appearing on the field.

"Interesting... Psychic vs a Psychic." Sabrina smirked.

The little girl smiled in delight, "This is going to be fun~~" She chirped.

"Espeon be careful... This may be a difficult battle." ash warned.

"Espeon Esp. (No worries)" Espeon smiled.

When the matched was about to start, Abra started to glow and change shape.

"Interesting." Sabrina said.

"Ah!" The kid gasped.

"Its evolving." Brock stated.

"This is going to be difficult even more." Alain said.

"Ah Arceus..." ash face palm her forehead.

Everyone watched as Abra evolved itself into Kadabra.

ash scanned the newly evolved Psychic Pokémon.

[Kadabra, the Psi Pokémon. The evolved form of Abra. It stared at its silver spoon to focus its mind. It emits more alpha waves while so.]

"Espeon, Shadow Ball." ash ordered, first.

"Espeon!" Espeon fired a black purplish ball from her mouth and it hit the psi Pokémon directly.

"Use Confusion." Sabrina said.

Kadabra eyes turned red, ready to attack.

ash thought quickly, "Protect!" Espeon created a barrier around herself to protect her from Kadabra's attack. "Follow with Swift."

Star's came out of Espeon's red jewel and the attack hit Kadabra hard.

"Recover." Sabrina said.

Kadabra glowed a light yellow and some of its injuries were healed.

"Need to end this quick, even if Recover has a limited amount of use." ash said, "Espeon, Psyche Up."

Espeon stood still for a bit.

"Now use Psybeam."

A rainbow colour beam shot out of Espeon's jewel and it hit Kadabra hard.

"Follow it up with an Iron Tail."

"Espeon!" Espeon ran as her tail glowed and she slammed her tail into the psi Pokémon stomach hard.

"Kadabra!" Kadabra cried out.

Sabrina's eyes widen at that, her eyes were beginning to show emotion.

'Her eyes.' ash thought.

[Break Scene]

The gang notice this.

"Hey, is it just me or did Sabrina look different?" Mairin asked.

"You mean how Sabrina eyes showed a quick emotion, then yes." alain agreed.

"I agree, at the being of the battle. Sabrina's eyes showed nothing, no emotions like she was lifeless person and now she looks worried." Brock said.

"Must be Kadabra." Alain said.

"Huh?" Mairin and Brock looked at Alain.

"Some Psychic users are able to feel Pokémon emotion, if they are strong enough they can connect to that Pokémon and feel each other emotions. Sabrina and Kadabra are connected, meaning Sabrina must be feeling Kadabra's pain." Alain explained.

"Oh..."

[Break Scene]

Unknown, expect for ash, there was a man outside watching the gym battle in the shadows.

[Break Scene]

Kadabra was panting heavily and getting tired, but Espeon was fine, she didn't look tired from all the battle.

"I have to compliment you and your Pokémon. You two are the first to give me an interesting battle." Sabrina said and looked at the sun Pokémon, "Your Espeon is raised in excellent condition, after all that battle she doesn't look tired one bit."

"Yeah~ This battle is fun~~" The little girl giggled.

"Thank you for the compliment." ash smiled, "Lets end this here and now! Espeon use Hyper Beam!" She shouted out.

"Psybeam." Sabrina countered.

Both Pokémon released their attacks and it collided with each other.

Kadabra was panting even harder, while Espeon was staring at the psi Pokémon not losing her guard and then suddenly Kadabra collapsed onto the ground in defeat.

ash won the battle.

ash smiled, "Espeon we won!" She cheered.

"Espeon!" Espeon yipped and ran toward her trainer.

"Thanks for your hard work." ash smiled and bent down, giving her sun Pokémon a hug.

"Espeon! Esp!" The sun Pokémon smiled and licked her trainers face in affection. "Esp!"

Meanwhile Sabrina walked over to Kadabra.

"You made us lose!" The little girl shouted, "Your a meanie!"

Sabrina gently picked up Kadabra, "Are you okay?" She asked, she had a real looked of worries in her eyes and her eyes looked like colour was coming back into them.

The little girl looked at Sabrina then it suddenly disappear, as she was a illusion all this time.

ash twitched, she pulled out a red and blue crystal marble and let it go, it floated and flew towards the entrance of the gym and hit someone.

"OW!" A voice yelped, "What in the world?!"

"Hey, that voice." Brock gasped.

The man walked out of the shadows, he looked at the gym leader, "Sabrina?" He said, gently.

"Daddy?" Sabrina said, with tears starting to build in her eyes.

The man ran towards Sabrina and hugged her, "Sabrina!"

"Daddy!" Sabrina cried out, she hugged back.

"DADDY?!" The gang expect Alain and ash exclaimed.

"Yeah." ash said, "He was here the whole time, watching the battle." She used her powers and made the marbles float back to her.

"I thought the sense someone here watching." Alain said. "It was him."

"My baby girl is back!" Mr. Natsume cried out.

"Yes she is!" Another voice cried out.

"That's..." Sabrina gasped.

Everyone turned to the source and saw a woman with brown hair, "Sabrina! Honey!" She cried out in joy.

"Mommy!" Sabrina cried out.

"Dear!" Mr. Natsume cried out also.

Both Sabrina and Mr. Natsume hugged Mrs. Natsume, all of them cried in tears of happiness.

[Break Scene]

Everyone got out of the gym, the gang stood in front of the Natsume's family.

"You see when Sabrina was born, she was born with Psychic powers. But what happened was each year as Sabrina grown older her Psychic powers grew stronger, so strong that her own powers started to take control of her." Mr. Natsume explained, "And when it did, Sabrina showed no emotions for anything and used her powers to hurt people."

Mrs. Natsume smiled, "But thanks to you ashley, our baby girl is free." She said.

ash blinked, "Huh? I didn't do anything, expect battling her."

"Ah, but your battle set her free. You see defeating Kadabra, helped Sabrina get her emotions back, since they are connected." Mr. Natsume explained, "Also I must say you have very strong Psychic in you."

"That's true." Sabrina smiled.

"Thanks, I rarely use them." ash said, as she showed her three red crystal marbles floating around her, casually. "This is the first time I showed use of them in a while." She stopped it and place them back inside her pocket.

Brock nodded, "That's true. Last time was searching for something we lost." He said.

"Oh~ You have the ability to search." Mrs. Natsume said, amazed.

"ash -Nee-chan can also look for people, just give her a map and she's find that person." mairin chirped."That's not all, she can communicate with anyone who has her special red crystal marbles she made out of her powers. Its like a walkie talkie, without any static." Mairin chimed added

"We all have one, so its easier to keep in contact with were split up or separated from each other." Alain said.

"Wow." The Natsume family was impressed, they never seen or met anyone who had these kind of abilities.

Sabrina smiled and walked over to ash, "First of thank you for the great match." She held out a golden badge in shape of two circles. "I now present you the Marsh Badge."

"Wah~ Thank you." ash took it, "Look pikachu, we got out next badge."

"Pikachu! (Badge 4!)" pikachu  exclaimed.

"Yeah."

Everyone clapped for ash.

"Its time for us to go." Brock said.

The Natsume family smiled.

"Wait." Sabrina stopped them and handed ash something else, "Its my Pokégear number and here, I made something quickly out of my powers."

ash looked at it and it was similar to her red and blue crystal marbles, instead this one was purple and had a Psychic symbol inside.

"Hey, that looks like ash nee chan's crystal marbles." Mairin said.

"It is. I can communicate with you though that if there are any trouble with the Pokégear." Sabrina said. "Good luck on the rest of your journey."

ash place it into her pockets, "Yeah."

"Bye!" The gang waved.

"Goodbye!" Natsume family waved back.

[Break Scene]

And so, saving and freeing Sabrina of her own Psychic powers and earning the Marsh Badge the gang bids farewell to Natsume's family, continuing their journey.
