KANTO POKÉMON FOSSILS; ATTACK OF THE PHEHISTORIC POKÉMON!

Today the gang founded themselves in beautiful Grampa Canyon, our heroes will soon discover that this natural wonder holds an ancient secret.

They approach, however, they find wave upon wave of people also heading for Grampa Canyon, carrying backpacks, pickaxes, ect.. and they are all dressed like explorers or diggers.

"What are they all doing?" Takato asked.

"I know what they're doing, Professor Oak told me at the Pokémon Centre that Fossils were found here recently." ash

"Sounds fun. Can we hunt for fossils too?" Mairin asked.

"I don't see why not. What about you guys?"

"Sounds great and who knows we might actually found discover something." Brock said.

ash smiled and then...

"Why hello ashy." A familiar arrogant voice greeted.

The Pokémon face fault,  mairin twitched irritated at that voice, while Brock groaned and ash and Alain well they just stayed the same.

They turned around, not having a choice and saw was un another than Gary Oak.

"Pikachu Chu Pikapi. (Well of course he has to be here.)" Light stated, annoyed.

Korin blinked confused, "Chu? Pikapi Pikachu? (Who? Mommy who's that?)" She asked innocently.

takato asked "who is he"

"Chespin Ches Chespin Pin. (Better yet just don't listen to him.)" Chespie said, "Ches Chespin. (Just ignore that person.)"

Korin tilted her head and nodded, "Chu. (Okay.)"

Takato cough covering up a slight laughed, what he heard.

"Gary, I shouldn't be surprise to see you here." ash said, calmly.

"Of course a great trainer like me have heard of the great Fossil Rush." Gary said, highly.

The Pokémon expect Korin snorted.

"Gary, Gary his our man if he can't find it, no-one can!" Six cheerleaders girl cheered waving their poms poms in the air.

"Your kidding me." Mairin said in disbelief.

ash face faulted, 'Cheerleaders, really?' She thought tiredly.

"Thank you to all my loyal fans!" Gary waved back, "I better get going I have to find all the fossils quick before anyone else does." He said determined and he looked back at ash, "I can't waste my preious time handing out with a loser like you." He ran off.

Takato, Mairin and the Pokémon's including Korin all glared at the back of Professor Oak's Grandson back dangerously.

Brock sweat dropped at this, even he is mad at Gary for insulting his friend.

"Seems like Gary Oak gain more dislikers." Alain said, using the work 'hate' might be a little harsh.

ash giggled, "Thats true. But just ignore him, that's what I do." She said, "Now, let's go fossil hunting."

The kids immediately stopped and brighten up, "Yes!"

Soon everyone that was there started to dig up searching for fossils, that of course including Gary who was digging and he found something.

The gang were away from the people but they could still heard what was going on.

"Success my first Pokémon fossil." Gary said, proudly.

"Yay! Gary, Gary his the best found the fossil than the rest!" The cheerleaders cheered.

Gary was grinning happily at his cheerleader squad, when suddenly a old man who was a fossil expert of all regions took it and had a good look at the 'fossil' Gary found.

"Impressive isn't it, found it on my first try." Gary said, "It looks like a brain from an extinct Pokémon."

"This is..." The old man trailed off.

"A brain." Gary said, excitedly.

"It's fossilise Pokémon manure."

Gary face faulted and fell on the ground in disgust, all the cheerleaders grossed out as well.

When the gang heard that they laughed at it, but not loud.

Takato laughed, "Hahahahaha! Ahahaha! Serves him right!" He continued.

Mairin laughed but soon stopped, "But seriously. Look at all the people digging." She looked around.

ash stopped laughing as well and went back to digging, "Okay, enough laughing." She said, "Where is the Pokémon fossil?" She hit another place and out came two rock that both looked like fin fossil, "What's this?" She picked up both unknown fossil.

Alain stopped as well when he saw a rock that looked like a half sphere head, "I found something as well." He picked up the fossil.

Brock also found a fossil, "Me too." He picked it up.

The fossil expert who saw the four fossil, "Amazing!" He shouted out, scaring the gang.

"Chespin Ches? (Where did he come from?)" Chespie asked.

Light tilted her head to the side, "Pikapi Pikachu Pi Pika. (Wasn't here just down here with the arrogant brat.)" She said, confused.

Zack barked, confused as well.

"I never thought that they would be found here!" The Old man gasp them and carefully examining three fossils, "Young lady, Young man do you know what you both found?"

"Sorry we don't sir." ash replied, confused.

"Let me explain, young man what you found is a Skull Fossil that is a Pokémon called Cranidos." The man explained, "They can only be in the Sinnoh region."

"Wow." The two kids gasped, amazed.

"And you, young lady you have found two fossils that are both known as a Sail Fossil, I heard that this fossil is found in the Kalos region and the Pokémon is known are Amaura." Next the Fossil Expect looked at Brock's fossil, "And you sir have found a Dome Fossil, a Pokémon known as Kabuto."

"Well, congratulations you three, you've found some excellent fossils." The fossil man expert congratulated.

"Thank you." ash , Alain and Brock thanked the old man as he left.

"Amazing, now I have a new fossil Pokémon, Professor Oak gonna love this." ash smiled.

"Wow, your so lucky." Mairin said.

"Too bad, we didn't find anything." Takato sulked.

Alain pats his head, "We still got time. So why not continue." He said.

Takato cheered up, "Your right! We still have time!" He said, excitedly.

ash giggled at her little brother.

What everyone didn't know was that trouble was occurring in Grampa Canyon.

Team Rocket was at Grampa Canyon too and they wanted to get a lot of Fossils.

"If we collect a lot of Extinct Pokémon," James said, "not only will we be rich but, Team Rocket will become more powerful than ever."

"Meowth, have you got the dynamite ready?" Jessie asked.

"Ready and set to go." Meowth said, showing the dynamite.

The dynamite was for blowing up the canyon, so that Team Rocket could find Fossils easily.

"Aren't most fossil Pokémon part rock, so what the other type of my fossil is." ash wondered, putting the fossils carefully in her bag.

With Brock and Alain doing the same thing with there's.

"I bet it's going to cool." Takato said, excitedly and then notice three familiar criminals, "Team Rocket!" He shouted out.

"Say what?!" They turned seeing Team Rocket here.

"What are you three doing here?!" Mairin shouted.

Team Rocket revealed their plan as Meowth lit the fuse on the dynamite.

"Your crazy!" Brock shouted.

"Holy Arceus! We need to stop it." ash called out her Water-type Evolution, "Kosame after the lit dynamite!" She ordered. "You guys warned the others!" She ran with her Pokémon beside her.

"Wait!" The two kids ran after ash.

"Mairin! Takato!" Alain shouted out to them, but they were already behind ash, "They are going to get hurt." He groaned in frustration.

Brock sighs worriedly, "With that dynamite lit." He said, "Come on, we better warned the others and fast."

Alain looked back once more before nodded and they ran off towards the rest of the diggers to warn them.

"After them!" Team Rocket shouted and chased after ash and the kids.

ash looked behind her and gasped, "Takato! Mairin! Why are you two here?!" She shouted at them.

"We wanted to help!" The kids shouted back.

ash groaned in frustration, "..." She couldn't say anything about their idiot heads and this time, following her when she's chasing a dynamite. Which is 100% DANGEROUS! UNBELIEVABLE!

"Don't let them hit the fuse!" Meowth shouted.

When the fuse kept going, it when all the way to a small rock cave where the other dynamites were planted...

They fuse went all the way...

It was too late.

ash eyes widen, "Oh no!" She shouted.

BOOM! The dynamite blew up. BOOM!

ash gasped and quickly grabbed the two kids, protecting them some the blast.

"AAAAAHHHHHHH!" Team Rocket along with ash, Mairin and Takato fell into the ground.

Alain and Brock who were warning people notice the blast and they were worried.

"Oh no." Brock said, worriedly.

"This is bad." Alain said, worried as well, "Come on Brock."

They both ran to the blast location and when they arrived they saw a familiar Water-type Eeveelution and Pikachu climbing out of the rumble of rocks.

"Kosame! Korin!" Alain said and gently pulled the Pokémon up, "Kosame, Korin where are the others?" He asked.

"Chu..." Korin looked sadly at the rocks.

Kosame looked at the rumbles of rock sadly, "Vaporeon Vap Eron. (They fell in here.)" She said.

Alain eyes widen, "No..."

"They must've fell in when the blast exploded." Brock said, "Let's dig them out." He called out Geodude.

"Metang, Gabite." Alain called out his iron claw and cave Pokémon. "Help us dig."

Both Pokémon nodded, Metang use Psychic to move the rocks and Gabite grabbed larger rocks away.

ash's backpack that she somehow dropped, wiggled and all her Pokémon came out wanting to help save their trainer.

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

ash groaned a little and woke up, "Argh, my head..." She looked around and discovered that was in an underground cave, she felt two people in her arms and it was Mairin and Takato. 'That's right... I grabbed them quickly to protect them from the blast.' She winced, as she slowly got up. 'And my backpack isn't here either, must be up there.'

"ash- Nee-chan!" Mairin and Takato said.

"You two okay?" ash asked them.

"We're okay." Mairin said.

"What about you?" Takato asked.

"I'm alright. Where is Light, Zack and Chespie? I know Korin and Kosame are above." ash wondered.

"Pikapi! (ash!)" Light ran over to her partner.

Zack barked and ran over to Takato.

"Chespin! (Mairin!)" Chespie ran over to Mairin and hugged her, which she returned.

"Where are we?" Mairin wondered.

"I don't know but were underground that's for sure." ash answered.

Then they heard some more noise like somebody or people are waking up, its was Team Rocket.

Jessie saw ash and the kids and pointed at her, "Hey twerp! It's your fault that we are trapped in this cave!" She shouted.

"Hold it! My fault! How is it my fault when you three are the stupid ones who lit the dynamite in the first place!" ash shouted back.

"So what, if you just left it, this wouldn't happen!" James shouted.

"Are you crazy?!" Mairin shouted at them.

"Excuse me! But do you think that I'll let you do something this crazy! Like blowing this place up!" ash shouted and pointed out, "Use your brains and think! This area is highly dangerous!"

"That's right!" Takato shouted. "Baka! (Idiot!)"

Light notice and saw something in the dark area of the cave, "Pikapi Pikachu. (We got company.)" She said.

"Huh?" ash and Team Rocket stopped arguing, when they heard growls.

They saw glowing red eyes in the dark cave, area.

"Hiiieee, I don't think we're in here alone." Jessie said, scared.

Mairin and Takato stepped back, hiding behind ash immediately.

As the glowing red eyes stepped closer into the light, they were confronted by bunch of fossil Pokémons.

ash eyes widen, "Wait a sec..." She recognized them immediately, "There the Kanto fossil Pokémon." She said and pulled out her Pokédex and scanned them.

[Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto and Kabutops. It is believed these Pokémon became Extinct ten of thousands of years ago. The details of their behavior are shrouded in mystery. Though some have speculated that they may still exist, none of these Pokémon have ever been seen alive.]

"The explosion from our dynamite must have woken them up." Jessie said, fearfully.

Zack rolled his red eyes, "(You think?)" He barked.

"But this is a good opportunity," Meowth said grinning, "it's now our chance to catch them."

Jessie and James agreed and sent out Arbok and Weezing to battle them.

While Team Rocket was dealing with one group of fossil Pokémon.

ash, Mairin and Takato had to deal with the second group of fossil Pokémon.

"We need to end this quickly. Light." ash called out her partner.

"Pika." Light took a stance.

"Mairin and I can handle the little one." Takato said. "Let's go Zack."

Mairin nodded, "Yeah. Chespie."

The fossils Pokémon all attacked at once.

"Light, Iron Tail!" ash ordered.

"Zack used Iron Tail as well!" Takato ordered.

"Chespie, Bullet Seed!" Mairin ordered.

"Pika!" Light jumped to dodge the scythe's and she moved her metallic tail and hit Kabutops on the stomach sending crashing into the others.

Zack ran towards Kabuto and his tail glowed and he dodged the Mud Shot from it and he slammed his tail on top of its head.

"Nice!" Takato pulled out a Pokéball and tossed it at the fainted Pokémon and it was caught.

Zack barked and picked up the Pokéball, bring it back to his trainer.

"Chespin!" Chespie fires Bullet Seed attack at Omanyte who launched a Water Gun attack at him. The Bullet Seed stopped the Water Gun but Chespie fires more and it hit the fossil Pokémon head on.

Mairin smiled, "Yes!" She pulled out a Pokéball and tossed it at Omanyte who has fainted and it was caught.

"Ches!" Chespie picked up the Pokéball and returned it to his trainer.

ash smiled, "Congratulations you two. You got yourselves Fossil Pokémon." She clapped.

Team Rocket was still having trouble with their fossil Pokémon group because Arbok and Weezing were caught by the fossil Pokémon and they are unable to attack.

Outside above the pile of rocks, Alain, Brock and the Pokémon's were dealing with the pile of rubble rocks.

Subaru growled, "Team Rocket are really stupid, can't they use their brains for once!" Her emerald-green eyes narrowed dangerously.

"Ah, Subaru..." Brock sweat as he felt the aura of the Pokémon grew.

Alain wipes the sweat off his forehead, "Subaru, your leaking your aura." He said, calmly.

"Oh, sorry...." Subaru apologized and toned down her aura and went back to work.

"No worries. We're all worried about ash, Mairin and Takato. But they'll strong, so they'll be alright." Brock said.

"Mairin's a magnet for troubles, without even knowing." Alain stated, "I'm worried about that."

Brock nodded.

Inside the cave, Team Rocket were still having trouble with the Fossil Pokémon.

ash, Takato and Mairin didn't want to help and at the same time do because if the fossils Pokémon are defeated than Team Rocket will capture them and they didn't want that.

"AERO!" When suddenly a loud roar was heard and the Omastar, Omanyte, Kabuto and Kabutops ran away in fear.

"That roar doesn't sound good." ash said looking around.

Takato and Mairin immediately returned their Pokémon back to their Pokéball for some reason, their instinct said too.

When a reptilian, bipedal Pokémon with large, membranous wings. It has sharply pointed ears and a fierce expression with intense eyes. Its snout is ridged, with a gaping mouth and strong lower jaw full of serrated fangs. Its body is covered in light violet-gray skin with violet wings. The clawed hands at the bend of each wing allow it to grasp objects. A hump-like ridge grows from its back and it has a strong, arrow-tipped tail. Its talon-like feet landed on the top rock behind ash, Mairin, Takato and Team Rocket.

"Aero!" It flapped it's wings.

ash eyes widen at the Pokémon and quickly scanned the Pokémon.

[Aerodactyl, the Fossil Pokémon. Its hard fangs suggest that it was a carnivore. Its sharp claws were probably used to capture prey.]

"Pr-Prey..." Mairin and Takato became horrified.

"Run!" ash shouted and grabbed Mairin and Takato hands and qucikly ran.

Aerodactyl took off and flew after them, ash knows that they couldn't outran it, she saw that Aerodactyl was closing in fast and she pushed Mairin and Takato to the side and it grabbed her with its claws and it started to fly up towards the collapse area.

"PIKAPI! (ash!)" Light shouted.

"ASH NEE-CHAN! Let her go!" Mairin and Takato shouted and grabbed onto its tail with Light.

Meanwhile Alain, Brock and the Pokémon were still digging out the rubble, when they heard shouts and screams from the other side of the rock.

"What's going on?" Brock asked.

Subaru felt a Pokémon aura and ash's, "Something is coming up." She said.

Alain felt the ground rumble, "Move!" He shouted in warning.

Everyone quickly move away from the rocks, when the rocks collapsed and out came an Aerodactyl who flew out of the ground, with ash in its claws still.

"Mairin! Takato! Lightning! Where's ash ?" Alain asked, not seeing the girl he liked.

"Big brother! ash nee chan's-" Mairin began.

"Been caught by the Aerodactyl!" Takato shouted. "She's up there!" He pointed to the fossil Pokémon.

"WHAT!" Everyone shouted along with the Pokémon.

Aerodactyl was flying into the air and landed on a rock with ash still in its claw.

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

ash who was still struck in the Aerodactyl's claws, she was trying to get free by struggling but it she felt the fossil Pokémon claws clutched tighter and tighter hurting her a bit, she winced in the pain of the sharp claws.

"I definitely need to bandage this part after this." ash muttered, she winced at the cut she felt, but at the same time it was okay not deep, because of the layers of clothes she wore.

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

On the ground Alain, Brock and the Pokémon watch in pain seeing ash's face as the claws of the Aerodactyl's cling tighten making her cried out in pain.

"Charmeleon! (Thats it!)" Charmeleon growled as his eyes slit, "CHARMELEONNNN!!" He cried out loudly and suddenly glowed, he evolved in a draconic, bipedal Pokémon. He is primarily orange with a cream underside from the chest to the tip of its tail, which burns with a sizable flame. He has a long neck, raised nostrils and two blunt horns protruding from the back of his rectangular head. There are two fangs visible in the upper jaw, two large wings with teal undersides sprout from his back and a horn-like appendage juts out from the third joint of each wing, his arms are short and skinny compared to its robust belly and each limb has three white claws. He has stocky legs and cream-colored soles under his feet. And his eyes instead of blue it was dark blue shade colour.

"Roar!" A newly evolved Charizard roared breathing out flames from his mouth.

ash looked in awe as her second Kanto fire starter evolved into his final evolution form, she couldn't get her Pokédex to scan him but it started to speak all the sudden.

[Charizard, the Flame Pokémon. The final evolved form of Charmander. When competing in intense battles, Charizard's flame becomes more intense as well.]

"Charizard!" Alain called out his starter Pokémon.

"CHARR!" Alain's Charizard roared as he appeared and saw another Charizard, he immediately recognised it, "Char! (Charmeleon?!)"

ash 's Charizard smirked at his adopted father, "(Its me alright. We need to help ash !)" He roared out.

Alain's Charizard heard a screech in the distance and he turned around seeing Aerodactyl with someone in its claws, "CHAR! (ASH!)" He roared.

"Go." Alain said.

Both Charizard immediately took off into the sky at once, they both tag team against the fossil Pokémon.

"Roar Roar! (I'll distract it!)" Alain's Charizard distracted Aerodactyl by attacking with an Air Slash at it and it worked.

When Aerodactyl wasn't looking...

"(Now's my chance.)" ash's Charizard quickly charged at it with his body on fire, he tackle the back of it.

Aerodactyl cried out in pain and it dropped ash making everyone and the Pokémon on the ground call out her name.

"Ahhhhh!" ash cried out, as she fell though the sky.

ash's Charizard quickly shook of the recoil damage of the new attack; Flare Blitz and flew towards his trainer catching ash, making everyone sigh in relief.

ash winced at the pain on her stomach, "Thank you so much Charizard's." She hugged her flame Pokémon neck and smiled at the other one.

"(Your welcome!)" Alain's Charizard said.

"I'll give you a new name later but first... It's pay back. Charizard Double Metal Claw and Iron Tail!"

"ROAR!" Both Charizard's charged at the fossil Pokémon.

ash's Charizard charged at it with both Metal Claw, striking it directly then Alain's Charizard came up and strike it with its tail, Iron Tail and both Steel-type move were both very effective.

"AAAEERRROOOOO!!" Aerodactyl cried out in pain and started to fall, crashing onto the rough ground, "Ae...ro..." It fainted with swirling eyes.

"Charizard, let's go down." ash said.

"Char!" ash's Charizard flew towards the ground and Alain's Charizard following behind.

When ash's flame Pokémon landed, she threw a Pokéball at the Aerodactyl and caught it, "Ow..." She rubbed her side where the cut is, "Thanks." She rubbed his head.

Alain's Charizard landed beside them, he smiled.

"ash! / PIKAPI!" Voices shouted out.

ash blinked and turned around seeing the gang and her Pokémon running towards her, "Guys! Ouch..." She then whined in pain when her Pokémon tackled her, "Sorry about that, but can you please get off?"

Subaru sweat dropped, "Everyone, she's injured." She pointed out.

The Pokémon notice that their trainer was indeed injured and immediately got off.

ash smiled when Alain held a hand out she grabbed and to her surprise he hugged her tightly, she blushed bright red.

"A-A-Alain..." ash stuttered.

"I'm glad your okay..." Alain mumbled into her hair as his face was buried into it. "I thought I've lost you for a second."

ash eyes widen for a second, then smiled softy hugging him back. "I'm fine and I'm sorry for causing you to worry."

"A-hem, it's nice to see this but..." Brock interrupted.

ash froze, she forgot that they weren't alone, she turned slight red.

They saw Brock smiled with a glint in his eyes, Takato was grinned at them mischievously for some reason and Mairin frowned, unhappily.

"Oh~ Brock you ruined it!" Mairin wailed.

Oh, that's why.

ash turned even more red and she let go of Alain, who playfully glared at them, they all mocked surrendered.

After the incident with the Aerodactyl, Officer Jenny arrived at Grampa Canyon and asked the gang what happened here, every detail.

They told her everything that had happened and Officer Jenny had made a decision.

Officer Jenny turned to all the diggers, "Attention please everyone!" She called out, "Because of this incident with Aerodactyl, caused by Team Rocket. I have decided that digging for Fossils in Grampa Canyon is now forbidden." She turned to the gang, "Brock, ashley and Alain as you found the Fossils before this accident, you shall keep your Fossils, but after you resurrect your Pokémon don't let anyone know that you found them at Grampa Canyon."

Alain, ash and Brock nodded, understanding what she means.

"ashley, I'm going to drive you and your friends to the hospital at once. You need to get your body checked for any damage done." Officer Jenny said.

ash understood and she and the gang got into Officer's Jenny car at once.

At the hospital, the docters examined ash's body with an x-ray carefully and they declared that she was fine, expect for the little cut from the claws that was bandaged up.

The gang was relief that no serious damage was done to ash, expect for the small cut.

ash phoned her aunts, uncle and... She got scolded by them by her actions but they didn't blame her.

Though Takato got scolded by his aunt even more for recklessly action, even if he was trying to help, but it was a dynamite when his sister was trying to put it out.

Mairin she got into trouble as well, by Alain first and then Professor Sycamore, just like Takato. But he was impress that she caught herself a fossil Pokémon.

Alain stepped outside to give Volkner a call and told him about today's event and to say Volkner expressions were worried, shocked, surprised and finally relief, he was glad that ash wasn't that seriously injured.

With Professor Oak, he was worried at first and then he was really excited about ash and Takato for catching the Fossil Pokémon and he said congratulations on Charmeleon evolving.

# Though about your fossils, you need to go to Cinnabar Island, there is a Scientist that lives there and Specialise in fossils and he would resurrect your fossils.# Professor Oak told them.

"Okay Professor Oak. Thanks." ash nodded.

Professor Oak nodded and said goodbye.

The gang decide to stay in the hospital for the night to rest up, they are getting ready for bed.

Takato blinked and notice a white Pokémon egg with red and blue triangles on it, next to ash's bag. "Eh, where did you find this Pokémon Egg?" He asked.

"Huh? Oh, that Pokémon Egg, I founded it in Grampa Canyon after capturing Aerodactyl it was just lying there so I took it" ash picked up the Pokémon Egg and handed it to Mairin, "Here you go Mairin."

Mairin looked at ash surprised, "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm fine and beside you'll love the Pokémon that is going to hatch from it." ash winked.

Mairin smiled, happily and gave her a hug, "Thank you ash nee chan." She took the egg, carefully.

Then the gang settled down to sleep, with new Pokémon on their team.

For Team Rocket; they had left Grampa Canyon, feeling unhappy of their failure of catching any Fossil Pokémon.

After nearly being injured by falling and by a fossil Pokémon our heroes sets out once more to continue their quest to head to Cinnabar Island Where ash will earn her next Gym badge.
