THE ULTIMATE POKÉMON TEST?

"Alright! Time to eat!" The gang expect for Volkner and Alain said.

They began to munch on some sandwiches that Brock and ash made and the Pokémon are eating some PokéPuffs.

"Hey ash , I think you should take the Pokémon League Admissions Exam." Todd told the oldest Ketchum.

"Pika?" Light said.

"Rai?" Raichu said.

"Togephrii~~" Rafa blinked, carefully eating a small bits of PokéPuff.

ash blinked twice, "Pokémon League Admissions Exam? What's that?" She asked.

"I've heard of that. It's an exam that trainers take and if you pass it, you'll be admitted into the Pokémon League." Flint explained, thoughtfully.

"It's not really something to take interest in." Volkner added in his opinion.

"Sounds boring as well. It's reminds me of that Tech School." Alain said.

ash agreed, "I prefer the travelling and collecting Gym badges way. It helps my Pokémon and I gain experience from it." She said, "But it wouldn't be bad to try it out."

"..." The kids didn't say anything because they were to busy eating their delicious lunch.

They traveled to the area of the Pokémon League Exam, a building.

ash walked in and signed up for it, writing all the information needed and saw was ready.

"Here at the Pokémon League Admissions Centre we evaluate applications basic on the combine of written and practical skill exams." The Head Instructor explains, "And those who pass will receive this badge qualifying them for the Pokémon League."

"Chu... (Oh...)" Korin said.

"Take this. It's your testing number." The Head Instructor gave ash a pin badge with the number 7 on it.

"7 huh..." ash smiled, as she took the badge and pin it to her jacket.

"Also you need to leave your Pokéballs here at the counter." The Head Instructor said. "They are not permitted during the Exam."

ash nodded and handed her four Pokéballs over to the Instructor and then gave Light and Korin to Alain and Volkner to look after.

"Look guys, Nurse Joy is also here." Takato pointed.

The gang decide to talk to Nurse Joy about the exam.

"So you wanted to become a Pokémon Master Nurse Joy?" Mairin asked, unsure.

Nurse Joy smiled, "Well, it was always a dream I had." She recognised two people, "Flint and Volkner it's an honour to meet you."

Flint grinned, "No problem were on a break so I hope you don't tell the other who we are. So far, not many people in Kanto are able to recognise famous Sinnoh trainers." He explained.

Which was true, when Volkner and Flint were traveling with the gang, no many people recognised them and they were glad for that.

Nurse Joy nodded, agreeing to their request.

"So Nurse Joy, where are you from?" Brock asked.

"I'm the Nurse Joy from the Fuchsia City, sister to the Vermilion City Joy's." Nurse Joy answered.

Nurse Joy explained about the exam and others reasons about.

And unknown to the gang that Team Rocket was also in the building, they decided that they could enter the Pokémon League and becomes Champions.

"Pika Pika Pika Pikachu."

"The first test will measure your overall knowledge of Pokémon." The Head Instructor explains. "Ready? Begin!"

ash sat beside Nurse Joy, she was in front of a computer screen, with the touch screen in the table in front of the screen and sighs, 'True and False questions huh, interesting.' She thought as she listen to the question carefully and thanks to her knowledge of Pokémon and studying more about them, she got pass it, somehow.

Behind ash was two Team Rocket members; Jessie and James.

Disguised James was dressed up like a school nerd complete with large circle glass, he was answering the question carefully and some question came up and made him mad, like Magikarp question.

Disguise Jessie was dressed like a smart school girl with glasses and answering all the question 'True' rarer bored.

"Pika Pika Pika Pikachu."

"Now we'll measure your ability to recognise Pokémon." The Head Instructor explains, "Please name the Pokémon by identifying the silhouette or any parts of its body as it is displayed here." He pointed to the giant screen in front.

"Identify Pokémon huh. Makes sense." ash said, amused.

"Here is the first question. Identify this Pokémon." The Head Instructor showed the silhouette image.

ash 's friends were outside the room, watching the exam.

"Chu Pikachu. (Its round.)" Korin pointed.

"Rai Raichu Raichu? (A round Pokémon?)" Raichu blinked.

Mairin blinked twice, "It's just a round silhouette... That hard."

"True, many Pokémon can be round but if it's from another angle it's more different." Alain said.

"Any guess... because I have no idea." Flint said, scratched his head.

"Nope." Takato shook his head.

"We'll see and it seems like ash figure it out what Pokémon that is." Brock commented.

Volkner watched.

ash thought carefully, '... It can't be Voltorb or Electrode, it's too easy to guess. A Jigglypuff...? If I remember seeing it from top view. ... Smart...' She thought as she wrote her answer on the tablet, "Jigglypuff..."

Disguised James, "It's simple. A Pokéball without a doubt." He said, positive of his answer.

"Obviously, it's an Electrode." Disguised Jessie stated.

...

...

"... And the answer is a... Jigglypuff, seen from above." The Head Instructor answered.

"Huh?!" Jessie and James face faulted.

"Next question." The screen showed the next question, "What Pokémon displays this pattern?"

ash blinked, "Swirl on its stomach. Takato... Poliwhirl? No, the swirl is wrong. So it has to be, Poliwag." She wrote her answer.

"It must be an Omanyte shell." James said.

"It's Arbok, when it's all coiled up." Jessie said.

...

"The correct answer... Poliwag." The Head Instructor said.

"What?" Jessie and James anime fell in shock.

"As any Master would know. When a Poliwag evolves into Poliwhirl, the swirl on its stomach are reserves direction." The Instructor explained the difference.

"Woah, that was hard." Mairin sweat.

"Yeah." Takato agreed.

"It's getting hard by each question." Volkner added.

"Pi Pika." Light said.

"Question fifteen. What tail does this Pokémon belong to?" The Head Instructor asked.

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

Flint looked and grinned, "I know that one because it's was one of my Pokémon." He said.

"Really?" Takato and Mairin questioned.

"Yep."

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

"The pattern or flame is not a Charmander, Charmeleon or Charizard. It's different and the other two flame tail Pokémon are..." ash wrote her answer. "Ponyta..."

...

"The answer is Ponyta." The Head Instructor showed the screen.

Jessie fumed and slam her hands on the table, she stood up, "Grrr, can't you ask one question I know the answer to!" She shouted.

ash looked back, 'Huh, she looks familiar...' She thought.

"Please take your seat!" The Head Instructor ordered.

"This is a joke! These stupid questions won't make you a Pokémon Master!"

"For you information young lady. A Pokémon Master must understand all aspect of their Pokémon's life in order to achieve oneness of their Pokémon." The Head Instructor explained.

"Rargh! Your not making any sense at all! I'm through with this!" Jessie threw the pen stylus away.

The Head Instructor got mad, "Get out!" He pointed out the door.

Jessie pulled her badge number off and threw it on the ground, "Ha, I can't wait to go!" She opened the door and walked out.

"Oh dear, what a shame." Nurse Joy said.

"That looks familiar as well." ash said.

"... Jessie..." James felt sorry for his partner and declared that he would try his hardest for her too.

The gang looked at the lady who walked out and the attitude was familiar to them.

"Ches. (Anger.)" Chespie said.

"(She wasn't a patient person.)" Zack barked.

After the First and second exam was over and everyone went to see the scoreboard.

"Hey check it out. The ones on the right is the lowest score and the one on the left is the highest score." Brock explained.

They saw ash and she got the top, who got all her answers right.

Flint whistled, "Not bad."

"Wow ash , your score is the highest." Mairin said.

Takato nodded.

ash sighs, "And here I thought I got some of the knowledge wrong." She said.

James got the lowest score and hung his head in shame, "I got the lowest score." He said, gloom.

The last part of the exam was a Pokémon Battle.

ash and James was at the table looking at the three Pokéballs that was attached to a belt.

"Now select which ever one you like." The Head Instructor told them.

"Erm..." ash looked and just picked up a random one.

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

James went up first against the Head Instructor before ash.

The first unknown Pokémon James sent out was a Pikachu and the Head Instructor sent out a Graveler.

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" James ordered.

Pikachu fired a Thunderbolt on Graveler, of course being a Rock and Ground-type the Electric-type attack didn't work.

James soon became frustrated and went against the rules, he sent out two of the unknown Pokémon he had; an Ivysaur and Charizard.

"Goodbye." The Head Instructor said, "It's against the rules to use two Pokémon at once."

James was expelled from the battle.

And now ash was up.

"Yay, its nee-chan turn." Takato said.

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

ash tossed the Pokéball, "Go." She called out the unknown Pokémon.

"Weezing Weez." The unknown Pokémon cried out.

The Head Instructor sent out the Fire-type Eeveelution; Flareon.

The Head Instructor ordered Flareon to use Flamethrower.

"Dodge it." ash said.

Weezing moves away from the flame attack.

ash had an idea, "That could work. Use Smog Attack."

"Weezing Weez..." Weezing released smog from its mouth and the Smog Attack exploded after being hit by the Flamethrower and it threw Flareon back.

"Use Smokescreen to cover the whole field." ash ordered next.

Weezing released smoke all over the field, it covered itself as well and Flareon was having trouble, it couldn't see in the thick smoke.

"Tackle it!" ash shouted.

Weezing flew towards the Fire-type Eeveelution and tackled it, knocking it out.

"Woah." Takato said.

"Wow, ash is amazing when she battles with Pokémon." Todd said, in amazement.

Alain and Volkner agrees with that.

"I'll say. Even if we been traveling together, she stills surprises me with her tactics." Brock said.

"Go Go!" Mairin cheered.

"ash battles with Weezing much better than Team Rocket ever did." Brock added.

Team Rocket was watching from the background and was taking notes of ash's battle style.

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

ash recalled Weezing and sent out her next unknown Pokémon and it was another familiar Pokémon; the cobra Pokémon, Arbok.

The Head Instructor sent out his next Pokémon and it was the Electric-type Eeveelution; Jolteon.

"Jolteon, Agility!" The Head Instructor attacked first.

ash knows how to counter that, "Stop Jolteon in its track with Glare." She said.

Arbok glared at it and Jolteon became paralysed, it couldn't move.

"Now use Poison Sting." ash ordered.

Arbok opened its mouth and fired poisonous needles at the Electric-type Eeveelution making it cry out in pain, as it couldn't move.

"Great, now finish this with Headbutt." Arbok reeled in and use its head to Headbutt Jolteon and it was knocked out by the attack.

'Impressive battle style.' The Head Instructor thought, 'Those aren't normal skill level.' He recalled his fallen Pokémon and sent out his last and it was an Water-type Eeveelution; Vaporeon.

ash recalled Arbok and sent out her last unknown Pokémon, which was another familiar Pokémon, the scratch cat Pokémon; Meowth.

"Wah, nee-chan ended up having Team Rocket Pokémon." Takato sweat dropped.

"Tell me about." Mairin nodded.

"But ash battles way better than Team Rocket." Brock said.

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

"Meowth, Screech!" ash ordered first.

Meowth screeched really loud, so loud that it made the bubble jet Pokémon hold its ears in pain.

"Way to go and now Pay Day." Meowth's charm glowed and a furry of gold coins hit Vaporeon.

"Vaporeon!" Vaporeon was trying to avoid the coins thrown at it.

The Head Instructor couldn't give an order to Vaporeon as it was distracted.

"Now use Scratch and give it everything you got." ash commanded.

Meowth claws were ready and it scratch the Water-type Eeveelution hard on its face making it cry out in pain before fainting.

ash had won and passed the test with excellent battle skills.

James and Jessie were impressed by that Meowth.

Meowth felt insulted by his partners, "Hey, I'm better than that Meowth." He said.

"But, you don't know Screech or Pay Day." Jessie argued, pointing out the attack that Meowth doesn't know.

Meowth hung his head in defeat and shame, "It's true. I only know Fury Swipes, Scratch and Bite." He said, miserable.

"Come on now. It's time for payback." Jessie said.

James and Meowth nodded.

The Head Instructor returned the fallen Vaporeon back and congratulated ash on her winning.

The Head Instructor was about to gave an announcement to those who had passed when a Thunderbolt flew at him.

Everyone looked and saw a Pikachu that James had borrowed for the exam.

Team Rocket appeared and ordered Pikachu, Ivysaur and Charizard to attack but the Head Instructor had better idea and he ordered them to turn around and attack Team Rocket, which they did.

ash smiled amused and looked at the Head Instructor, "I take it your their real trainer. Even though they are used in the exam." She said.

The Head Instructor smiled, "Thats is correct. Your a smart one aren't you." He complimented.

ash sent out Weezing, Arbok and Meowth to attack Team Rocket and then the Head Instructor ordered his Ivysaur to charge up a Solar Beam and blast Team Rocket off.

After Team Rocket has left, the Head Instructor handed out badges to those who past the test.

"With this badge, you can now participate in the Pokémon League." The Head Instructor said.

When ash got her's, "I really appreciate it but I prefer travelling and collecting Gym badges from gyms. Is it okay if I kept my as a memento?"

The Head Instructor chuckled, "I figure you'll say that. Of course you can."

"I enjoyed your exam." ash said.

"I'm glad you like."

After saying goodbye to the Head Instructor, everyone left the building and the gang now continues on their way to Cinnabar Island once again.
