VIRIDIAN CITY GYM; BATTLE FOR THE BADGE!

The Misty Mermaid Summary

Before arriving at Viridian City, our heroes stopped by to see their friend; Misty.

Misty also just arrived at Cerulean Gym and she had a Togepi in her arms and told them, that she found Togepi egg for a while and it hatched not to long ago.

Apparently when they arrived Misty sisters had made a underwater ballet show, hosting Misty as the mermaid, who had no idea she was playing in it.

The three Cerulean Sister explained why they are hosting this Underwater Ballet show because their water show isn't as popular as it used to be and the stadium as been nearly empty for awhile. So they decide to try something new and they already got seats and tickets out.

Misty was shocked that they didn't asked her for her opinion, but she gave up and agreed to it.

The gang stayed for awhile to see how the show turn out.

The Cerulean Sisters got all their costumes and props ready, all Water-type Pokémon all was in the right order and the show has started, they also had a huge crowd.

But everything didn't go as plan, half way through the show. Team Rocket appeared within the show and tried to capture all the Water-type Pokémon.

ash and Alain stepped in to help Misty and had Brock, Mairin and Takato stay were they are.

The battle was on between Team Rocket and ash, Alain and Misty.

The audience was cheering because they thought it was part of the show.

ash had her Squirtle and Takato's Hydro to battle and Alain had Prinplup.

As the two sides battle, the two Squirtles and Prinplup evolved into their next stage; two Wartortles and the Emperor Pokémon; Empoleon appeared.

Misty Pokémon also evolved during the fight; Seel began the sea lion Pokémon; Dewgong, Finneon began the neon Pokémon; Lumineon, Slowpoke began the hermit crab Pokémon when a Shelldar swam up to it and clamped onto its tail; Slowbrow.

The crowd went wild upon the evolution.

It wasn't long, till they blasted Team Rocket out of the water and away from Cerluean Gym.

After the battle, Misty thanked all the crowd for coming and enjoying the show.

The three Cerulean Sisters thanked their little sister and the gang for their help.

And soon it was time for the gang to move on and head to Viridian City, they bid goodbye and left.

They said goodbye to their friends Volkner and Flint, who are now on the ship back to Sinnoh, but not before giving ash a good luck against the Viridian Gym, knowing to be strongest Gym in Kanto.

And surprisingly Volkner also gave ash a good luck kiss on the left cheek before leaving on the ship, making her all red for while and the teasing Takato, Mairin and Brock didn't help at all with her red cheeks, Alain made the redness worst by giving her a kiss on the right cheek, saying that it's a good luck before the gym battle and they arrived in Viridian City, where ash was finally able to calm down for blushing embarrassing face.

Now our heroes are back in Viridian City where ash hopes to win the Earth Badge and if she does, it'll be her eighth and finally be able to compete in the Pokémon League.

"Nee-chan, can you believe it." Takato said to his sister.

"I can't believe it, that I only need one more badge to enter the Indigo League." ash said, as she stared at all seven badges.

"You seem really excited ashley ." Alain said.

ash looked at Alain with a bit of blush on her cheeks remembering what happen, she shook it off fast and smiled, "Of course. I have also wanted to take part of the Indigo League ever since I first saw the League on TV as a kid." She said.

"That's a great dream." Brock commented.

They continued to walk and they walked past the Viridian Pokémon Centre.

"Look it's fix." Mairin pointed out.

"That's good." Takato said.

ash, Alain, Takato and Mairin remembered, this is were they first met each other and Team Rocket first appearance.

They arrived a Viridian Gym; the gym looked like one of those old Roman temple.

They were about to head for the doors when they heard a car coming their way.

"Hahahahaha." A familiar arrogant cocky laughed was heard.

The car stopped in front of them and revealing Gary Oak.

"Still playing with your little Poképals, aye ashy." Gary looked at ash.

Takato growled, he would put that arrogant kid in his place and his a kid himself.

"Why hello." ash said.

"I thought you finally gave up catching and training Pokémon and I figure you went back to Pallet. But no, here you are still at it." Gary insulted ash, cockily.

The group glared at the Professor Oak grandson.

Takato and Mairin where being held back by their shirts, consider of Brock.

"Calm down." Brock said.

ash ignore all the words, "What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I'm here for a gym battle. What are you here for?" Gary asked.

"I'm here for my eighth badge." ash replied.

Gary smirked and showed ash his ten badges, "Beat this."

"Also I'm battling this Gym first." Gary said and walked past them entering the gym.

The guards at the door told them that the Gym Leader only accepts challenger one at a time.

ash frowned, she had a bad feeling for some reason and then sighs, "Let's go to the Pokémon Centre and wait there." She told the others.

They went to the Pokémon Centre, the Nurse Joy of Viridian was happy to see ash, Alain, Takato and Mairin again.

They are now resting in the Pokémon Centre and having a small snack in the Cafeteria area.

"Hey guess what. I just realize nee-chan that it's been a whole year since you left Viridian City." Takato spoke up.

ash smiled, "It's has, hasn't it. Amazing isn't it, we have been travelling for so long, that I've lost track a bit of how many days have flown by." She said.

"Then it's been a year since we met ash nee chan." Mairin smiled. "Even I didn't notice."

Brock laughed, "Thats normal because it's easy to ignore the fact that time flies by so quickly, when you enjoy your good life." He said.

Alain nodded and took a sip of his drink.

ash chuckled, she felt something in the air, she froze and looked around, "What was that?

Alain notice her expression, "Whats wrong?"

"I don't know but, I'm sensing Psychic powers in this city all the sudden." ash answered.

Brock frowned, "Is it a Psychic Pokémon?" He asked.

ash looked uncertain, "I don't really know, well more like not sure. I mean it's feels like a Psychic Pokémon but it's stronger than anything I felt." She answered.

Alain eyes narrowed, "If you felt it and not sure than you better be careful." He said, "Remember what happened in Saffron City with Sabrina."

ash nodded.

Half an hour later, the gang decided to head back over to Viridian Gym again. But when they arrive they were shocked, the guards were no longer there and the Gym sign said;

'CLOSED!'

The gang immediately knew something was right here.

"We need to get inside and fast." Brock said.

Takato looked at the door and smiled, "The door isn't lock." He said.

The gang barged through the doors and ran through the corridors, until they saw light and found the battle arena.

What the gang saw shocked them, it was Gary Oak and his two Pokémon; Nidoking and Arcanine, unconscious on the floor.

ash ran over to the Professor Oak grandson and gently shook him, "Hey, Gary are you alright?" She asked.

"What happened?" Takato asked.

Gary slowly woke up from this unconscious state, "The Gym Leader used a Pokémon that I have never seen before." He explained, weakly, "It was so strong that my Pokémon never stood a chance."

ash eyed the field, 'The Psychic Power is stronger and powerful but whatever it was left the area in anger.' She thought.

Alain narrowed his eyes at the field on the other side, "Alright, come out!" He shouted.

Alain got a laughter in retuned of his shout.

Team Rocket appeared.

Mairin gasped, "What?"

"What are you doing here?" ash asked.

"Our Boss had something to attend to, so while he is out with his business, we are the Gym Leaders at the moment." Jessie answered and explained.

The gang eyes widen in shock and surprise.

"No way." Brock said.

"I can't believe it." Mairin said.

"Yeah." Takato agreed.

"The leader of Team Rocket is the Gym Leader of Viridian Gym." Alain said.

"So Viridian Gym is under the control of Team Rocket since he beginning." ash said.

Jessie held out a green left badge, "If you want this badge, you will have to battle me first." She declared.

"ashley, you know what Team Rocket is up to, so keep your guard up." Alain warned.

"I know." ash smiled and then face Team Rocket, "I accept!"

"Wait!" James called out and then two platforms appeared on the battlefield, "The trainers will stand on these platforms."

Takato didn't like the look of this.

ash went and stood on the green platform and Jessie went to stand on the red platform.

"Machamp! Rhydon! Kingler!" Jessie sent out the Gym Leaders Pokémon to battle.

"Kamui, Vincent, Pidgeot!" ash sent out her aura Pokémon, blade Pokémon and Bird Pokémon to battle.

"I'm here."

"Gallade!"

"Pidgeoo!"

All three Pokémon cried, ready to battle.

Gary saw two Pokémon he didn't recognise and the Pidgeot, he never saw one that big before.

"Machamp attack that dog with Karate Chop!" Jessie ordered.

Kamui twitched and stood his ground, as the attack hit but he barely felt it.

"Ah!" ash yelped as she felt a shock through her body all the sudden.

"ashley! / Nee-chan!" The gang and Gary called out.

ash's Pokémon immediately looked at their trainer, when they heard her yelp.

"What was that?" Brock gasped.

Team Rocket looked at each other, "Hahahahahahahaa!" They laughed loudly.

Meowth smirked, "I had the platform rigged, so that the trainers feels all the pain their Pokémon feels!" He laughed.

"What!!" The gang shouted.

ash growled, "You dirty no good life crooks!" She shouted.

"Never thought you could sink any lower than you are, not playing fair and square." Alain stated, angrily.

"That's not fair!"

"Cheaters!"

"Thats dirty play!"

ash glared at the Jessie who flinched a bit from the state of her eyes, glowing bluish green, "Fine! If you want to play that way then. It's WAR!" She shouted.

Kamui snarled, glaring at the opponent Pokémon with his fist ready, Vincent growled and his arm blades ready and Pidgeot screeched out angrily, with her wings stretched out. All the Pokémon was reacting to ash's emotion. How dare they use such a low trick!

"Anyone praying?" Brock questioned all the sudden, humorously, even if it's not the time, he couldn't help but asked.

"Pikachu." Light shook her head, in response.

Alain shook his head in negative response as well.

"I feel like it to the Pokémon but to Team Rocket. No way." Takato deadpanned.

"Kick their butts ash nee chan!" Mairin called out.

"Chespin!" Chespie cheered.

Zack barked loudly, cheering them.

✿ ---- ⇒ [Break Scene] ⇐ ---- ✿

"Kamui, Lightning Claw! Vincent, Three Element Combat! Pidgeot, Brave Aerial! Attack them!" ash shouted out, highly pissed.

Kamui had Metal Claw and Thunder Punch in both fist combined, he dash across the field and punch Kingler with the combo, knocking it into the wall behind Team Rocket.

Vincent appeared in from of Rhydon and lashed out with Fire Punch, Ice Punch and Thunder Punch combo punches, hitting it one more with a Thunder Punch and he sent him crashing in a wall.

Pidgeot took flight as she used Brave Bird and combined it with Aerial Ace and she disappeared for a split second before reappearing hitting Machamp on the stomach and it was sent crashing into the back wall as well.

All three Pokémon where knocked out cold, in just one combo attacks.

The gang winced at the attacks expect for Alain, who just stared at the Pokémon.

Team Rocket and Gary were speechless, staring at the fallen Pokémon, defeated so far.

Takato took this chance to still the remote, he and Zack quietly and quickly ran over to the other side and he told Zack to hit Meowth with Bite to let go of the remote.

Meowth yelped in pain and he let the remote go and Takato caught it.

"Oh no." The scratch cat Pokémon gasped.

Takato smirked, "This is a payback for what you did to nee-chan. What goes around, comes around. Ushishishi." He snickered and turned the shocker on for Jessie side as he quickly ran back to his sister side of the field.

Then all the sudden Jessie got shocked, "AAHHHHH! What are you doing making me shock?!" She shouted at Meowth who had the controller.

Meowth shook his head fast, "I don't have the controller anymore!" He shouted back.

"What?!"

"The little twerp stole it while we were busy freezing and gaping at the moment ago." Meowth said.

Takato snickered, "Ushishishi..."

"Nice work." Alain compliments.

"Thanks."

"RRARGHHH!" Jessie became frustrated and sent out Arbok and Weezing from their Pokéball.

"Carbok!" Arbok hissed.

"Weezing!" Weezing said.

As both Poison-type enters the battle field.

"You can't use a new Pokémon! That's against the rule!" Brock shouted.

Jessie just gave a cocky smirk, "I'm the Gym Leader, so I make the rule." She said.

ash cursed, "Lightning, lets go. We'll show Team Rocket that it is not nice to mess with the rules." She said.

Kamui, Vincent and Pidgeot all moved out of the way from the electric mouse Pokémon, as she entered the field.

"Pika!" Light entered the field, with sparks on her cheeks.

"Light, Thunder Tail." ash ordered.

"Pikachu!" Light channels electricity into her tail and coats it with Iron Tail as it became more powerful, she used Agility to boost up her speed soon, when anyone could blink. She struck the two Poison-type Pokémon with her tail, making them both cry out in pain as they collapsed.

"Chu!" Light hissed.

"So fast." Gary gaped in shock, "How fast is that Pikachu? Better yet, how fast are all ash's Pokémon?"

"AAAHHHHH!" Jessie cried out as the electricity shocked her with more force.

James and Meowth asked their partner if she was alright and Jessie being a bad tempered because she has lost twice and fast.

"Hey Jessie, I won so, I would like the Earth Badge." ash said.

"No." Jessie refused.

Mairin frowned and she push the red button on the controller that Takato stole, "Wonder what this does?" She questioned.

Meowth saw the button the youngest Sycamore pushed and paled instantly, "Little twerp! That button is will make the red platform explode!" He cried out.

"WHAT?!" James and Jessie exclaimed.

Jessie platform the red, glowed below and it exploded.

BOOM!

"TEAM ROCKET IS BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Team Rocket blasted away with Arbok and Weezing.

Machamp, Rhydon and Kingler, as they woken up from their defeat immediately, ran away into the back room of the gym.

Pidgeot flew into the sky as she caught something in her beak and flew down.

ash saw what her bird Pokémon caught in her beck and smiled, "Thanks Pidgeot." She said.

"Pidgeoo." Pidgeot dropped the leaf-like badge into her trainers hand.

"Alright, finally my eighth badge." ash said, happily.

"Pi Pikachu. (Badge number eight.)" Light cheered.

Gary gave a small smile, before leaving the gym area.

ash and the gang left the Viridian Gym.

"You know, I wonder why Team Rocket owns a Gym?" ash questioned, looking back at the Gym.

"Could be for a cover up. Think about, Team Rocket Leader is the Gym Leader of Viridian and not many people will suspect a Gym Leader as a Leader of a Criminal Organisation." Alain explained, "It's a perfect cover."

Brock nodded, "Thats right. No one would think to suspect a Gym Leader at all." He agreed.

"I'm wondering what mysterious Pokémon that Gary no Baka saw? And is it that powerful that even he didn't stand a chance at." Takato said.

ash sighs, "To be honest, with you all I have a feeling that one day we'll meet this mysterious Pokémon." She explained.

"..." The gang thought about it.

"Hey, did you know where the Indigo League is being held at ash?" Mairin asked, changing the subject.

ash shook her head, "Yes and no. I know it will be held at a place called the Indigo Plateau, but I have no idea where that area is. I'll have to asked Professor Oak for that." She answered.

"Guess... Pallet Town here we return!" Takato cheered, first time at home

"Looks like it." Brock said.

"Your right and let's hope that the aunt isn't that busy when we arrive back." ash said.

Now that ash has won her final gym badge from Team Rocket and now the gang is headed to ash's and Takato's hometown; Pallet Town.
