SUNBURST ISLAND; THE CRYSTAL ONIX!

Once again we find our heroes sailing through the sunny surf, they don't know it, but a new adventure is drifting their way.

Light and Raichu were on Lapras head, enjoying the view.

Light spotted something, floating on the water, "Pikachu? (What's that?)" She asked.

This got the gang curious, they saw a bottle floating on the water.

Both transport and atrocious Pokémon stopped.

Raichu used his tail to grabbed the bottle and then handed it to ash.

ash looked at the bottle, which had a piece of paper inside, "Huh? There's a paper inside." She said and she opened the lid of the bottle.

"A letter?" Mairin questioned.

"Raichu." Raichu blinked.

"Might be from one of the islands." Alain said.

"Have a read ash." Volkner said.

ash remove the paper from inside the bottle and opened it up reading it out, " Umm, lets see. "If you know anything about a Pokémon known as the Crystal Onix, let me know right away. Signed Marissa Isao from Sunburst Island." Huh?" She said, confused by this message.

"A Crystal Onix?" Mairin said.

"Never heard of it." Takato added.

"I have." Alain spoke up, "It's says that a Crystal Onix is an Onix that looks like made out of glass. Though it's said to be a myth. But some people said that they've seen it." He said.

ash smiled, "Sounds really interesting. We should check this out and who knows we might even see the Crystal Onix." She said, excitedly.

Both kids smiled, "Same here! Same here!"

"Doesn't sound like a bad idea." Volkner said.

Alain nodded.

"Alright. Lapras, Gyarados. Onwards to Sunburst Island." ash commanded.

"Lappp!" Lapras said.

"Grr." Gyarados said.

The gang arrived at Sunburst Island and what they saw was a bunch of shops selling things made out of glass.

"Wow, look at all the items." Mairin said.

"Yeah, everything here is made out of glass." Takato added.

"That's what Sunburst Island is famous for. People on this island makes things out of glass and crystal." Alain explained.

"Reminds me of the crystal statue mum[let them call cynthia mum] has in the living room." ash said, holding Volkner's hand.

"That's not all, people from all over the world comes here just to buy some glass items." Alain added.

"Your still keeping this junk shop open?" A man voice said, that sound very annoyed.

"Pi?" Light's ear twitched.

The gang saw a little girl with pink hair, standing in front of a shop and a man who seems to be scolding at the girl.

"Haven't you gone out of business yet?" The man said.

ash frowned, "I don't like that man's attitude." She said.

The gang and the Pokémon nodded.

"I don't see why you don't close your shop. There is no merchandise." The man said, annoyed, "Tell your big brother stop already. He got no talent."

The little girl stared at the man with slightly tears, "Yes, he does. His very good." She said, sadly.

"Come now. Don't start crying on me." The man backed away slightly.

The gang walked up to them.

"Maybe if you don't bully the girl she wouldn't have to cry." Takato said. He hates bullies.

The man looked at the gang, "Do you kids know her?" He sweat slightly.

"We don't have to know her but the way your speaking to her is very mean." Mairin said with frowned.

The man backed away even more and then left but not before saying, "Sheesh, kids these days. Sticking their noses into someone else's business." He grumbled. "Their shop is killing my business."

"Just because your shop is next to theirs, don't go picking on a kid then." ash retorted back, on what she heard. "That's makes you nothing more than a jerk you are."

The man flinched and then left immediately.

"Hmph!" Mairin crosses her arms, annoyed, "Meanie. Are you okay?" She asked the little girl.

"Yes, thank you." The little girl smiled at them, "My name is Marissa. Marissa Isao."

"Marissa Isao?" Volkner said.

"Are you the little girl who wrote this note than?" Alain pulled the note from his pocket and showed it to the little girl.

Marissa beamed, "You've found my note! So do you know about the Crystal Onix?" She asked, excitedly.

Takato shook his head, "Sorry we don't."

"We got really curious about this Crystal Onix Pokémon." ash confesses.

Marissa head fell, in disappointment, "Oh... I was hoping for someone would know about the Crystal Onix. That it would help my brothers with his glass making." She said, sadly.

"Huh?" The gang said.

Marissa brought the gang inside the shop, to see her brother.

"Hello, I'm Mateo Isao and I hope that my little sister isn't bothering you." Marissa's older brother said.

[ If your wondering where 'Isao' came from, I got it from Mateo's Japanese name, while Marissa is 'Masami'. So I stuck with Isao instead.]

"Not at all." ash smiled.

"I have a question. Why is your shop the only shop that isn't fill with glass or crystal things?" Volkner asked, curiously.

The gang looked around and it was true, it looked empty.

"Well you see... When my grandfather ran the store, it was full of glass and a big success." Mateo started to tell the story of this grandfather, "Grandfather was a really talented artist and he made really beautiful glass Pokémon sculptures everyday... I tried my best to follow in his footsteps... ... But I can't make anything good enough to sell in the store." He showed them some of his work, some Pokémon made out of glass, a Pidgey, Geodude, Diglett and Poliwhirl.

Mairin looked at them all, "They look really good."

Mateo picked up the Poliwhirl statue, "Maybe. But not to me. Compared to grandfathers, their worthless!" He threw it on the ground, shattering the statue.

"Ah!" Takato and Mairin flinched and gasped.

"Pikachu." Light said.

"Raichu..." Raichu looked at the broken pieces.

"..." ash, Alain and Volkner watched.

"Erm, whats so bad about them anyway?" Takato asked.

"They don't have that soul. That sparkle. That inner fire. They look like statues." Mateo explained, "Grandfather Pokémon statues, looked like they might come alive at any second. If I could just find some inspiration."

"You mean, like the Crystal Onix?" ash questioned.

Mateo nodded, "Yes. My grandfather got his inspiration from it. He told Marissa and I about how he saw and met the Crystal Onix." He showed the gang the glass statue of a Crystal Onix and it was sparkling.

"Awww." Mairin and ash said.

"Sugoi! (Cool!)" Takato said.

"It does look like it could be alive." Volkner said.

"So that's what you meant by the sparkle and inner fire. Compare to your grandfather, your one looks just plain what so ever." Alain states.

Mateo nodded, agreeing, "Exactly."

"Than that's it. If we find the Crystal Onix, you will get the inspiration you need Mateo." ash said.

Everyone agreed and so they set out into the forest to search for the Crystal Onix.

The gang arrived in the forest with the Isao's siblings.

"Where exactly do we begin to look?" Takato asked.

Alain thought for a second and remember something, "Mairin, do you have your Azumarill with you?" He asked his little sister.

Mairin blinked, "Yeah, I do." She replied.

"Call her out. If I remember, Azumarill's have high developed hearing that allows them to hear distances, even if they are underwater." Alain explains.

Everyone nodded, that's makes searching for the Crystal Onix easier.

"Ah." Mairin nodded, she pulls out a Pokéball, "Nami, we need your help." She sent out the aqua rabbit Pokémon.

"Azumarill." Nami smiled as she was called out.

Alain bent down and he had his Pokédex out, "Nami we need you to locate an Onix. Onix sounds like this." He press a button on the Pokédex.

"Roarrr!" Onix sound was heard.

"Azumarill..." Nami blinked as she listened.

"That's what an Onix sounds like. Can you find it?" Alain questioned.

"Azumarill. (Leave it to me.)" Nami closed her eyes and her long rabbit-like ears began to twitch, she listens carefully to the Pokémon she is looking for. "Azumarill. (I found it.)" She pointed to a direction and than took off.

"Nami found it. Let's go." ash said.

And the others ran, following the aqua rabbit Pokémon.

Following Nami, she led them to the beach of the island and then she stopped, "Azumarill. Azumarill! (Over there. Over there!)" She jumped, pointing to the other island.

"She said thats it's on the other island." ash translates.

"Really?" Mateo said.

Nami nodded.

"How are we going to get over to the other island?" Marissa asked.

"Raichu Rai Rai. (Check it out.)" Raichu said, as he pointed to the sand.

"I can't believe." Takato watched.

The others looked at the water and as they continued to watch the waves, started to become shallow and saw a sand path.

"Woah." Mairin said.

"Looks like a sandbar that connects to the island or it's actually one huge island when the water is low." Volkner said.

"Let's get going, while the path is here." ash said.

"Right." Everyone nodded and they ran along the path to the other side with Nami in front.

Nami continued to led them and they found themselves in front of a cave.

"Inside there?" ash pointed towards the cave.

"Azu! (Yes!)" Nami jumped and ran inside the cave.

And inside the cave was a big underground lake with beautiful shiny crystals, sparkling.

"Beautiful." ash said, awed.

"Look big brother." Marissa pointed to the sparkling crystals.

Mateo nodded, "Reminds me of grandfathers works. They spark just like that." He said.

"The Crystal Onix is here than." Volkner said.

Nami jumped into the lake and swam, her tail float was up, floating on the water and soon she jumped back out, "Azumarill! (It's here!)" She said.

"It's here." ash translated, as she eyed the lake.

Alain and Volkner both saw something in the lakes, "You might be right." They said.

Suddenly the lake began to move and out burst a long Pokémon, the Crystal Onix. But... Not one but two! Though one was smaller than the other one

"Roarrr!" Both Crystal Onix's roared.

"SO COOL!" Takato exclaimed.

"Not one Crystal Onix but two!" Mairin said.

The Isao siblings looked at the Crystal Onix's in amazement. There grandfather was right.

"How come they are able to live in the water that long and not be affected by it?" Mateo asked, he knows that they are Rock and Ground-type Pokémon

ash snapped pictures of the Crystal Onix on her PokéNav Plus, there is noway she is forgetting about this.

Alain looked at the two Crystal Onix, carefully "My guess is that their the built immunity to the water because of their bodies being made out of crystals, not rock. So Water-type moves are out of the question." He said

ash was looking through the photo she had an taken, unknown to the look at one of the Crystal Onix.

"Seems to be like ash might have a new Pokémon." Volkner said, noticing the look his girlfriend is getting from the smaller Crystal Onix.

Mateo nodded at the advice, "In that case, I'll use my glass making partner. Charmeleon!" He called out his flame Pokémon.

"Charmeleon!" It said.

The larger Crystal Onix roared, as the smaller Crystal Onix moved to the side and the larger one threw large crystal rocks at the flame Pokémon.

"That's Rock Throw attack." Mairin said.

"That's soooo cool. Crystal Rock Throw!" Takato exclaimed.

"Dodge them and than use Flamethrower!" Mateo ordered.

Charmeleon jumped to advoid the Crystal Rock Throw attacks and then fire a burst of flames from its mouth, directly at the Crystal Onix.

The Flamethrower hit the crystal snake Pokémon directly and the Pokémon cried out pain.

"..." Mateo stared at the flames spreading at the Crystal Onix and eyed widen, "This is..." He said, breathtaking, as he saw something he had never seen before.

"... Roarr..." The Crystal Onix collapses from the attack.

The smaller Crystal Onix, roared softly as one of its own is down.

"Ha ah ha..." Mateo breathes heavily, "Ive found my inspiration!" He announced, "Seeing the flames on the Crystal Onix made me see what I had been missing with my glass statues!"

"That's great big brother!" Marissa shouted.

The larger Crystal Onix got up and spoke to the smaller Crystal Onix softly.

Only ash and Takato knew what they are saying to each other and smiled.

Mateo nodded, "Thank you for letting me battle you and for giving me the inspiration I needed, Crystal Onix." He bowed at the Pokémon.

The larger Crystal Onix nodded, it got closer , towards Mateo and roared softly.

"Ermmm... Translation." brock  said.

"Crystal Onix said, "I want you to capture me. I can sense you have a true heart and I want you as my owner." Pretty much." mairin translates with a shrug.

The Isao siblings gasped, "Really?"

"Is that what you want?" Mateo asked.

The larger Crystal Onix roared again and nodded.

"Quote, "Yes. My younger brother is leaving as well to be with his chosen trainer. Which is the young girl." Eh?! Me?!" ash translated and then pointed to herself in surprise.

The smaller Crystal Onix roared softly at ash.

ash stared at the Crystal Onix and nodded, "Okay, if that's what you wished. I can't ignore that." She pulled out a Heavy Pokéball and captured the young Crystal Onix.

"I promise, that I will always take care of you." Mateo said, he pulled out a spare Pokéball and captured the larger Crystal Onix

Marissa smiled and looked at the Pokéball in her big brother hand, "And I will too, Onix." She said

"Congratulations Mateo." Alain said, "You now have the Pokémon who inspired you and your grandfather."

Volkner nodded.

Mateo smiled at the gang, "I can't thank you all enough. How about I made something for you guys when we get back to the shop as a thank you gift." He offered. "It's the lease I can do."

The gang couldn't refuse when they all saw the expression on the Isao's siblings and nodded, agreeing with Mateo's offer.

And in no time, the gang and Isao's siblings were all back at Mateo's Shop and Mateo was in the back making glass Pokémon figures for the gang

ash got a glass Pikachu (Lightning) figure with all her features and accessories on her. She also Mateo to make her some more but this time, she'll pay for them and Mateo agreed. [A/N: You'll have to wait and see when she returns back from her journey.]

Takato got a glass Poochyena (Zachary) figure with his collar as well.

Alain got a glass Charizard figure with his Mega Stone collar around his neck.

Mairin got a glass Chespin (Chespie) figure.

And Volkner got a glass Raichu figure and payed to get Flint's a glass Infernape figure, which will be sent to his gym.

"Thank you! For helping my big brother and I." Marissa said.

"Your welcome Marissa and we had a great time." ash smiled.

"Goodbye!" Marissa waved at the gang.

"Bye! Thanks again!" Takato shouted back.

"Bye Marissa, Mateo!" Mairin waved with both arms.

"Bye!" ash wave

Alain and Volkner, gave a short wave.

"Thanks for everything!" Mateo shouted.

And so its time for our heroes to move on but the friends they made and things they've seen will sparkle in their memories forever.
