Lold sat up abruptly, his deep eyes filled with caution.

“The intruder seemed to notice your laptop had an alarm system. They quickly erased their tracks as soon as they got in. They didn’t have time to get to the files.”

Lily looked up at Loid and said indifferently, “Bloodbane poison isn’t contagious.”

“There’s no need for maids. I’m not used to having them around” Lily was accustomed to living alone and didn’t like having people around.

Loid poured two glasses of water and handed one to Lily.

Loid tapped the table, and he stayed silent for some time. He then got up and fetched a bottle of beer for Lily. “Drink a little less.”

Lily shot him a look that clearly said, “Mind your own business.”

Lold’s expression shifted slightly, but he said nothing more.

Lily had a bit of a temper. It was best to let her be.

While they were eating, the video intercom at the door rang. Loid answered it, and the security guard appeared on the screen.

“Mr. Laurier, a girl is here to see you. She says she’s your fiancée’s sister.”

Many people in this residential area were important people, so security was tight. No stranger could enter without the host’s permission.

Lold turned to glance at Lily and said, “Let her in.”

Not long after, Shannon arrived.
