Chapter 30
âNonsense!â Belinda glared angrily at Lily. âYouâre just a child, What are you talking about kiting for? If word gets out, who would still want to be friends with you?â
Lily remained silent. In front of her grandmother, she always suppressed her violent tendencies. She didnât want her grandmother to witness any bloodshed.
âGo on, fix her arm for her. From now on, just try to avoid ber.â Belinda patted Lilyâs shoulder and advised softly.
Lily sighed softly as she stood and Lifted Susan. With a firm push, she maneuvered Susanâs dislocated arm back into its socket. Lily then pushed Susan away and coldly uttered, â Get as far away from me as you can.â
Terrified by them, Susan found herself unable to utter a single word. She turned to flee for the door.
Just as she reached the door, Sham suddenly lunged forward and blocked her path. âMrs. Martinez, you just insulted someone. Arenât you going to apologize?â
He pulled a small knife from his pocket, idly twirling it in his hand with a mischievous grin. Lily might not care, but he certainly did.
Although he had ulterior motives for accompanying Lily to the hospital to visit Belinda, he couldnât ignore that Lily was toldâs fiancée and practically part of their group. How could he allow someone who had harmed one of them to walk away so easily?
Susan, who had been intimidated by Lily earber, was now terrified of Sham
Too terrified to argue further, Susan ran to the bed and apologized to Belinda, âIâm sorry, itâs my fault, I shouldnât have scolded youâ
Belinda just waved her hand dismissively and said, âGo away.â
Susan was too afraid to leave. She trembled as she looked at Shaun and asked hesitantly, âShaun, can I go now?â
Shaun didnât answer. He looked at Loid.
With aned from Loid, Shaun stepped aside, allowing Susan to leave
As soon as Susan left, Shaun walked over to Belindaâs bed with a grin. âHi, Belinda. Iâm Shaun,â he greeted.
Loid followed suit, approaching the bed with a polite demeanor. âHello, Belinda Iâm Loidâ He then paused briefly before adding, âIâm Lilyâs flancâ
Belinda immediately smiled upon hearing this. âOh, itâs you! Youâre quite handsomeâ
âThank youâ Loid pulled out a chair and sat down, gesturing toward Daniel âThis is Daniel.â
Daniel quickly came over to greet Belinda
Belindanodded repeatedly at them and then turned to Loid, saying, âLilyâs young and doesnât understand much yet. If she does anything wrong. I hope you can be understanding
Reassurance flickered in Loidâs eyes as he replied, âDonât worry, sheâs fine.â His faint smile held a hint of politeness, and his tone remained respectful
âActually, Iâm old, and I donât have much longer to live. The one thing that worries me most is Lily.â
As soon as she finished speaking, Lilyâs face turned cold. âGrandmaâ
Belindasighed. âLoid, I know your family is wellâoff, and you might be out of Lilyâs league On top of that, sheâs dealing with this conflict with Susan. But Loid, if ever things donât work out with you two, please find her a good family.â
Lily slammed her phone on the table. Her expression was grim.
Loid reached for her hand, offering a gentle smile. âDonât worry, Belinda lâ take care of her, and Iâll make sure the doctors do everything they can to treat your illness,â he
reassured
âI know my own body best 1 should ve died a long time ago, but Lily has been keeping me alive with all sorts of expensive medicines. Even Lily canât cure my illness, so I doubt anyone else canâ
With a dismissive wave, Belinda said, âAlright, enough about me. The smell in the ward isnât very pleasant. Why donât all of you go out for a walk?â
âItâs okay, Belinda,â Shaun said. He poured Belinda a glass of water with a smile. âWeâll stay here with you.â
The smell in the ward wasnât pleasant, but Loid and Shaun were no ordinary rich young men. Theyâd been through a lot, and this was nothing compared to that.
