Chapter 90
After Corvina left, Joseph tapped into the forum post on his phone. At that moment, he finally understood the reason Loid wanted to meet with him and the explanation for Loidâs sudden recovery after his engagement
To Joseph, only a remarkable woman like Lily was worthy of Loid.
The third lesson of the day was Johnâs math lesson. After class, he shut the textbook and announced solemnly, âI have an announcement. There wonât be any breaks this weekend. You have a test on Sunday and Monday.â
His announcement was met with a collective groan
A student complained, âAh, itâs the end of my world.â
âOne biweekly test and a monthly test.. This is driving me crazy.â
âThank goodness there isnât a test next weekend or Iâd cry. Lucas Garciaâs concert is happening next weekend.â
Noting the pain he had inflicted on his students, Johncomforted them, âHey, take it easy. You still have time before the SATS. If you give your best, youâll surely get into your dream college. These regular tests will be of help to you.â
âMr. Everton, do we look Hoe we can make it to college? A male student skimped onto a desk at the back of the classroom, looking lethargic.
âGosh. They say no pain, no gain. Iâm feeling the pain now!
John beamed at the bunch of kids in his class. Most teachers avoided the academically underperforming classes like the plague, but he was the exception.
He always thought that the students who performed poorly were the ones who shined in character. Over the years, he had educated many studentsâsome of them rare talents and a lot of them poor performers.
However, only the underperforming students regularly visited him at school, even atter they started working. He believed that these lads would have a bright future if they were led onto the right path.
After John left the classroom, the students heard Corvinaâs voice on the speakers
âAnnouncement! Recently, there have been students who disseminated lies on the school forum. Hence, the administration has decided to penalize the posterâShelby Martinez. âMs. Martinez shall receive a warning. We hope this serves as a lesson for the others not to post malicious content as you might face expulsion.â
The Class 18 students erupted with excitement. tan rushed over to Lily with a wide grin. âLily, God has answered our prayers! The school admin never polices the forum, but they took action against the malicious poster for your sake! Youâre damm lucky,â
Lily glanced at the annoying lan and put on her headphones.
At the same time, Anya argued, âWhat do you mean sheâs lucky? Shelby was in the wrong for slandering Lily. She shouldnât have done that!â
âWell, thatâs what you call the Princess Syndrome. You have not spent a day in a wealthy family. Thatâs why you wonât get it,â Ian teased.
âDo all rich kids behave in this way? Puzzled, Anya questioned, âWeâre still students. Shouldnât we just focus on studies?â
Ian chortled, âLittle girl, youâre too naive. Soon, youâll understand that these trust fund kids donât need to study hard because they have a shitload of inheritance waiting for them. All they need to do is to buy a high school diploma and muddle their way through college before Ining off their generational wealth.â
âBut the wealth will be depleted one day
Jan shrugged. âI donât know about that. All I know is that Iâll be one of them! I donât have a choice but to live off my family because Iâm so bad at studies!â
At that moment, Heather suddenly went up to tan from the back of the classroom. She glanced at Anya before beaming at lan. âtan, letâs have lunch after school. We havenât had Junch together in a while.â
lan waved at her. âIâm not joining. Iâm having lunch with Lily.â
Heatherâs mood tanked, but she remained smaling. âOh, I thought we always had hunch together.â
âYouâre so annoying! I said I donât want to have lunch with you!â Ian was upset when Lily ignored him. He directed his anger at Heather instead before storming back to his seat. Achilling gleam flashed across Heatherâs eyes as she watched him walk off.
