Chapter 22- Asher

She went completely limp in his arms. That got me out of the shock. I took her from his arms, forcefully I may add and laid her on the bed. Carter was holding the guy back but he struggled free and came on the other side of the bed. I tried to wake her up but she stayed unconscious. I checked her pulse to find it was normal. It felt like she is in a really deep sleep. The guy looked on the verge of tears. He must care a lot about her.

“She won’t wake up.” I said a bit scared. “Her pulse is normal though. She looks like she is just sleeping.”

“What happened here?” the guy asked pacing beside the bed. Carter tried to calm him down but he just kept pacing.

“I patched her up and gave her a top to change in.” Abigail said in a muffled voice, her face still in her hands. “We were about to come out when she stopped me and held my hand. Then she stared at me with blank expressions and put her other hand on the injured side of my face. Her hand started to glow.

After few seconds she let go of me. Then Mia saw my face and screamed. I don’t know what she did.”

She continued sobbing. Mathew tried to pry Abigail’s hands off of her face but she didn’t let go. What did my mate do? Hands glowing?

“Look at your face Aby.” Mia said shakily.

We were looking at her horrified for the revelation. Abigail removed her hands from her face and the room was filled with gasps. Abigail continued crying.

“She healed you.” Mathew whispered surprised and happy at the same time.

Abigail’s face and neck were free of any burn marks. Abigail looked at her face in the mirror and gave a watery smile.

“I don’t have those horrible marks anymore.” She whispered in shock. Mathew was speechless. “But why did she faint?” She asked worried. Now you are worried huh.

“This is not good.” The guy said horrified.

“What are you talking about Aaron? I think she just fainted. She will come around.” Carter said to him, engulfing him in his arms and this time he didn’t protest.

“What am I going to tell Ryder and her father? The main question is how am I going to tell them anything?” he kept mumbling, chewing his nails. “I hope they don’t come marching here.” He shuddered and hid his face in Carter’s chest. Carter was smiling like he was on the top of the world.

I hope she accepts me too. I want to feel this emotion of being complete as well.

“Those are the same people she was talking to in the mind link right?” Leo asked.

“Yeah.” Aaron mumbled.

He looked up towards Carter and blushed crimson. He removed Carter’s hands from around him and sat on the other side of the bed near my mate. He looked really scared. I need to know her name. I can’t keep her calling my mate. I don’t mind calling her that but it’s better to ask what her name is.

“What is her name?” I asked him.

“Amara.” Aaron replied “I want to take her to the hospital but I am not sure if I am supposed to.” He mumbled. What does he mean by that?

“How about we let her sleep? She looks perfectly fine to me. Maybe the healing drained her energy.”

Leo said thoughtfully.

“I will stay here and look over her.” I said holding her hand.

“Oh hell no.” Aaron said in disbelief. “No way in the hell am I leaving her here with you. You pervert.”

Has he lost his mind? What is he talking about? I heard the others laugh.

“Why did you call me a pervert? She is my mate and I am supposed to take care of her. As for you, your mate is right behind you. So why don’t you go cuddle with him and leave me and my mate alone.”

I snarled.

Carter growled at me in warning. Aaron looked angry as well but I can see blood creeping up his neck.

“Asher is right. He can stay with her and look after her.” Leo said. “Carter take your mate home. We should leave too. We can ask her about everything once she is conscious. He can mind link us if he needs anything or once she wakes up.”

“What? Oh no no no. I am not leaving her here with a stranger. Especially if the said person is you.”

Aaron said angrily. “I don’t trust you with her.”

“Geez dude I am not going to hurt her.” I said annoyed.

“I saw how much you won’t hurt her just a few seconds ago.” He fired back.

“I…I didn’t hurt her intentionally. I was just so happy to finally find my mate that I lost control. I promise I won’t hurt her again.” I said looking at my mate. Just wake up already.

I turned my head towards Aaron and he continued looking at me for a while deciding and then sighed in defeat.

“Fine. But I am coming to check on her in the evening whether you like it or not.” He said and stomped out of the door. Carter followed after him.

“I am going to take a leaf out of your book regarding my mate. Mine is as stubborn as yours. No wonder these two get along so well.” Carter said to me in the mind link and I know he is grinning widely.

The others laughed and they too left. I sighed and took my mate’s hand back in mine and kissed the back of her hand. I finally found you. She is really beautiful. Her long dark hair really complements her pale skin. I am having a really hard time controlling myself. I leaned closer to her, my face hovering over hers. Our noses almost touching and my hands beside her head, supporting me. I can feel her breath on my lips, her lips parted a little. I leaned a little closer, our lips only a thread away. This is wrong I know but this feels so right. She is my mate after all.

I closed my eyes and touched my lips to hers. A surge of electricity went through me and I lost control. I took her bottom lip between mine and before I knew it I was fully hovering over her. I should stop but I can’t. A wild tremor passed through my body that I didn’t knew I was capable of feeling and I started kissing her passionately, my hand combing through her soft hairs. I slipped my tongue between her lips, entering her mouth. I caressed her tongue with mine and a moan slipped through my lips. I can feel her breathing getting heavy and I knew it was time to let go but it felt almost punishable to do so. I don’t want to be away from her.

In that moment the right and wrong didn’t matter to me. The only thing that mattered is that she is mine and I am already in love with her. I detached our lips and rested my forehead on hers panting heavily.

In that moment I knew I will do anything for this girl.

So this is how it feels to have a mate by your side. I don’t want to let go of this emotion ever. My heart is beating really fast. Her sweet earthy scent is wafting in my nose like wildfire. I touched the crook of her neck with my fingers and touched my lips there for just a second. I will mark her here, soon. Her scent was making my head and senses go wild. I need some fresh air. I got up, reluctantly and exited the house. I am already missing her warmth and the sparks but I have to get away for a while. I don’t want to lose control again. She will never forgive me for this. I don’t regret kissing her but I know it was wrong to do so when she was unconscious. The scent of the forest cleared my head. If this is what it feels like to have your mate by your side, I don’t want to let go of this feeling ever. A laugh slipped through my mouth at the thought that he was right. I am a pervert but only when it comes to her.
