Chapter 49

Falling for the Mafia Brothers802 words~5 min read

When they arrived back at the house, Kyle couldn’t help but cry. Dimitri escorted her to Max’s bedroom, and he knew that Max would be asleep.

“Max, wake up. There’s something important going on.”

“Fuck off, Dimitri. Can’t it wait until the morning?”

“Max?”

At the sound of her voice, he sat up in bed quickly. “Little bee, is that you?”

She climbed into bed, hugging Max.

“I don’t understand,” Max said.

“I’ll explain everything once we get some sleep.”

Max lay down and held Kyle next to him while Dimitri lay on the other side of her.

Kyle silently cried herself to sleep while Max and Dimitri tried to soothe her.

Once Kyle was asleep, Dimitri and Max slipped out of bed and went to their office.

“What the fuck is going on?” Max demanded to know.

“Anatoli, Mike, Jason, Ellis, and I went in to get her.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“You would have shot everyone, especially Cannin.” Dimitri let out a sigh. “There’s something you need to know, and you may want to sit for this.”

“Just tell me.”

“Kyle is pregnant.”

“Fuck. How could she?”

“Before you jump to that conclusion, it sounded like he raped her; she said it wasn’t by choice. She also shot him.

“We left him for dead, but to be honest, I don’t think he is, which means we may have trouble later. We also brought back another girl. She’s important to Kyle, so she’ll be staying.”

Max couldn’t believe that Kyle was going to have another man’s child.

“What are we going to do?”

“The question is, what are you going to do, Max? I’ve already decided to love her as is. If she wants to keep the baby, I’ll help her raise it; if she chooses to do other things, I’ll support her.”

Max nodded at his brother. He didn’t know what to say. He thought her first child would be his, or at least related to him by blood.

“It’s a lot to think about, and I think we should see what she wants to do,” he told Dimitri.

“Let’s get back to bed before she wakes up.”

The next morning, Max was woken up by the sound of Kyle throwing up in the bathroom.

He got up and walked toward the bathroom to check on her. As he got there, she was sitting on her knees, staring at the toilet.

“I know. It’s attractive, right?” She quickly leaned over and dry heaved into the toilet, and Max walked over to her, pulling her hair out of her face and rubbing her back.

“I’m so sorry, Max.”

It hurt Max to know she thought she had something to apologize for.

“Don’t be sorry, little bee.” Max leaned over and kissed her shoulder. “Do you need anything?”

“Some water and maybe some mouthwash.”

Max handed her the mouthwash and left to get her some water. When he got back to the room, Kyle was sitting in bed. He gave her the water and climbed in next to her.

“I’m assuming Dimitri told you.”

“He did.”

“Do you hate me?” Kyle’s head was bent down, looking at her fingers, and Max turned to her and placed his hand under her chin so he could look her in the eyes.

“I could never hate you.” He leaned in, giving her a peck on the lips before he pulled her into him, and he knew at that moment that Kyle was his home.

He didn’t care what he had to do; he would be there for her.

“I don’t mean to bother anyone. I was just hoping I could get some food,” Violet said timidly while Kyle, Max, Dimitri, and Anatoli were eating.

“You don’t have to ask—help yourself to anything, and if you don’t want to stay here, you can leave; you’re free,” Kyle told her.

Anatoli got up from his seat in the kitchen and fixed Violet a plate.

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome, ~Lyubov~.”

Kyle smiled, knowing that Anatoli called her “love.” When he sat down, she leaned over to tease him.

“Really? Do you have a schoolboy crush?”

Anatoli didn’t say anything. He only smiled at Kyle before eating the rest of his food.

Kyle looked at Max and Dimitri. “It is all right if she stays, right?”

“Of course. Besides, if we said no, someone else would challenge it.”

“I barely know her,” Anatoli retorted.

“But you think she’s pretty.”

“~Da~. More beautiful than any girl. No offense.”

“I’m not offended; I’m happy for you.”

Kyle was happy that Violet got a new life out of this situation, but she wasn’t sure how her choices would play out.

She still had a lot of choices to make and hoped that Max and Dimitri would fully support her.
