Falling for the Mafia Brothers889 words~5 min read

Kyle waited for her turn to walk down the aisle.

She watched as Violet and Varina walked down the aisle with Evie, who was being pulled in a little red wagon as the flower girl.

Having her daughter be included made her heart swell.

Everyone she loved was here. Ryan was walking her down the aisle, and Max was acting as the best man.

“Are you ready?” Ryan whispered to Kyle.

“More than ready.”

The music changed to the instrumental version of ~Can’t Help Falling in Love~, and Kyle took a deep breath before she started walking with Ryan.

Kyle was staring at Dimitri as she walked toward him; he was wearing a light gray suit with a gray vest and black tie.

She had never seen him so dressed up, and the way the suit fit him had her admiring the way he was built.

“Who gives permission for this woman and this man to be married?” the preacher asked.

“I do,” Ryan responded. He kissed Kyle on the cheek, told her that he loved her, and placed her hand in Dimitri’s.

“You’re beautiful,” Dimitri whispered to her. “I love you,” she whispered to him. She looked back at Max and mouthed, “I love you,” to him.

While this was her and Dimitri’s day, she didn’t want Max left out; she loved them equally and wanted them to know that.

“We are gathered here to celebrate the marriage of Dimitri and Kylah. The couple have prepared their vows.”

The preacher gave Dimitri a nod, telling him to start.

“Kyle, my ~myshka~, I remember the first day I laid eyes on you. You were scared and confused; we had turned your world upside down, and part of me knew then that I loved you.

“We have had our ups and downs, but we always work it out. You’re kind, smart, and you’re an amazing mother and the perfect partner.

“I couldn’t imagine a future without you, or someone other than you to be the mother of my children.

“I promise to honor you, to be loyal to you, to love you in every way possible, and I dedicate my life to making you happy. I love you more than I ever thought I could love a person.”

The preacher then nodded at Kyle to proceed.

“Dimitri, I’ve thought about our vows every day since you asked me to marry you. It’s hard to express in words what you mean to me. How do you express an emotion that has no end?

“When I first came to you, I was intrigued, but at the same time scared. I didn’t know what my future would hold, but I never thought you would be my future.

“I love everything about you, and I’m thankful that life has brought me to you.

I look forward to loving you every day, taking care of you when you’re sick, and raising children that look like you, and most importantly, I love you.”

“Now, for the exchanging of the rings.”

“Do you, Dimitri, take Kylah to be your lawfully wedded wife?”

“I do.”

“And do you, Kyla, take Dimitri to be your lawfully wedded husband?”

“I do.”

“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

Dimitri pulled Kyle close to him and dipped her before kissing her while the guests cheered.

“Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. and Mrs. Volkov.”

Kyle was all smiles; she felt overwhelmed by the amount of happiness her heart held.

“I love you,” Dimitri said as he pulled Kyle into a room on the way to the reception.

“You look amazing—you know that, ~myshka~?”

Dimitri kissed Kyle before she could say anything. “I wish I could get you out of this dress now.”

“Be patient. We’ll have plenty of time for that later. We should head to the reception before people start asking where we are.”

Dimitri let out a sigh. “Fine.”

Kyle and Dimitri made their way to the reception, where they were greeted with hugs and congratulations.

Max walked up to his brother and Kyle. “It was a beautiful ceremony.” Max kissed Kyle on the cheek. “Save a dance for me, little bee.”

As the night went on, people relaxed as they kept drinking, and Kyle’s feet hurt from dancing so much.

“Are you about ready to go, ~myshka~?”

“She owes me a dance, brother.” Max came out of nowhere.

“Go dance, and when you’re done, prepare to leave; I want some alone time with you.”

Kyle took Max’s hand and let him lead her to the dance floor.

Max pulled Kyle close to him, and they started swaying to the music. “I’m so happy you carry our name now. I love you, and watching you commit yourself to us is more than I can ask for.”

“I love you too. I just wish there was a way I could marry both of you.”

“The ceremony will be enough for me, so don’t worry about it.”

They continued to dance until the end of the song, and Max walked her back to his brother.

“Have fun on your honeymoon, little bee, and don’t worry about Evie. We love you, and we’ll see you in a week.” Max gave Kyle a quick kiss before leaving her and Dimitri.

“Are you ready to go?”

“I am; I’m beyond tired.”
