"I heard about who we are playing today," Mason tells me as we walk to our lockers from our last class of the day.
"Yeah, Devonford Prep unfortunately," I mumble. "Liam's been stressing about this for the past few days.
"Speaking of your insane twin brother, where is he, Lily?"
"I don't know," I mumble. "Probably getting himself into trouble again."
Even though Liam is technically the older twin I always feel like I'm the more mature one watching over him and keeping him out of trouble. Unfortunately, I wasn't doing my job well enough and got him kicked out of Devonford, subsequently making me transfer to Beacon Hills so he and I can stay together. My parents and Liam both hated that I dropped out of Devonford, but I knew that I needed to watch over my brother.
Plus I hated pretty much every single one of those snobby rich kids who thought they were all that, and couldn't stand to deal with them without my brother. As you could tell I had no friends there. People would call me names like "nerd," "loser," and "weeb" since all I cared about was keeping my grades up, the novels I had my nose constantly buried in, the good pop punk music playing though my headphones to block out all of the imbeciles, all of my drawings of people and cartoons, the drama club, and the animes that I always watched in my free time.
I am actually kind of glad to get away from Devonford Prep because of that. Not to mention I hated wearing the uniform. Don't get me wrong the uniform could have been way worse. At least they were burgundy and gray instead of something like orange. I just wanted to wear jeans and a t-shirt for a change instead of a skirt and blouse. For some reason guys have a thing for girls in school uniforms, but it just got annoying wearing the same thing everyday after a while.
I was definitely not your average prep school student and I was made fun of for it. I didn't care though. They could laugh all they wanted but I knew I wanted to be a nurse and help people.
Liam was different. While I was cool and collected when people bothered me, he couldn't help but get riled up, and that's what got him kicked out of school.
Now it's even worse with this whole werewolf fiasco that I can still barely wrap my head around. Scientifically it's not possible to change like that. Cells can't just change from being bitten. You can't just be able to grow fangs and claws and have them sink back into your body like Wolverine, but I've seen it happen and it's completely changed my perspective on life. Who knows what else is real... vampires, demigods... Hogwarts?
Are all the stories true like what Jace told Clary in The Mortal Instruments?
I haven't really been able to sleep at night. I've been thinking too much. Staying up late researching all I can about werewolves and lycanthropy. I feel like I've fallen into a fantasy world and everything is new and different.
"Hey, Lils, you okay?" Mason asks me waving his hand in front of my face.
I snap out of my thoughts. "What?" I blink.
"I just said Liam's right there," he says pointing down the hallway. I look over to see my brother walking towards us in the hallway. He flashes us a strained smile as he falls in step with us on our journey to the freshman wing where all our lockers are.
"Hey guys, are you gonna be at the game tonight?" Liam asks us.
"What kind of moronic question is that?" I ask him. "I'm your sister, of course I'll be at the game, and Mason is your best friend so he wouldn't miss it either."
Mason has been me and Liam's friend since we were little kids. We went to the same elementary school and middle school together, but he went to Beacon Hills while Liam and I went to Devonford Prep.
Mason points at me grinning. "What she said."
Liam's face fills with a look of relief as we reach our lockers.
As we make our way outside we see the bus for Devonford Prep has arrived and boys in the all too familiar school uniforms are spilling out into the parking lot carrying gear, lacrosse sticks and water jugs.
Without warning, Liam speeds off toward the bus of lacrosse players.
"Liam, no!" I call after him, jogging trying to catch up. I reach him when I see him facing a very unfortunate yet familiar face.
"I just want to say have a good game," Liam says as he sticks out his hand for Brett, the captain of the team, to shake.
Instead of accepting Liam's sign of good sportsmanship, Brett just laughs in his face.
"That's cute, Liam," he smirks. "What did they teach you that in anger management class?"
Liam tenses and takes a step toward Brett.
"Liam," I say in a warning tone, making my presence known to my former classmates.
Brett's smirk becomes wider as his eyes find me, looking me up and down, taking in my black shorts with black, patterned tights, gray All Time Low shirt, black and white flannel, and black combat boots. "Lily Dunbar, I thought I would see you running to rescue your big brother from his tantrums. I have to say I kinda miss the skirt and knee highs, but i could get used to this. I hope you'll still be cheering for me, babe."
One of the players wolf whistles while a few of them laugh. Liam growls under his breath.
And it's started again. I would get constant mocking remarks about my ass and legs from Brett at school. He shamelessly flirted with me all the time just to rile Liam up. I hate to say this, but he's the only person who could actually get under my skin and get a reaction from me.
"Bite me," I snap as I glare at him.
Another thing I hate to admit is that Brett is probably the most attractive guy I've ever seen besides Chris Hemsworth, Brendon Urie, or how I imagine Will Herondale looking like. He has gorgeous crystal blue eyes and cute messy light brown hair. His shoulders and arms are broad but he still looks very lean due to his height. I hate every bit of it.
"Ooh kinky," he winks. "And just as feisty as I remember."
"Don't talk about my sister that way," Liam growls.
"What way?" Brett asks, feigning innocence. "I was just stating that she's a beautiful girl who would look great in my jersey and maybe even in my bed." He bites his lip wearing a devilish grin.
A few of the guys making "ooing" sounds as I grab Liam's arm, holding him back.
"If I was in your bed I'd suffocate you with your own pillow," I shoot back.
I need a way to get out of this.
"Baby, I've told you before I'm not into that kind of stuff, but hey we could try bondage if you like."
I smile sweetly at him. "Sure sweetie, as long as it ends with either me or you hanging with a noose around their neck."
Luckily, Scott and Stiles just arrive.
"Hey Devonford Prep," Stiles says as Scott pulls Liam away towards the school. I catch a glimpse of glowing yellow eyes and I pray that Scott can get him to calm down.
"That is a firm handshake you got there," Stiles rambles on to Brett.
"Stiles," I say getting his attention then flicking my eyes toward where Scott and Liam disappeared.
Stiles nods. "Well I'll see you all later at the game!" he says cheerfully, then grabs my shoulder pulling me toward the school.
"See you later, babe. Hate to see you leave, but love to see you go," Brett's voice calls after us.
"What's that guy's deal with you?" Stiles asks me as we make our way into the school.
"I honestly don't know. He's always been like that," I sigh.
"I couldn't beat him up for you but I could get Scott to probably," he grins.
"Thanks but I can handle it," I tell him, laughing. "I've dealt with it for a while."
Public school kids are so much easier to get along with, even the upperclassmen like Scott and Stiles.
Stiles and I reach the boys locker room and I glance around to see if anyone is around before entering. We are suddenly met with growling and the sound of rushing water. I round the corner behind Stiles to see Scott holding my brother under the stream of the shower as my twin growls and snaps is fangs as he struggles against the junior, his eyes glowing yellow.
Stiles joins Scott and helps him hold a struggling Liam until Liam starts coughing yelling "okay, okay I'm calm!"
They turn off the water and Liam sinks to the floor, dripping wet.
I stand there staring at my brother still in shock over what he is and what he can do. Just earlier today he was gripping his pencil too hard in class and it snapped right in half.
I zone back into the boys' conversation as Stiles exclaims "You're an IED?"
Both Liam and I flinch. We both hate the mention of his disorder. He's always not been able to completely have control over his feelings especially when he gets angry or frustrated, but it was never a problem until this past year with lacrosse.
"I have to play," Liam retorts. "If I don't they'll make my life even worse."
I sigh, rubbing my face in frustration.
Something bad is going to happen at the game. I just know it.
~â¢*â¢~
So I'm back with another fanfiction! And it's Teen Wolf! I decided to take a break with Luke and write about Brett cause he's my absolute favorite character in Teen Wolf.
I hope you enjoyed the first part. I'm not sure what my updating schedule will be, but I just hope people like it.
See you later, Wolfies!
