Soggy Situation

"So then, I'm suddenly running from Salt, Fan, Soap and Pepper all at once! And-"

OJ was soon interrupted by the feeling of a raindrop hitting his glass, his expression shifting from amusement, to surprise, to irritation.

Paper wore a similar expression on his face, sighing to himself as he tugged on OJ's arm, walking through the streets at a much faster pace.

"Ugh... c'mon, it was so sunny earlier!..-"

"I'm sorry... I didn't think we'd need the umbrella..."

"No, no, it's not your fault."

OJ still felt a little guilty, even if there was no real reason to. There weren't even that many clouds in the sky, and it was such a vivid blue colour not so long ago...

The rain was starting to pick up now, and Paper sped up to match its speed. More raindrops made their way into OJ's glass, and he groaned a little as he started to become diluted... it was affecting his mood, too, encouraging him to head back faster.

But even in that state... he had an idea.

"C'mon, I'll race you back!"

He started running much faster than before, laughing and smiling as he hurried as fast as his feet could possibly take him.

"OJ, we're still holding hands!-"

"So?"

Paper barely had time to process that response, sighing to himself and shaking his head, a small, enamoured smirk on his face as he joined in, matching OJ's pace as they ran back, giggling all the way as they watched the streets slowly turn to emerald grass and enchanting trees...

By the time their hotel was in sight, they were already flinging the doors open. Paper completely collapsed once he finally had a roof over his head, soggy and annoyed, while OJ simply rolled his eyes over how dramatic he was acting. He was only a little diluted... he could deal with that later.

"C'mon, let's get you dried up..."

"No... I can't... I just wanna stay like this for a bit..."

OJ shook his head, stepping closer to the soaked sheet of paper on the floor, offering his hand.

"But you have to, it's gonna take ages for you to dry like that."

He whined in protest, still refusing to move in the slightest.

"I don't care! I can barely stand, I'm not getting up."

OJ stared right at him for a few moments, trying to process what to do in this situation. He knew Paper well enough to say that Paper's adamant refusal often simply meant 'I want something specific and I'm not budging until I get it' and it only too a few moments for it to click in OJ's mind.

"I'll watch Desperate Housewives with you."

And just like that, Paper sprang to his feet.
