Kevin
was the only person Everett trusted to handle this matter.
Just as Kevin was about to hang up. Everett added one more thing
âKeep an eye on Heather.â
âHeather? Jeffrey just said she was with him when the boyâs missing occurred.â
âShe didnât go doesnât mean she didnât send someone else.â
Everett felt that the part Jeffrey mentioned about Heather during the incident was quite strange
Firstly, since when did she move to that farâoff place?
Moreover, in all the years he knew Heather, she never had a history of heart disease. Yet, at such a
crucial moment, she suddenly fell ill and was quickly rushed to the hospital, only to find out she was
fine.
This was suspicious.
âWright, Mr. Lopez, ill start checking her whereabouts now!
âDonât alert her. Iâm afraid sheâll do something to the kid.â
âOkayâ
As he hung up. Everett glanced out of the car window.
They were almost at the hospital. His emotions were a whirlpool of anxiety and fear.
He was scored
Scared that the results wouldnât be what he hoped for
He hoped that the child was indeed Dorothy and his. That way, even if she had truly moved on, he
would still have a child, which was a reason to keep living.
Jeffrey was frantic when the child went missing
He had pulled all his connections to search for the child, almost exhausting all his resources.
Actually, it was not that Jeffrey was particularly afraid of Everett blaming him, but that child was really
cute.
Jeffrey, who never had a fondness for children, felt that if the child was his, he would love and cherish
him dearly.
His search was so intense that he didnât even notice when Heather called.
By the time he saw the missed call, almost an hour had passed.
âWhat is it? Iâm busy.â
âBusy? Looking for the child?â Heather feigned surprise, âYou still havenât found him?â
There was no lead at all!
âI told you long ago, it must be the childâs family who took him. With such a vast number of people,
where would you even begin to look? Now youâve upset Everett, and the child is still missing. How can
he focus on his work? The Lopez Corporation depends on him!â âCan you stop talking? Iâm really
stressed out right now Jeffreyâs voice was fem, his tone harsh, âEverett just said the child might be
Dorothyâs. It scared the hell out of me. I still donât know if itâs
Heather was silent for a few seconds, then her voice instant
âWhat did you say? Dorothy?â
âYes!â
âBut you said she was infertile! You saw it yourself at the hospital!â
âThatâs why I never thought much about it.â
if he had thought harder, he might have realized it sooner.
âWhereâs Everett now?
âHes at the hospital checking records to see if Dorothy was really pregnant when they divorced.â
He frowned in imitation, took a deep breath, and hurried forward to stop a passerby. âHave you seen
this child? Heâs fairâskinned and has big eyes.â
The passerby glanced at him and shook his head. âNoâ
Jeffrey immediately went to ask another person
He regretted so much going to pick up Heather from the hospital! He should ve woken the child up and
taken him along.
