How could Jeffrey not know? It’s as clear as day – a done deal.

If Langston wasn’t Everett’s child, it would be a cold day in hell!

“Have you considered how to look into the child’s mother?

The Lopez family couldn’t just take in a child with an unknown origin! Besides, the appearance of this

child would stir up many things; it wasn’t just about the child.

Everett, of course wasn’t going to let it slide. He intended to investigate but didn’t want to rush into it.

“This kid seems to have some hostility towards me. I think instead of prying, it’s better to let him tell me

straight”

Jeffrey pointed at Langston, “Ha? He doesn’t know anything. What could he tell you?”

“Do you actually believe that he doesn’t know anything?”

Of course not.

Jeffrey even suspected that the child’s IQ might be higher than his own! Not knowing anything was just

an excuse for not wanting to speak.

After taking Langston back, Jeffrey escorted them to their house in Bay Residence before reluctantly

parting ways.

Of course, Langston didn’t forget about the computer and promptly provided Jefferey with the promised

number.

Once back at the Lopez Corporation, Jefferey intended to handle company affairs first, but his mind

wasn’t on his work. He pushed his keyboard aside and wrote down the number on a piece of paper!

This number was new to him..

Jeffrey had input it into his phone, but there was no match.

As soon as he received the number, he immediately compared it to Heather’s. Upon realizing it wasn’t

her number, he breathed a sigh of

relief.

He hoped it wasn’t Heather, he didn’t want to admit that he had once been infatuated with such a

ruthless woman.

“Knock knock….”

Suddenly, someone knocked on the office door.

Jeffrey looked up to see one of the people he had sent out to find Langston.

“Mr. Turner, should we continue the search?”

“No need, the kid’s been found.” Jeffrey paused, then handed the number to him, “Look into this

number for me to find out who’s using

“Understood, Mr. Tumer.”

With a new task, the man got up and was ready to left.

Jeffrey leaned back in his chair, looking at the number. Suddenly, he had an idea!

He called his assistant in, “Lend me your personal phone.”

Jeffrey used that phone to dial the number, and to his surprise, the call went through!

After a few rings with no answer, it hung up automatically.

This was within Jeffrey’s expectations, so he didn’t think much of it. However, soon after, a text

message come from the other side.

“Is this your new number?”

Jeffrey was surprised to see a reply! He quickly responded, “Yes, I have something to tell you, answer

your phone.”

After sending the message, before he could dial again, the call came in.

As soon as Jeffrey answered, a familiar voice came through.

“Any updates?”

It was unmistakably Heather’s voice.

It was her!

Jeffrey couldn’t be mistaken!

“What kind of update are you expecting?”

Heather was startled as soon as Jefferey’s voice rang out.

“It’s you! How did you get this number?!”

“Does it matter? Heather, you lied to me again!”

He had thought… he had thought that this time Heather was really being wronged! He thought Heather

wouldn’t stoop so low as to harm a child!
