âJeffrey, seriously? Are you being a sore loser right now?â
The way he was yelling at her, youâd think heâd caught his girlfriend cheating. But all they had was a
noâstringsâattached fling, and now heâs acting as if heâs got dibs on her?
â
Karen hadnât expected this from Jeffrey Mr. Heartbreaker himself.
She thought he would appreciate her slipping away quietly this morning, no fuss, no muss.
âWhoâs a sore loser?â Jeffrey always had a short fuse with Karenâs remarks.
âTake a wild guess?â
His clenched fists tightened, and oh, how he wished he could just shut her upâthe sass from those lips
only served to infuriate him further!
âFine, so you say that I am a sore loser, right?â In one swift move, he wrapped his arms around Karen,
pulling her tight against his chest. âThen I admit it! I am a sore loser!â
âGet off me⦠what the hell do you think youâre doing?â
âKaren, you owe me.â
Karenâs expression couldâve been mistaken for someone hearing a ghost story. She struggled to break
free, and just as she did, her hair got tangled with a button on his shirt!
Fuming, she was ready to just rip her hair out when suddenly Jeffreyâs hand caught hers. He was
smiling, his chest vibrating with suppressed chuckles.
âWhy are you always so fiery? Just untangle it, will you?â
âBack off! Let me go, the planeâs about to take off!â
She had been looking forward to a solid ten hours of beautiful sleep!
âIâm coming home with you,â he declared, having bought the ticket with no intention of disembarking
unless she did too.
âLike a bad penny, you always turn up!â
âThatâs right, I do!â
âYouâre sick. Return the ticket and save your money to see a doctor!â
While he untangled her hair, Jeffrey was laughing, completely unbothered by her insults. âAlright, weâll
go to the doctor together after we land.â
Karen was speechless, tugging at her hair to get away from him, only to feel a sharp pain at her scalp.
âEasy, Iâm almost done!â
And with that, Jeffrey pulled her even closer.
All Karen could smell was the faint scent of his cologne, transporting her back to the night before, when
he had her under him, demanding and taking without reserve.
Embarrassed by the flashbacks, she flushed, holding her breath, waiting for the moment her hair would
be free so she could push this man away for good.
Just as she anticipated his movements slowing, signaling he was about to free her, Karen tried to
move. Jeffrey, seizing the opportunity, gripped her wrist firmly and pinned her down on the reclined
seat.
âWhat are you doing? Weâre on a plane!â
âI think you know exactly what I want.â
âJeffrey, can we not do this right now? Iâm at a loss for words with you! If I had known you were this
clingy, last night I would haveâ¦â
His gaze sharpened. âYou would haye what?â
Karen shrank back, âJust⦠sit down, okay? Stop making a scene! You wanted to talk, didnât you? Letâs
talk.â
The last thing she wanted was to be the center of attention in first class.
âTalk for real?â
âYes, for real!â
Skeptically, Jeffrey pulled out his phone. âAdd me on WhatsApp.â
âCan we talk first before adding?â
Maybe after talking, he wouldnât want to add her anymore, so she wouldnât need to waste time deleting
him.
