chapter eleven

Today is the day, I'm going for work. I get up and stretch,I draw my blinds and let the sun sink in. Just then the door burts open and Liam comes running into my room with Marie close behind him.

By the looks of it he doesn't want to get dressed for school.

"Liam honey stop being naughty and get ready for school right now",I raise my voice a little so he knows that I mean business.

I get ready and apply a little bit of makeup, finishing my look with a nude lipstick.

We all have breakfast together and Enzo offers to drive Liam to school and I to work.

"Lotus I'm so sorry for yesterday I promise it will never happen again",I smile and tell him it's okay.

" Just tell Luciano I've apologized,he wanted to beat the shit out of me because of it",I laugh and we reach Liam's new school.

I speak with his teacher and they say I can pick him up later that day. I tell Enzo to make a detour to the doctor's office and looking at the time it's 8AM . I wonder if Luciano will be upset because I'm a little late ,who even shows up at work at 7:30 AM.

I meet my new doctor who's name ,is Edward. He is really handsome, blonde with blue eyes,he is also from L.A and just moved recently.

We exchanged numbers so we can meet later and have coffee or have something to eat. I look at the time and it's 9:30 AM.

We then reach the winery and I see Luciano waiting at the entrance and by the looks of it he's pissed but that's where the donuts I bought come in , though I eat three already from the box.

Enzo opens the door for me and I put on a nervous smile and get out the car. "Hey Luciano, how are you?,I brought donuts but eat three but that's besides the point,where do we start?".

He looks at me then at Enzo who just shrugs and says" I said you should be hear by 7:30 not 9:30 , what's wrong with you are you sure you want the job?".

" I went to the doctor's office, I'm sorry".

" The doctor that kept flirting with her ",Enzo says and I slap his shoulder. And the look Luciano gives me makes me shrink back. He sighs and motions for me to follow him inside. We go the elevator and Enzo remains in lobby to flirt with the receptionist who gave me a not so friendly look.

In the elevator I ask Luciano for another donut and he just sighs and gives me one. "I thought you said they were mine",he says while handing me the one with chocolate and pink sprinkles.

"Yes but I didn't say I couldn't have some".

The elevator stops and we head up to his office and he shows me another office connected to his,which will be mine because I'm his assistant. He goes ahead and introduces me to my other co-workers and I have a feeling that Giovanna the head of Human resources doesn't like me.

I'm tired and my legs are killing me so we head back to the office to get some work done.

During lunch Luciano walks in and offers to buy me some lunch,I look at him suspiciously and he rolls his eyes and takes a sit.

"I know I may have been a Jerk",I narrow my eyes to slits. He sighs and says" fine I was a jerk , let's just start over since we will be working together,we might as well get along to make work easier".

I pretend to think about it, and this irritates him" do you want food or not?,he asks.

" Of course I want food dah".

We walk out and Giovanna asks to join us for lunch,I really want Luciano to say no but he says it's okay, and I feel like folding my arms and stump my leg and demand she remains.

We walk out to the lobby and Enzo walks up to us.

"What's wrong lotus, Luciano what did you do",he glares at Luciano who is behind me and when he sees Giovanna,he bursts out laughing.

I roll my eyes at him and walk out to Luciano's car,who offers to open the door for me but I quickly do it myself. I sit in the backseat while Giovanna seats with Luciano in front.

We drive to the restaurant and Giovanna won't stop telling me about attending the annual wine tasting gala that the winery holds and being Luciano's date for five years straight. Like I care, why won't she just shut up,I didn't ask.

We reach the restaurant and I'm more than relieved,thank you Lord.

We are led to a table for three, Luciano tries to move the chair for me but I stop him,he can move Giovanna's chair since he likes her so much to take her as his date to every occasion. When he moves her chair she smiles like a fool.

I ask for the bathroom and a waitress leads me to it. As I handle my business I hear two ladies talking about Luciano. Being the nosey child of my mother I listen in to their conversation.

"Did you see Luciano and Giovanna walk in",one of them says. Oh so they didn't see me walk in with them. "They definitely make a great couple". This is ridiculous I will not stand such nosense.

I walk out and they stop their conversation and turn to me and walk out. I finish drying my hands and the door to the bathroom opens to reveal Luciano.

"What took you so long, I was worried"he says and runs a hand through his hair.

"Oh really, wasn't your everyday date interesting company for you,you even let her join her for lunch even when I signalled you not to",I hold my waist.

" So this is where all the attitude is coming from, because you're jealous that she's been my date to every wine tasting gala",he says and chuckles at the end.

" No it's just her perfume is nuaseous that's all,you Know I'm pregnant",I try to walk past him,but he holds my arm and stops me.

"Let me go Luciano,why are you even in the ladies room anyways",but he goes on and wraps his arms around my waist and kisses me. I feel like someone just sweeped the ground from my feet.

I pull away from him and rush out, I make my way to the table and find that Giovanna order for me, great just what I need. Luciano joins us and Giovanna looks suspiciously between us. I did into the because I'm hungry.

When begin to make our way out of the restaurant and I meet Edward.

"Hey Lotus,fancy meeting you here, how's your day going so far?",he asks.

" It's great how's yours Edward",I smile at him and his friend.

" It's good, this is my friend, Flavio",I greet Flavio,who looks like he just stepped out of a magazine"I'm still looking forward to our lunch date, maybe later I can give you a tour of Rome,I know some pretty cool places",he continues and I gladly accept.

We make it to the car and get in." Who was that?", Luciano asks. I was going to tell him to mind his own business because I'm still upset about him kissing me,but I kissed him back so I'm at fault as well.

"My doctor, what's wrong,why do you ask?",I bite my tongue.

" I see he's the reason you were late today you're even on first name basis with him, interesting",he says looking at me through the rearview mirror.

I sigh and say "just drive Luciano",Now Giovanna who was watching everything is looking at us intently. I was also going to tell her to mind her own but I don't want to be petty.

The drive back to work is quite and uncomfortable and I can't help but thank my stars when when finally reach.

Work goes on and Luciano and I don't talk for the rest of the day. Even when I asked him to give me Enzo's number so I can remind him to pick Liam from school he didn't answer nor look at me but called Enzo himself to tell him to pick my son.

It was time to go and I didn't bother to say goodbye to him but just made my way down to the lobby where I knew Enzo was waiting for me.

When he sees me he smiles widely and I just roll my eyes,"so bella signora how was work?,I noticed you were upset today don't worry my cousin only has eyes for you signora",hey we go. He open the door for me and I was about to enter when someone grabbed me and shut the door.

"Don't worry Enzo , I'll take her, you're coming with me principessa", Luciano says and literally drags me to the car.

"What is wrong with you Luciano",I say as he guides me inside and goes to the driver's seat.

"Why does a man , a doctor for that matter that you've met for the first time today call you by your name tell me I want to understand",I roll my eyes and look out the window. Is he serious right now.

"You have no right to be upset Luciano,I have every right to talk to whomever I please,so please take me home , I'm exhausted and my feet are killing me",I say.

" You know what I'm sorry, and you're right you've every right to talk to whomever you please and I'm sorry about the kiss earlier today, I went out of line",he says and turns the ignition on.

What does he mean he's sorry about the kiss does he regret it, because I don't. You know what screw it he isn't even a good kisser anyway so I don't care.
