Chapter 8 âCan anyone just claim they re Aster? Rumor has it that Aster is a man in his thirties You, are a young girl How dare you pretend to be him? Whatâs your endgame?â
Astrid glanced at the man before her, a tad annoyed âI can cure herâ
âCure her?â The experts present burst out in laughter âWeâre the top dogs in the medical field if we cant treat her how can you?â
Another expert chimed in âLooking at your age, youâre probably a Uni student still, right? Youâm just here to catch the eye of the rich bloke Wylie, hoping to bag yourself a wealthy hubby. Girl, get lost. This ainât your playgroundâ
âScram before you make a fool of yourselfâ
you actually manage to cure the old lady, weâll bow down to you!â
âBow down and hail me queen, you mean?â Astrid raised an eyebrow, âDealâ
She didnât necessarily want to clash with these folks, but she couldnât stand their short sighted attitude Astrid turned to Elio. âSir, will you be my witness?â
Elie didnât know what Astrid was up to, but he too was fed up with the soâcalled experts. So he nodded, âSure The experts didnât expect Elio to side with the young girl and exchanged surprised glances.
Astrid led everyone to the balcony and started treating the old lady.
Wylie was a nervous wreck âElio, is she really Aster? Isnât she too young?â
âDo you have any other options at this point?â Ello asked back, and Wylie just shut up.
Indeed, his mother was on her last legs and he was out of options.
Through the glass of the balcony everyone could see Astrid bustling around the old woman. She punctured many of the old ladyâs acupuncture points with silver needles and fed her some medicine. As time ticked by just when Astrid was about to leave, the old ladyâs hand suddenly relaxed!
The sight threw Wylie into a panic, âMom!!â
Wylie barged in, with the experts on the balcony trailing behind. Just when everyone thought the old lady had passed. A faint cough emanated from the bed. It was very faint, but it silenced the entire room. Elia glanced at the young woman next to him, deep in thought.
The heartbeat monitor on the bedside slowly returned to normal. Overwhelmed with joy, Wylle was about to thank Astrid, but she made a shushing gesture at him. She then calmly wiped the sweat from her forehead, sat back in her chair, and said to the experts, âAlright, kneel,â
The experts glanced at each other. They had only said that earlier because they were certain the old lady couldnât be cured!
They were big shots in the medical world. How could they kneel to a young girl? Even if the person in front of them was Aster, they couldnât kneel!
âThis must be a temporary improvement before her death!â An expert insisted, âHer current improvement doesnât mean she can survive until tomorrow.â âHmph.â Astrid sneered, âAre all âexpertsâ like this? Contradictory? Donât even take your own words seriously?â
The experts faces turned sour. Elio stepped forward, his voice cold, âKneel.â
Everyone felt a chill looking at Elloâs stern face. After all, the man before them was more than just a CEO. They couldnât afford to offend him.
Gingerly, one person knelt down. Seeing Elioâs increasingly stern face, the others also followed sult.
A room full of experts all kneeled before a young girl; it was indeed a sight to behold.
Elioâs voice was chillingly cold, âDidnât you promise to kneel to the queen? Didnât you forget something?â
