Yasminâs best friend? Eunice?
Yasminâs head shot up. âWhat have you done to Eunice?â
Blake said, âLast night, she spread rumors about my personal life online and insulted Giselle.
Giselle dropped by this morning to tell me that she wanted to hold Eunice responsible for her
words.â
Yasmin took a deep breath to calm herself down. âYou guys are going after Eunice for something as
menial as a headline?â
âWell, why didnât she consider the consequences of her actions before running her mouth?â
âShe was just standing up for me. Besides, she only got into a few arguments with some fans. She
didnât hurt anyone.â
âDo you really want her to get a lawyerâs letter?â Blake looked down at Yasmin. He didnât seem to
want to say anything else to her. He turned to leave.
Yasmin was taken aback for a split second. Then, she ran after him. âWhat are you guys trying to
pull?â
âGet in the car.â Blake got in without shutting the door.
She was afraid he would really go after Eunice, so she didnât dare to defy him. She got into the car
and tried to reason with him. âCan we just sweep this matter under the rug?â
âIt depends on how well you perform.â Blakeâs voice was calm.
Yasmin clenched her fists. After a moment of silence, she asked softly, âWill you guys let Eunice off
the hook if I follow you home tonight and perform well?â
âWe may have to spend a night there.â
Yasmin caught his drift. She nodded. âFine. Iâll follow your lead and make sure youâre
satisfied.â
âTie my tie.â Blake raised his head.
It was only then that Yasmin realized his tie was crooked. He couldnât even tie a tie without her
around. He looked like an elite, outstanding man but was actually an idiot when it came to the
practical side of life.
Yasmin mocked him in her heart and reluctantly reached out to undo the tie. Then, she noticed a
clear bite mark beneath his collar. She asked, âDid you sleep with Giselle this morning?â
Blake frowned. Then, the realization dawned on him. He chuckled. âYouâve forgotten already?â
âWhat?â
He loosened his collar and pointed at the bite mark on his neck. âA certain someone left this on my
neck last night after getting drunk.â
Yasmin stared at the bite mark as a scene flashed in her mind. So, sheâd been the one to leave
that? Suddenly, she felt a little embarrassed. âWerenât you with Giselle last night?â
He gave her an odd look. âI was at home the whole time.â
This took Yasmin aback. So Giselle had been lying? Was the call she made last night and the
misleading words she spoke carefully constructed to make Yasmin misunderstand?
In that instant, Yasmin was sure of one thingâGiselle was an intelligent, scheming bitch. She looked
up at Blake and met his gaze. He asked, âWhat? Are you that riveted by the sight of your bite
mark?â
Her face turned red. âSorry.â
She straightened his collar and tied his tie. They fell into silence when she was done. Yasmin didnât
have anything to say, so she shut her eyes to get some rest. No matter what happened, she would
only think of him as a stranger. Suddenly, the car stopped. She opened her eyes.
âGet out of the car.â With that, Blake got out, leaving her with the sight of his debonair back.
Yasmin looked outside. Theyâd pulled up outside a shopping mall. She followed Blake out of the car
and asked, âArenât we supposed to head to Ford Residence? Why are we here?â
âLook at how dowdy you are. I donât want people to make fun of me when we get to Ford
Residence.â
Yasmin clenched her fists at her words. She wanted nothing more than to punch a hole in hist head.
Why did someone with his looks and caliber have to have a mouth like that?
When they entered the mall, Blake strode into a female clothing store and picked a pink chiffon
dress from the rack. Whenever he bought anything for Yasmin, he would subconsciously pick
something pink.
