Blake ignored her and ran out the door. He found Yasmin by the club entrance. She was sitting on
the roadside, staring dazedly at the flowers by the curb.
Blake walked over.
Yasmin looked up just in time for him to grab her wrist.
He then wordlessly led her away.
Yasmin was surprised. âWhat are you doing, Blake?â
âWeâre going home.â Blake shoved Yasmin into the Cullinan and drove it back to Ford Residence.
Yasmin stayed silent the entire trip.
They didnât talk even after reaching home. Yasmin went to get her clothes, then entered the
bathroom to shower.
When she exited the bathroom, Blake was on the call with someone. Yasmin thought that it was
probably a call from Giselle.
Blake said over the call, âI wonât be joining you.â
Yasminâs heart clenched. She pretended she didnât hear it and dove under the bed covers to sleep.
All of this had nothing to do with her anymore.
Yasmin just had to treat Blake like a stranger and not mind everyg else.
The lights were soon switched off. Blake ended the call and came over to the bed. Yasmin felt the
bed sink slightly.
Blake then undressed himself and lay beside her.
His breath smelled like fresh pine needles.
Yasmin curled uncomfortably at the edge of the bed, her back facing Blake.
âJoel called earlier and said you won 2.1 million dollars,â Blake said all of a sudden, his gaze trained
on her back
So, Joel was the caller just now.
Yasmin hummed in assent.
Blake took his phone in hand. âHeâs transferred the money to me. Iâll transfer it to your account.â
âWill it all be given to me?â Even though they were won in Yasminâs name, it was still Blake
it all. who orchestrated the wins. So, she was still embarrassed to accept
âYes.â Blake leaned in, chin tucked against her back. It felt like he was trying to appease her. âWhich
account do you want me to send it to?â
Yasmin could pick up his scent stronger now.
Her back stiffened. She instinctively shrank away from him. âAlliance Union Bank. You can just
transfer 100,000 dollars to me.
Blake didnât understand why.
âI used two million dollars to open up that studio with Eunice without your permission before. Now
thereâs enough to repay you, so you can just transfer the 100,000 dollars to me, âYasmin explained.
Blakeâs gaze turned cold briefly. It felt like Yasmin was setting clear boundaries with him. He said
solemnly, âItâs not that I donât permit you to open that studio. Itâs just too tiring. If you want a career
in design, you can join Windmere Groupâs design department.â
Yasmin shook her head and said softly, âNo need. That department handles architecture. What
would I be able to do there? Thank you for your consideration before, Blake, but you donât need to
do that for me anymore.â
She didnât want people to say she was depending on Blake anymore.
She continued, âIvan wishes to work together with me. I saw him on the news and think heâs a pretty
stable guy. He doesnât seem like a con man.â
Yasmin had decided just then to work together with Ivan Burke.
But when Blake heard Ivanâs name, his expression grew cold. He grabbed Yasmin and stared at her
icily, saying, âI told you nothing in life comes for free. His terms are so appealing for
a reason.
âWouldnât it be better if he liked me?â Yasmin suddenly turned around to face Blake with a smile on
her face. âMaybe I could try dating him one day if I feel like getting into a relationship.â
Blakeâs expression grew colder. âWould you dare? I dare you to try and cheat on me.
âHavenât you cheated on me already?â Yasminâs smile never faded. She looked at Blakeâs frosty
expression and said, âYouâre blaming me when you already knocked Giselle up.â
