Yasmin felt a little awkward. âThanks for sending me home.â
âItâs what I should do. By the way, Iâve asked someone to send your car for repair. When itâs done,
Iâll let you know.â
âThanks so much.â
âItâs nothing.â Ivan smiled.
He was so detailâoriented.
Yasmin could only say one thing. âThank you!â
Ivan parked his car outside the Oak Garden. He peered at the minimalist villa with dark eyes. âYou
live here?â
âYes. Thanks for sending me home.â Yasmin didnât say anything further. She took the cake and got
down.
âYasmin!â Ivan suddenly called out.
Yasmin turned around, still holding the cake. The moonlight made her soft features dazzle. â What is
it?â
âI think youâre really great.â Ivan smiled softly. âBoth you and your work are great. What do you think
about working together with the NAS Group? We could start something revolutionary.â
Something revolutionary?
Yasminâs heart throbbed.
She would be lying if she said it didnât.
After working hard for so many years, she craved success. However, she still had the rational part
of her brain. She needed to understand Ivan better first. She would collaborate with him if he truly
was a man of integrity.
She beamed and said, âWith my hand in this state, I might need some time to think about it.
âNo worries. Iâll wait for your response.â
âLetâs talk about it when we meet again the day after tomorrow.â Once her arm was better,
she could revisit the topic of a collaboration.
âSure,â Ivan said before driving off.
Yasmin stood on the front lawn and watched him leave. She didnât notice Blake standing on the
balcony on the second floor, watching them.
The wind blew. Blakeâs handsome face was hidden in the shadows, wearing a threatening
expression.
Yasmin walked into the villa with the cake.
Blake came downstairs. Their eyes met. He was giving off a vibe that felt as oppressive as a
mountain on her shoulders.
She quietly took a breath and made up her mind to face him honestly. Smiling, she asked, â Mr.
Ford, youâre home.â
Back then, he used to only come home every two weeks. But these days, he was here all the
time.
Perhaps it was because his true love was now back in the country, so he didnât have to go abroad
as often anymore.
âWhere did you go?â Blake asked in an unreadable tone.
Yasmin raised her head and chuckled. âI was on a blind date.â
Blake thought that he had heard her wrong. Frowning, he asked, âBlind date?â
âYes!â she admitted openly. She changed into her home slippers and walked to the kitchen. Iâm
starving. Is there anything to eat at home?â
âWhy did you go on a blind date?â Blake trailed after her.
Yasmin put the strawberry cake in the fridge. She didnât feel like eating something cold so late at
night.
She walked over to the pot on the stove and found some warm soup inside. It must have been Mary
who left it for her. Every time she got home at night, Mary would always leave some soup for her.
Yasmin loved soup. She served herself some in a bowl. Then, she sat down at the table and drank
it slowly.
Blake didnât say much. He sat down across from her and waited for her to finish.
Once her tuminy was filled with the warm soup, she smacked her lips in satisfaction. Beaming, she
said, âThat was delicious.â
Blake pursed his lips. âYou still havenât given me an answer.â
âI wanted to go on a blind date,â Yasmind said. She might as well tell the truth since Giselle had
already told him about it. She didnât have to hide it.
âWhat do you mean, you wanted to go on a blind date? Did I agree to that?â
âWell, did I agree to the thing between you and Giselle?â Yasmin smiled. âI didnât, but you still did it
anyway. In that case, we should do our own thing.â
She was showing him her playful side to make her hate him. Then, theyâd get divorced
sooner.
