Yasmin was taken aback. She spoke softly, âWe didnât do anything.â
Annalise didnât believe her. She frowned and said, âIâm not saying anything to you because Giselle
was there just now. But what if she had caught you red-handed? If the baby in her belly was
frightened and something happened to it, could you take responsibility for it?â
Annaliseâs entire attention was on the baby.
Yasmin remained silent.
Annalise added, âI heard from Giselle that Blake got hurt this time because of you?â
Yasmin felt a sense of unease as she looked at Giselle in the
distance. Giselle was carrying a bag and wearing a white dress. She
smiled and waved at Yasmin.
Yasmin was truly impressed by that superficial woman-no matter when or where she could always
maintain a poised and grace
appearance.
Yasmin hummed in assent. After all, she couldnât deny the fa
Blake had indeed got injured because of her.
âI donât want to make a big deal about this, but I want you to know i time to end this. Up until now,
you still donât have any children, while the other person does.
âYou should just go ahead and get a divorce. Donât try to fight it anymore through your petty
behavior. Youâre not going to win.â
A sense of grief overwhelmed Yasmin.
Everyone just assumed that she was schemeful.
At that point, she was emotionally drained.
Seeing that Yasmin was silent, Annalise continued, âRemember our agreement. You need to get a
divorce from Blake as soon as
possible, or your father will never be released from prison.â
Yasmin was taken aback.
Annalise added, âYou have to make a choice. Do you want your marriage or your father?â
With that, she walked back to Giselle in her high heels, and said, âLetâs go, Giselle.â
âYasmin, weâll be heading off then,â Giselle said, waving to her. She helped Annalise into the car,
and they drove away as they chatted.
Yasmin stood in the yard, and there was no remaining glimmer of light in her eyes.
Annalise meant that if Yasmin did not divorce Blake, her father would never be released from
prison, not even after serving his full sentence.
That move was truly ruthless.
At that moment, she was truly backed into the corner and forced to follow Annaliseâs orders.
She smiled wryly, turned around, and saw Erik standing behind a tree, looking at her with a sly
smile.
Yet another meddlesome person?
Yasmin narrowed her eyes and spoke with a hint of annoyance. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI promised that I would take care of Blake, so I came back in the evening.â
Erik walked up to her, his arms folded across his chest, and looked at
her with amusement. âThough I didnât expect to overhear a secret when I got here. So, you had an
agreement with Aunt Anna? It seems like even Aunt Anna doesnât support your relationship with
Blake, huh?
××
Yasmin didnât want to listen to any more of his nonsense. âWhat do you want? Just say it.â
Erik looked down at her condescendingly. âI overheard that youâre willing to divorce Blake to get
your father out of prison.â
Initially, he thought Yasmin was playing hard to get, but he didnât anticipate that she intended to
divorce Blake.
Yasmin said indifferently, âIsnât that perfect? If I divorce him, he can be with Giselle, the woman you
like.â
Erikâs expression chilled as he narrowed his eyes. âWhat did you just say?â
âAm I wrong then? Your eyes would light up the moment you lay your eyes on her. Isnât that what it
looks like when you have a secret crush
on someone?â
Erik was caught off guard by Yasminâs words, and he s intently.
Yasmin added, âYou donât have to look at me like that. You wa to be together, and I need to divorce
him. Isnât this what everyon wanted? Since thatâs the case, you should be urging me to get a divorce
as soon as possible. That way, everyone will be happy.â
er
âAre you really this indifferent about it? After all, youâve done so much to obtain this marriage. Are
you willing to let it go so easily?â Erik didnât quite believe her.
Yasmin smiled and said, âCompared to my father, nothing else matters. Itâs quite simple if you want
Blake and Giselle to be happy.
All you have to do is go and persuade Blake to divorce me. Thatâs all it takes.â
