Jing Wan originally wanted to let someone have Li Ru Yu sent onto the Cheng Junwang Manor horse carriage, directly having her sent back, but Li Ru Yu was unwilling to cooperate, insisting on having her own two servant girls support her. Since it was like so, Jing Wan had no choice but to personally send her off. Just as she was about to get on the horse carriage, Jing Wan smilingly said, âThis subject awaits for junzhu to come find this subject again. When time comes, one will be sure to properly entertain junzhu, guaranteed to let junzhu feel at home.â
Li Ru Yu was sore all over, to the point where she was unable to stop trembling. She rather wanted to be more confident in front of Jing Wan, but unfortunately was unable to. Even if she gritted her teeth in hatred, she still didnât dare to curse Jing Wan again. She was afraid that Jing Wan would beat her again.
The so called, âto have such a master, then there will certainly be such servantsâ, normally arrogant and conceited, following by Li Ru Yuâs side, but this while, they too were like startled quails, timidly trembling in fear, not daring to breathe loudly. It was very obvious that after the two of them were taken down, they too were nicely âservedâ.
âLuo Jing Wan, what are you so pleased about? Your fiancee is gone, and very soon, heâll become this junzhuâs junma(husband of a junzhu). And this is all retribution for stealing big brother Lin. Right now, youâre nothing more than an unwanted lowlyâ¦â¦â¦..â
Seeing Jing Wan brightly smiling, Li Ru Yu forcibly swallowed back her next words.
âEverything junzhu said is correct. But, so what? Itâs just a cancelled engagement, not like one is unable to marry. This subject will definitely have another fiancee, just donât know whether or not junzhu will still have the ability to steal again? Junzhu rather can offer yourself up to let him sleep again, but, the first time getting slept by someone is valuable, but the second time wonât be worth anything. One short-lasting spring dream[1], and just slept with a junzhu. Although a broken shoe, he wouldnât be at a loss either, just treat it as having taken a stroll around the brothels, even the kind that doesnât need money. If others were to find out, they will certainly all flock to see, donât even need to trouble junzhu to personally go visit them, how nice, am I right? Just, that older cousin Min of mine will be a bit out of luck, donât know how green the cap on his head will become. However, by that time, even if youâre a junzhu, heâll still have an excuse to divorce you, no? Speaking of which, this subject rather thought of something. Last night, was it junzhuâs first time sleeping with someone? Seeing junzhuâs casual attitude, it seems as if youâre quite familiar. Mama, say, if junzhu had already lost her virginity beforehand, does it mean that older cousin Min wonât need to take responsibility?â
Gong mama very fittingly furrowed her brows, âJunzhu is someone of the imperial family after all. If she clings onto young master Min and doesnât let go, most likely, heâll still have to marry her. The imperial family needs to value their reputation, and young master Min canât get pinned a âcold and heartlessâ label either. That would be harmful to his future prospects.â
âOh, then older cousin Min can only compromise.â Jing Wan was very much disgruntled for her older cousin.
Li Ru Yu pointed to Jing Wan, violent shaking, yet could only stutter âyou, you, youâ for a while, and then fainted in anger, nearly dragging her two servant girls onto the ground with her. Gong mama rather kindly extended her hand.
âLooks like junzhu is tired. Then again, from scheming against older cousin yesterday to until now, havenât once calmed down, so itâs best to quickly send her back.â Jing Wan shot a glance at the carriage driver, whoâd heard everything yet didnât have any reaction.
Under Gong mamaâs assistance, Li Ru Yu was finally shoved onto the horse carriage.
Seeing the departing horse carriage in the distance, Jing Wan frowned, âThat carriage driver feels strange.â
âThere are many strange people in the world, who knows whatâs wrong with this one. As long as heâs a perceptive one, heâll know what he should say, and what he shouldnât say.â And towards the living Enma sending someone to follow this matter from beginning to end, Gong mama didnât find it strange in the least. However, the person picked this time wasnât suitable, letting miss notice some clues.
âItâs not that, mama, I was just thinking that this carriage driver looked familiar.â
Gong mamaâs heart skipped a beat. Truthfully speaking, even she couldnât tell who exactly was the person sent. Carefully thinking it over, whenever miss directly came in contact with the living Enma, the people by his side were always those few. Seemingly aside from Mu An, there was only the âsimultaneously holding onto the two position of both public and shadow guardâ An Yi left. As long as one checks whether or not the carriage driver just now was An Yi, one will know. If it really is An Yi, then a certain person will need to be even more careful when taking action in the future. After all, with miss being this sharp, if she were to discover something in advance, thenâ¦â¦â¦â¦
Gong mama sighed. Seemingly, even if miss discovers, the one to suffer a loss would still be miss. According to that living Enmaâs personality, since you already know everything, then thereâs no need for this prince to keep hiding it either. Afraid, heâll just openly and brazenly come to steal fragrance, visiting a maidenâs chamber nightly.
âThere are also many similar looking people in the world, perhaps miss just happened to have met someone that looked similar before.â
Jing Wan nodded. This was probably the case. Just a carriage driver, canât raise any waves either. Even if he had her words repeated to the Cheng Junwang couple, what can possibly happen? Would Cheng Junwang use this as an excuse to come look for them? Or would Cheng Jun-wangfei use this to ruin her(JW) reputation?
ââFirst timeâ, âsecond timeâ, and âbrothelsâ, these things, where all did miss hear from? These arenât things that a young miss should know about.â In front of outsiders, some words canât be said, but if her miss makes a mistake, she should still say what she needs to say.
âProbably inadvertently saw when reading. Mama, no need to that strict.â Jing Wan felt guilty.
âAt missâs age, even if one knows some things, it actually isnât that big of deal.â In large wealthy families, when a daughter reached a certain age, the elders would more or less all let them understand some âadultâ matters. In fact, there were even those yiniangs from special backgrounds that would even teach their own daughters ways to serve men in advance. âHowever, knowing is one thing, but saying it out loud is a whole separate matter. Letting someone hear, in the end, all wonât be good for Missâs reputation.â
Jing Wan hurriedly coiled around Gong mamaâs arm, âMama, I know I was wrong. Next time, I will certainly pay attention.â
âThis servant further hopes that miss wonât have a next time. However, miss has always understood propriety, and severity, rather donât need for this servant to say too much either.â
âI know mama is considering for my sake. Mama loves me the same as oneâs own daughter, your words, I will always listen and remember.â
âMiss is the master, this servant is a servant. As a servant, how is one worthy of treating the master as a daughter, disregarding hierarchy, very much inappropriate.â
âAlright, alright, mama, I spoke wrongly again. As my servant, one should have me at the center, considering for my sake on all things. And this heart, aside from me, canât have anything else, and doing things for me was all what one is supposed to do.â To say she was rigid, yet sometimes she would just let her master be impulsive. To say she disregarded the rules, yet she was also rigorously proper, unscrupulously abiding by etiquette. However, there was one thing that was certain, and that is she really did consider for Jing Wanâs sake on all things. In this world, afraid, it was very difficult to find a more loyal and devoted servant than her. However, this kind of person, how was her previous master willing to let her go?
âNaturally so.â
Jing Wan inwardly rolled her eyes, she just knew it would be like this.
Gong mama caught sight of Jing Wanâs action, and couldnât help but laugh inside. It was still best for miss to be a little more lively.
After returning, Jing Wan discovered, the room seemingly was filled with a somewhat peculiar atmosphere. The Chen family was awkward, while the people of the Luo family, a portion had a heavy look, while another portion had clear anger.
Seeing Jing Wan appear, the people of the Chen family looked as if they were seeing a savior. Chen third old master further smiled until his old face was full of creases, âThat, Wan Wan ah, you know, your older cousin Min, heâ¦â¦â¦.â
âThird (younger) brother.â Luo Old Madam neither lightly nor harshly interrupted his words. âWan Wan is just an unmarried young lady. The one hurt the most in this matter is precisely her. She is normally strong-minded, and also a gentle and considerate child, having all things concealed inside, not willing to reveal, fearing that we would worry. She doesnât blame Min boy, and even withdrew the engagement without any demands. Sheâs already able to do this much, donât know what third brother still wants? âââWan Wan, return to your own courtyard.â
Jing Wan roughly understood. This was after having the irrelevant people sent away, the two familyâs turn to quarrel. Although she lived in this world for more than ten years, in the end, she wasnât really someone ânaturally grownâ here. Some things, she ultimately canât completely incorporate into her own thoughts. For instance, she herself actually feel that this isnât anything major, but in other peopleâs eyes, this wasnât the case. At least, the rights and wrongs within needed to be reasoned.
âGrandmother, this matterâ¦â¦â¦â The cause of this matter actually was still on her. Although, in reality, she didnât do anything wrong either. It was all because of Li Ru Yu, that one with the broken brain, not properly reflecting on the problems on herself, having all the fault and resentment splashed onto Jing Wan, going as far as to say she stole Sun Yi Lin, and thus incurred her retaliation. If Li Ru Yu didnât say so herself, Jing Wan wouldnât have even thought to this point, only assuming that because she had repeatedly refused to give her face, thus offending her, thatâs why she(LRY) thought of such a move. This was purely a banditâs logic, but she precisely did this. The most innocent was actually still Chen Zheng Min. However, having easily gotten schemed against by a little girl, he really wasnât all that innocent either, or rather should say, also a bit incompetent.
[1] This is ancient lingo for one-night stand. Technically itâs suppose to be translated as âdew water romanceâ, but it sounds sorta weird, so I got creative. Dew water is figurative speech for âshort-lastingâ in chinese poetry.
T/N: Since there have been a lot of question about this issue, Iâm making a note here to clarify, Junzhus(é¡ä¸») are not imperial princesses(å ¬ä¸»). Only the daughter of an Emperor is considered an imperial princess. The rule about having the forfeit a career in officialdom only applies to marrying an imperial princess(å ¬ä¸») specifically. So in other words, the Emperorâs son-in-laws are not allowed to work in officialdom.
I know that junzhus often get translated as princess, which kinda bothers me, but I can understand because thereâs really no english equivalent. But in concept, the role and position of a junzhu is very different from that of an imperial princess so they shouldnât be lumped together.
