We arrived in Cancun after a 5-hour flight and got a cab to take us to the address of the resort Andre provided. The resort was beautiful and so far we had only seen the lobby. We were greeted by expansive, high ceilings adorned with intricately woven straw chandeliers that cast a warm, inviting glow. Rich wooden accents and marble floors create an elegant contrast, while large glass doors provide breathtaking views of the turquoise ocean just beyond. Lush greenery and vibrant tropical plants are strategically placed throughout, adding a touch of nature to the sophisticated decor.

Hotel staff immediately greeted us with two cocktail drinks as we entered the lobby. "Thank you." I smile happily, taking the pink fruity drink off of the tray.

"Off to a great start already." Dominic says taking a sip of his drink. We walked down the long hallway before reaching the check-in area of the lobby. Yelling could be heard as we got closer and to our surprise, Andre was having a heated conversation with the front desk attendant.

"This is ridiculous! How do you expect us to stay here like this?" Andre's loud voice boomed as Halle stood beside him with her brows furrowed. Dominic raises his brows in confusion as we make our way to the receptionist's desk where they both were.

"I'm sorry but your reservation is only booked under one room. We can have another room available in two days." The receptionist says defensively.

Andre scoffs, "That's half of our stay!"

"I'm sorry sir there's nothing we can do besides provide you with extra bedding. The other resorts are all booked for the spring break holiday."

"What's the problem?" Dominic asks Andre.

"These idiots only booked us for one room!"

"And it only has one bed." Halle adds.

"For all four of us? Sir there's got to be something available." Dominic asks the receptionist.

"I'm sorry sir but as I've told your friend this is peak season for us and we're all booked out. The next room will be available in two days." He places the key card on the counter, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, we will send some complimentary drinks to your room."

Andre scoffs, taking the key card from the counter. "At least the resort looks nice. And free drinks!" I comment, lifting my cocktail as I try to lighten the mood as we make our way to the elevator.

"Yeah, guys it shouldn't be too bad. We'll hardly spend time in the room anyway." Dominic adds.

Andre sighs, leaning against the wall of the elevator. "I just wanted things to go smoothly, is that too much to ask?"

"Hey, the trip only just started. Don't worry babe it'll be great." Halle says kissing him on the cheek as we ride up the elevator.

We get to the 10th floor where we're meant to be staying and enter the suite. The room was nice, modernly furnished, and equipped with a full bathroom, a small kitchen area, and one queen-sized bed. The room also came with a large couch and a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean.

"So which couple is getting the bed?" Andre asks with a raised brow.

"The girls are getting the bed. You and I will take turns with the couch." Dominic says making him frown.

"Fine, but I get the couch first." Andre replies.

"Fine by me." Dominic shrugs.

"Where will you sleep then, Dominic?" Halle asks.

He looks around the room trying to find what else can be used to sleep. "I can make camp right here." He says standing in a corner by the balcony.

I frown, "The floor is marble, that'll kill your back."

"I'll be fine. I'll get extra bedding from room service and make it nice and comfy, don't worry about me."

"This isn't fair, maybe we could ask the front desk for a mattress or something at least? Sleeping on this floor would be crazy." I say placing my bag on the ground.

"I agree." Halle says standing up from her seat. "I'm going down to the front desk again. Ami, you should join me."

"Guys it's okay, really." Dominic says.

I furrow my brow at him, "It's not. We'll be right back." I say before grabbing Halle's hand and leading her out of the room. "I'm glad you agree with me on this. It's ridiculous." I tell Halle as we make our way down.

She stops me as we're walking, "Okay, I have a confession."

I turn around raising my brow at her, "Yes?"

"I think this room situation is a good thing. And maybe we shouldn't fix it."

I frown, "What? You want us to all share a room the whole trip?"

She sighs, "No, not necessarily. I'm just freaking out a bit."

"About?"

"This whole trip." She admits with a sigh, taking a seat on a nearby bench. "Andre and I have never spent the night together alone."

"You haven't?"

She shakes her head, "No! I've never even been over to his place."

"You haven't?" I repeat in disbelief.

"No Ami, I haven't."

"Does that mean you two have never..." I ask.

"No."

I gasp, quickly sitting beside her on the bench. "Oh my gosh! Do you think you're ready?"

She shrugs, "I don't know."

I sigh, leaning back against the wall and analyzing the current situation. My brows furrow in confusion, "Why did you say yes to this trip then?"

She groans, leaning her head against the wall behind her in frustration. "Because it sounded fun! I want to take the next step but what if it's not what I expect?" She asks frantically.

I turn to look at her, "Halle, would he be your first?"

She nods again slowly as my eyes widen, "Wow. You need to talk to him about how you feel. I doubt he'd ever pressure you but you need to talk to him."

She shakes her head, "No way! We've been together for a couple of months now, it sounds crazy to tell him I suddenly want to take it slow."

"Halle if it's how you feel, it's not crazy. Talk to him." I assure her.

She sighs, "Okay fine I will, later."

"Good." I get up from the bench looking down at Halle. "Let's go handle this before the boys get suspicious as to why we've been gone so long.

She nods, standing up to follow me as we continue to make our way down to the elevator. The receptionist frowns when he sees us again. "Can I help you?"

"You have to at least give us a mattress or something." I reply to him.

"We cannot simply give extra mattresses away. As I stated before the most I can give is extra bedding." He says as he simultaneously typed away on his computer.

I frown, "Look, you gave us a room that normally fits two people. We are four people. And now because of your mistake, my boyfriend is contemplating sleeping on the hard ground. You're going to give us a remedy for the problem you created, okay?"

He looks up at me before letting out an irritated sigh. "I could see to getting an air mattress sent to your room for temporary use."

I nod, "And?"

He furrows his brows, "What do you mean and? I gave you a solution."

"Yes, for a problem you created. I think we need to be compensated for the pain this has caused us. Wouldn't want to have to write a bad review." I reply giving him a gentle smile.

He sighs, sliding four vouchers across the counter. "Complimentary spa vouchers. For the back pain."

I smile happily, taking the cards off the counter. "Gracias."

Halle laughs as we walk back down to the elevator. "That was beautiful."

I smile proudly, "Thank you, I try."

"And did I hear you call Dominic your boyfriend?" She asks with a smirk.

I scoff, "Oh please you want me to explain the situation to the receptionist? It's just much easier to say he's my boyfriend."

"I mean he kind of is your boyfriend."

"He's not my boyfriend, yet." I said as the elevator began to make its way up.

"Do you think maybe that'll change by the end of this trip? I mean look at this place it's the perfect opportunity to make things official. That would be so romantic." She gushes.

I shrug, "I don't know. Dominic thinks that the idea of a relationship with him freaks me out."

"Does it?"

"Just a bit."

The elevator arrives at the tenth floor allowing us to make our way to our suite. "Ami why?" Halle asks as we walk, "Anyone with eyes can see how into you he is."

I bite back a smile, stopping in the hallway. "Really?"

"Duh! Andre says he's whipped."

I chuckle, continuing to walk. "I do agree. I know he really likes me and I really like him. It's just a bit scary so we're taking it slow."

She nods, "That's understandable. I kind of wish Andre and I would slow down." She says with a sigh, "I mean he's great don't get me wrong and I don't feel pressured about anything. But sometimes I just want things to slow down."

I nod in understanding, "I get that, especially when everything's so new."

"I guess they're both just eager."

I smile, "I do like it though."

We make our way down the hall until we reach our room. The guys were on the balcony when we arrived, sitting back and drinking champagne that had been recently delivered.

"Hey baby." Dominic greeted me as I stepped out onto the balcony with Halle. He pats his lap motioning for me to sit down just as Halle did with Andre.

I chuckle, "You'd love that wouldn't you?" I say pulling another chair out and taking a seat. "I got you an air mattress, they should be bringing it by soon." I say as I rest my feet on his lap.

"And she got us free spa vouchers, you guys should've seen her." Halle adds.

Dominic chuckles as he begins caressing my legs. "Spa vouchers and an air mattress? You're the real hero of this trip."

I chuckle, "Don't patronize me I just thought it wasn't fair."

"It isn't fair. I'm happy that idiot receptionist decided to at least hear one of us out." Andre says.

"Regardless it's a better situation now. Thank you." He says kissing my knee gently making me giggle.

I flinch, "Don't do that I'm ticklish."

He raises a brow making my eyes widen as his lips touch my knee again. He holds my legs in place to feverishly leave kisses on my leg making me laugh out loud. "Dominic stop it! You're a sicko!" I exclaim.

He laughs finally letting go of my legs as I remove them from his lap.

"Aw such a cute couple." Andre teases, making Halle giggle from where she sits on his lap.

"Shut up simp. Why are we still up here? I'm starving." Dominic says.

It was late evening now and we hadn't done much since arriving due to the sun already setting by the time we arrived.

"We should start getting dressed for dinner." Halle says.

"Dibs on showering first." I call out making her frown as I smirk.

"We'll wait here while you guys get dressed. I'll call and make a reservation for 10pm." Andre says.

"10? Isn't that late?" I ask.

"There's one bathroom and it's already 8 o'clock, I think 10 is even a risky estimate."

Halle chuckles, "That's fair."

I nod in agreement getting up from my seat, "I'll be quick."

"She won't." Dominic whispers to Andre, making me hit them as the two laugh.

-

Just as they guys predicted we were both not quick, as 10 o'clock neared and we were still adjusting our makeup.

"Guys they will take our reservation away." Andre whines as I add an extra layer of blush to my cheeks.

"One second!" Halle calls as she straps on her shoes.

"Done!" I call out grabbing my bag as Halle stumbled next to me.

She lets out a tired breath, "Same here, and with two minutes to spare."

Dominic and Andre chuckle before getting up from their seats. Andre's hand snakes around Halles' waist as they make their way out of the room. Dominic offers me his hand to take and I do happily as we make our way down to the hotel restaurant.

"You look beautiful." He compliments looking me over.

I smile, "Thank you. I think I deserve credit because I thought getting this together in under 2 hours would be impossible. Especially with the straps on this thing." I say adjusting the straps on the back of the dress.

I wore a cream-colored backless strap dress with an unnecessary amount of straps holding the back of the dress up. It was long and full length with a high slit and a halter top neckline. It was something simple yet sexy for our first night in Cancun.

"Here let me help you." Dominic offers. Suddenly he's behind me, tying the straps of my dress as his fingers gently graze my lower back, making me shiver from his touch. He chuckles gently, "You cold?"

I shake my head, "I'm fine, just finish." He continued and after a few seconds, he was done and standing beside me again. "Thanks." I said just as the elevator opened to the first floor.

The dining area was lively and filled with people as we waited for the host to prepare our seats. Floor-to-ceiling windows showcased panoramic ocean views, that would allow natural light to flood the space if it weren't nighttime. Instead soft, ambient lighting creates a warm and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a romantic dinner.

"Right this way." The host says appearing in front of us again. She leads us down the dining area to our seats. The tables are elegantly set with crisp white linens, each table offers a view of the turquoise waters, and many of the guests were positioned on a spacious outdoor terrace.

The host stops walking directing us to a round table with four seats. We take a seat, Dominic next to me as I face Halle and Andre beside her facing Dominic.

"Your server will be with you shortly." The host says as we take our seats. We mumble out thank you as we begin skimming through the menu.

"This place is so nice." Halle comments, her eyes wide with excitement as she looks around the restaurant.

"Yeah looks very pricey." Dominic comments, narrowing his eyes at his best friend.

"Nothing I can't handle. Get anything you want babe." He says smiling at Halle. Dominic continues staring at Andre. I couldn't sense what was happening but decided to change the subject. "So what's the plan for tomorrow?" I ask.

"I planned something for us, group activity type stuff." Andre replies.

"Like what?" Halle asks.

"Now that is a surprise." He says with a wink.

"Is it an expensive surprise?" Dominic asks narrowing his eyes once again at his friend.

"No. Actually, it was very inexpensive, for your information. I got a great deal." Andre retorts back. He picks up the menu, looking it over. "The steak looks good."

"It's also $200." Dominic reminds his friend.

Andre narrows his eyes at him, but before he can say anything the waitress appears.

"Welcome to Chambayo, my name is Lena and I will be your server for tonight. Can I get you guys started with anything?"

"Yes, I think we're ready to order." Andre says.

The waitress smiles at him, "Excellent, what can I get for you?"

He looks to Halle, "What do you want?"

"Can I get the gnocchi pasta?"

"And I'll do the rib-eye steak? Medium rare." Dominic clears his throat, making Andre look at him. "Yes Dominic?"

"Shouldn't you get like the salmon? Or a pasta?"

Andre frowns, "No, I want the steak. After all, everything is all-inclusive. Right Lena?"

The waitress nods, "Yes, everything is included."

Dominic raises his brows, "Well, in that case, I'll also take the steak. New York style with potatoes, medium rare."

"Coming right up, and for you ma'am?" She asks me.

"I'll do the salmon."

"Alright, I'll get those out for you guys." We thank her as she takes our menus and makes her way back to the kitchen to put in the orders.

"This place is nice." I comment, taking a sip of my complimentary water.

"Very." Halle agrees. There was a brief silence resulting from the tension between Dominic and Andre. Suddenly the waitress appears again with cocktails on a platter.

"Complementary drinks for the handsome men and their friends." She says placing the drinks down in front of us. Halle and I glance at each other with raised brows before the waitress stops, bending down to Andre's level. "I added an extra something in there for you." She whispered playfully but loud enough for all of us to hear.

She winks before walking away leaving Halles eyes wide. "How nice of her. Free cocktails!" Andre exclaims happily. He reaches over to drink it just as Halle hits him on the head. "Ow what?"

"Don't drink it? What does she mean she put something extra? And drinks for the handsome men and their friends? You're not going to correct her?" Halle asks, visibly angry.

"I didn't get the chance! You know you're not just my friend." He defends.

Halle scoffs, pushing the drink to the center of the table. I did the same, not wanting any part of her mystery drinks.

The waitress returns this time with our food. "Okay, here you guys go! New York cut steak, medium rare with potatoes. Salmon and asparagus. Gnocchi, and Ribeye for the gentleman."

"I just wanted to clarify, these are our girlfriends. Thank you for the drinks though." Andre clarifies.

"Oh, bummer." She says with a fake smile, "Let me know if you guys need anything else."

"We won't." Halle says returning the fake smile. The waitress frowns at her before making her way back to the kitchen. "Wench." Halle mumbles under her breath making me snicker.

"Aw was my baby jealous?" Andre chuckles.

"Don't tease me. I'm still not happy with you."

He frowns, "But I told her off!"

"' Thanks for the drinks' isn't telling her off." I reply with a chuckle.

"So how should he have done it? Thrown them in her face?" Dominic asks.

"Yeah I didn't want to be an asshole, she's still handling our food." He defends.

"No of course not, but it's quite obvious that I'm not your friend. She was being a bitch." Halle clarifies.

"So he did the right thing. He clarified it to her and shut it down." Dominic says.

I chuckle, "Not soon enough. He was more than happy to get the free drinks and her attention."

He scoffs, "Ami it was not like that. I love free shit!"

Dominic nods, "It's true."

I shake my head, "Halle is better than me because if she did that to Dominic I would've-" I stop myself from continuing as Dominic raises a brow, clearly intrigued.

"You would've what Amina?"

I shut up, stuffing a piece of salmon in my mouth as my cheeks turn red. Everyone laughed as we continued our dinner.

After dinner, we split apart into pairs to walk off dinner and explore the resort. The moon was shining in the distance as we explored the cabanas and pool area of the resort. The water could be seen from all corners of the hotel and the water crashed loading against the shore.

"What was going on between you and Andre at the beginning of dinner?" I ask as we walk.

He sighs, "It was only when we got here that I realized how much he had spent. I'm concerned he's surpassing his budgetary limits."

"Isn't that for him to worry about?"

"Yes, but I know my best friend. And I know he really likes Halle, so I'm worried he may try to go overboard to impress her."

I smile softly, "In a way that's sweet."

"I suppose." He chuckles, "Speaking of, what was going on with you at dinner tonight? What is it that you would've done to that waitress if she did it to me?"

I blush again, embarrassed at myself. "Shut up."

He shakes his head, chuckling lightly, "No for real, tell me. I didn't know you were so territorial. It's nice to know."

"I'm not territorial. I just don't tolerate disrespect." I clarify.

He chuckles, "Oh really? So if a woman came up, and it's common knowledge that she's interested in me. You'd be cool with me hanging out with her?"

"Why the hell would you want to hang out with someone interested in you?" I ask.

"Why not?"

I raise a brow as I stop walking, causing him to continue before he realizes I have stopped. He chuckles, "Amina I'm joking. I don't want to hang out with this fictional woman."

"Good."

He smirks, "You're the only one I want."

"Oh yeah?" I ask with a raised brow.

His hands catch my waist as he pulls me to him, "Definitely." Before bringing his lips to mine, making me smile.
