"I know I hurt you Chloe bug and I wished so many times I could’ve changed leaving you. Mom told me I was an idiot. I wanted to phone you. You have Yanis now. If doing so would jeopardize his safety would you do it?"

“Mom, what can I do to fix it? I love her so much!”

“Unfortunately, Machen there’s nothing you can do to heal her broken heart. She’s marinated 3 years in this pain. What did you hope would happen, Machen?”

“What about Pixie?”

“I was holding on to the fact we might meet again. She wants nothing to do with me now!”

I cried in my mom’s arms for hours. It was well into the early morning when I went to bed. I needed to rest for a few hours or I’d be no good for work. I closed my eyes and dreamed of Chloe. She was so beautiful. She was sitting on a stool preparing sketches. Yanis and I were watching her from a far. She looked up to see me looking and continued drawing after she gave me that beautiful smile of hers.

I got Yanis in bed and asleep. I headed to our room and pulled off my clothes. She yelled at me from the shower to put them in the basket. I giggled, she knew me well. I looked you up and this was the address I was given. I stopped at the front desk and told them your son and I were here to visit. I hope it’s okay, I know you have to work but I remembered you said your mom was here and I wanted to give her a chance to meet him.”

“It’s fine come in. Ava and her mom are here as well. I was just about to head out but I can stay a little longer.”

“Oh if it’s an inconvenience I can come back later”

“No it’s fine. Eventually we all would have to meet.”

She came in and Yanis gave me a big hug.

“I missed you daddy. Why couldn’t you stay?”

“Yanis! Be a good boy and come say hello to your grandmother, Lena.”

“Hello grandma Lena.”

“Call me Nana, Yanis, Ava does. She’s your sister and this is her mom, Miss Pixie.”

“Well aren’t you adorable. You look like your father. Hello Chloe it’s nice to meet you.”

“Hello Pixie, the feeling is mutual. Do you live close by? I was thinking maybe Ava and Yanis could do some bonding before we left. I was going to get your contact info from Max.”

“No need, Ava spends most of her time with Machen so you could just bring him here. I have to be going now, but it nice to meet you again. Machen she’s beautiful, how’d you fu- mess that up?”

“See you later Pixie.”

She left and the atmosphere seemed to relax more. I offered Chloe a seat, but she declined. Yanis took a liking to mom and climbed in her lap and went to sleep. Ava got jealous and climbed in her lap as well. Mom was enjoying the love of her grand babies. Chloe asked if she could leave Yanis with her for a few hours. Mom agreed she could. I was going to speak to her about Pixie and I, but she told me that was none of her business.

“Your private life is none of my concern. You might want to shower though, I can smell her on you.”

I blushed in embarrassment. I quickly hurried to my room and washed off in the bathroom. When I returned, Chloe had already gone. I was going to be pushing it now to get to work on time. I kissed my kids and my mom and hurried to the parking garage.
