Chapter thirty-one: Cuddles (Ellie's POV)
I got in the car, extremely happy that today was Friday. Two weeks of Zach's suspension were done and he'd be back with us on Monday. This entire week, I hated being at school. He was there in the library waiting for me to drop by every single day.
The whole week I tried avoiding James but failed miserably because all he seemed to want was to get back together with me. I thought because he knew this week is all he had, he was trying to make the most of it. When Zach comes back next week, I doubt he'll try this hard.
"Hi," I grinned, turning to face him.
"Hi," he smiled back at me, leaning his head against the headrest.
"Kiss," I pouted, puckering my lips. He laughed before leaning forward and placing his lips on mine. He pulled away after a while and started the drive back to the apartment. Once we got there and he parked, he turned off the car and faced me. "Kiss," I puckered up again.
He pecked my lips, leaving me frowning before looking at me. "Date," he said mockingly.
"Huh?" I blurted out.
"Tonight, at eight o'clock. Drive-in movie. It's a date," he shrugged.
"Y-you're asking me out on a date?" I asked, utterly dumbfounded.
"Is that a problem?" he smirked. "
No," I shook my head, "No problem." He sighed and faced me.
"It's not a big deal," he shook his head.
"I know, I just wasn't expecting it," I replied honestly. I wasn't upset that he asked me out for a date, just surprised. I didn't expect it, especially right now.
"I love seeing you shocked and surprised, you look so cute," he mumbled while climbing out of the car and running over to my side to get the door. Another habit he's developed over the week.
"Why are you suddenly all gentleman-y? You never used to open doors for me," I pouted as we headed to the elevator.
"We weren't exchanging kisses and cuddles then," he shrugged.
"So, you're only a gentleman when you're into a girl?" I arched an eyebrow at him.
"I'm polite to all the ladies, right? At least I try to be. But I'm only a gentleman for one," he winked as the elevator doors opened.
"Hmm, well I like gentleman Zach. He's nicer," I replied.
"Gentleman Zach can be mean," he shrugged as the doors closed once we stepped inside and he took a few steps closer to me, enough to back me up against the wall.
I shook my head with a soft chuckle. "Gentleman or not, you're always going to be a troublemaker. You'll always break rules, always charm your way out of situations, always wicked at heart," I giggled.
"Wicked isn't necessarily evil. I can be nice, but nice is just so..." he trailed off.
"Boring?" I finished the sentence for him.
He looked down at me with a smirk. "Boring, that's right. And you wouldn't want to be bored now, would you?" he asked.
I shook my head slowly in response.
"Good, because I like being evil," he shrugged before taking a step back and standing straight up.
The guy doesn't always have to be a saint. Sometimes being a little sinful is better.
"And evil you shall remain," I sighed, pushing myself off the wall as the elevator dinged open and we stepped out, walking to the apartment.
"You know, to be honest, I don't think you genuinely like gentleman Zach. Maybe occasionally, for a change. But you couldn't be with such a goody-two-shoes. You'd lose the little thrill you have in your life without me," he teased while we went to the room.
"You were gone two years and I think I did just fine," I retorted.
"Hmm, well... Two years surely worked wonders for you then," he said while eyeing me up and down.
"And you?" I laughed. "You weren't a muscular, strong, greek-god person back then. You were somewhat the same though, it's like everything was amplified in England," I said while looking through my clothes.
"I thought you'd say that," he replied.
"Why?" I questioned.
"You stare a lot. At my abs. And my face. So..." he continued tauntingly.
"You stare at me more, for sure," I scoffed.
"That's not true," he argued.
"My face, my legs, my eyes, in fact," I said without turning around to face him and continuing to look for clothes for the date. "I bet you're staring at my ass right now." I just knew he was.
"Guilty," he mumbled.
"I don't get what you see though. Nothing special here," I shrugged while grabbing a pair of denim shorts and a cropped hoodie.
"You don't see it yet," he sighed while I turned and found him walking over to me. "But you will. I'll make you if I have to," he smirked before kissing me.
âââ ï½¥ 。ï¾â: *.â½ .* :âï¾. âââ
He opened up the trunk where there were blankets, pillows, snacks, and a hoodie.
"Is that for me?" I laughed while pointing at the hoodie.
"Who else am I gonna give it to?" he asked as we climbed in and got comfortable.
"Your girlfriend maybe?" I suggested.
"I don't have one," he replied while pulling me to lay between his legs, resting against him. I looked up at him. "Yet," he winked.
"You think I'm going to be your girlfriend?" I snorted. Not that I didn't want to, I just knew he wasn't the type to date. He would really have to like a girl to commit to her.
"Well, I can bet one day we'll be married and have kids but some people," he gave me a pointed look, "Wouldn't agree with that," he scoffed.
"I don't agree with it because I can't predict the future. Who knows what could happen?" I shrugged while people began parking their cars.
"I know," he said, "We will have kids," he nodded.
"If you can stay with me for that long then sure, what will they be?" I asked, playing along with him. We weren't being serious here, at least I don't think.
"Twins. A girl and a boy," he replied.
"I bet you have names as well," I chuckled.
"I sure do," he smirked, "Noah and Olivia."
"Why Noah and Olivia?" I questioned.
"I don't know, they're just good names, they sound good," he replied while grabbing some chips and handing me the packet.
"That's exactly what I thought you were gonna say," I laughed, "Pick your kids' names because they sound good. No other reason."
After five or so minutes, the parking lot began filling up, and then the movie started. To be fair, we weren't watching. We were just talking and cuddling. There were cuddles. Lots of cuddles.
He sighed while lifting me onto his back so I straddled him. It felt foreign, but the nice kind. The kind that gave you butterflies and increased your heart rate. That kind that could tear you apart.
"Have I told you I liked you yet?" I asked sarcastically while brushing his hair out of his eyes.
"Mm-mm, I don't think so," he replied.
"Good, because I don't," I shrugged.
"God, I hate when you do that," he mumbled.
"I know, that's why I do it," I retorted.
"Well, don't," he huffed.
"You wish," I chuckled. We fell into a somber silence. It felt a little sad, I don't know why.
"Do I have to ask you to kiss me?" he asked.
"You have to beg for it," I smirked.
He rolled his eyes at me before our lips crashed and what started slow and tender turned into a heated and passionate kiss.
The kiss was hazy in my memory. I grabbed fistfuls of his shirt, ran my hand through his hair, rested my hands on his burning skin under the shirt while his hands rested on my waist under my hoodie, occasionally, he would grab the back of my neck and pull me in closer if that was possible, he would slip his hand into my back pocket, I noticed it was like a habit. I thought it was cute.
"We should stop," I said breathlessly, nearly panting when we broke away, our foreheads pressed against each other's, our lips brushing.
"We should," he agreed, "But will we?"
I stared at him.
He looks very inviting, it's making this really hard.
"Maybe a little more," I shrugged before pulling his lips back to mine. I remember him trailing kisses down my neck, me doing the same, and then both of us breaking away. That's the last thing I remember before we began paying attention to the movie, recalling that we weren't alone here.
I must have fallen asleep because the last thing I saw was him carrying me into the apartment and setting me down on the bed before I knocked out completely and lost my senses in my slumber. I haven't slept that fantastically in a long time.
Must be all the kisses and cuddles.
It must be.
