Chapter 114 Antonio couldnât help but feel lost as he watched the affectionate bickering between the two.
He clutched the IV tube so tightly that the drips couldnât get through, and his blood began to flow backward.
Yet, he seemed to feel no pain, staring intently inside the ward.
Graceâs relaxed and gentle demeanor was something Antonio had only seen in his dreams.
In reality, whenever she was with him, she was as stiff as a block of wood. Her gaze often held affection, but her words were always cold and emotionless.
As Antonio brooded in jealousy, a nurse, finishing her rounds, caught sight of the bloodâstained tube and rushed over with a scream.
âOh my, my, let go! Donât you feel the pain?â
The commotion caught Graceâs attention. She turned her head and saw Antonio outside the window with a sour face.
âWhat is he doing here?â A flicker of confusion crossed Graceâs mind.
After just a brief glance, she turned back, sat down, and dozed off while holding Devinâs hand.
After more than an hour of sleep, Grace awoke with a yawn to find Devin also asleep in bed. She hurriedly placed his hand back under the quilt.
She then noticed that the glass was empty, so she picked up the kettle and was about to refill it. Just as she looked up, she saw Antonio.
miss a single change in her expression.
âDo you love him?â
This question hit straight to Graceâs heart.
She tilted her head and pondered for a long moment.
Then she slowly nodded and replied in a firm tone, âYes, I do. Heâs my husband, so of course I love him.â
Antonioâs face instantly drained of color.
He said in a shocking tone, âYouâve only been married to him for a month!â
âSo what? Weâre together day and night, sleeping in the same bed. In this way, affection grows easily.â
Antonio felt as if a boulder had lodged in his chest, making it hard to breathe.
He moved his lips but couldnât utter a word, his eyes brimming with jealousy and rage.
Seeing his silence, Grace didnât want to waste any more time. She turned to refill the kettle and then headed back to the ward.
As they were about to pass each other, Antonio grabbed her hand.
Then he said in an unquestionable tone, âDivorce him!â
Held back by him, Grace couldnât help but look up at him with an expression as if he were insane.
âDivorce? Thatâs impossible. Iâve made up my mind to be with him for life.â
Her words broke all the illusions Antonio had been clinging to.
For the first time, he realized that Grace was irreplaceable to him.
This finally occurred to him after he had lost her completely, and it was too late.
The thought of her never coming back to him made Antonio feel like the world was crashing down.
No longer caring for his pride, he looked at her with pleading eyes.
âGrace, leave him and come back to me, please?â
