Chapter 66 âLooks like the surgery cleared your head this time,â Jarvis said, as mean as ever.
I smiled and said nothing. He packed up his things and put a chocolate on the table. âEat it when your condition allows.â
I watched him, but he didnât look back. He simply turned and left. As the door closed, I glanced at the chocolate.
It was the same one I had posted about on social media a few days ago.
That day was my birthday, and though I rarely indulged in chocolate as a child or an adult, I had a sudden craving.
I mentioned it to Antonio several times, but he brushed me off, thinking I was being childish and asking why I couldnât just buy it myself.
Again, he hung up on me.
I searched everywhere but couldnât find the filled chocolate I craved.
Feeling despondent, I posted on social media, saying I might never find my favorite chocolate again, with an old photo of it.
Antonio commented below, âAre you done?â
Long ago, Eloise sent me a picture of the chocolate, asking if it was the one I wanted. I was a bit confused but thrilled and told her it was.

208 Wouters Chapter 66 She replied, âAntonio bought me this.â
I cried all night, hurt by Antonioâs words. Even now, thinking about his words made me feel so hurt.
I Seeing the chocolate again, I couldnât help but smile.
I couldnât enjoy it yet, but I snapped a picture and shared it online. To my surprise, Antonio was the first to like it.
He even commented, âDid some other guy buy you this?â
I ignored him. It was the first time in years that I chose not to respond to him.
Half an hour later, he started bombarding me with calls and messages.
But my phone was on silent while I was undergoing tests. When I finished, Jarvis stopped me.
We talked about my condition.
Halfway through, Antonio stormed in and angrily pulled me away from Jarvis.
âWhat are you doing? You want a divorce just to run back to your first love?
âHave you no shame, flirting with him in our hospital?â Antonio hissed. Jarvis tried to speak, but I stopped him.
I pulled out the surveillance videos I had been collecting from the hospital.
I had planned to show them to the judge to prove our marriage was over. But here Antonio was, practically begging for an insult.
So I played the videos.
The first one showed him and Eloise hugging in the operating room and kissing in a corner of the ward.â
Other videos were filmed during my previous hospital stays. While I was unconscious, they were flirting, even kissing by my bedside.
If I hadnât seen the footage with my own eyes, I wouldâve never believed they could be so shameless. âSo who has no shame now?â I asked.
I even looped some of the most disgusting clips. Antonio, furious, tried to take my phone.
I laughed. âWhere did all that confidence go? Iâm just showing everyone how âpureâ your friendship with Eloise is.â
