Chapter 91 After a long while, Andrew slowly said, âHi, guys.â
Rhett patted his shoulder without saying anything, knowing that he was worried about Grace.
Colin, who was always naughty, watched the door of the operating room. nervously. Time seemed to slow down although the clock kept ticking.
Finally, eight hours had passed.
Grace emerged from the room, looking exhausted.
After reassuring Colin, who was sleeping, Rhett moved forward to hold Grace.
Despite the redness in his eyes, Andrew asked, âMs. Parrish, how is it?â
Grace pinched her eyebrows and nodded. âThe operation was successful. Grace will probably wake up this week. She will need to remain hospitalized for monitoring potential rejection responses.â
Andrew finally felt relieved, his face almost breaking into a smile but not. quite managing it.
Rhett kneaded her palm distressedly. âIâll take you to rest.â
Grace shook her head, changed her clothes, and took Colin to the lounge for a nap. Rhett stayed with them, waiting for them to wake up.
This night was destined to be restless.
Worried about Grace, Grace went to Graceâs ward after a few hoursâ sleep. Graceâs face was not as pale as before, according to the doctor on duty.
âMs. Hewsonâs recovery is going very well. Itâs as if this heart has been waiting for her.â Grace and Andrew nearby exchanged a glance and became heavyâhearted.
She checked Graceâs condition. She couldnât be at ease until she made sure Grace was doing fine.
As Andrew watched Grace do the examination, he became nervous instantly when she sighed.
âMs. Parrish, is Graceâs body...â
Grace interrupted him frustratedly, âYou should go get some rest. If you fall ill, Grace will feel guilty when she wakes up. Besides, only you can tell her about what happened to Kash.â
Andrew shook his head frustratedly, looking at Grace with heartache. Before he went to rest, he said, âIf Grace wakes up, please tell me.â
Grace nodded and urged him to rest.
Grace and Andrew spent nearly all of their time in Graceâs ward this week. However, Grace hadnât woken up after a week.
Andrew and Grace were anxious.
âKaff kaff.â
A sudden cough startled people in the room.
Grace opened her eyes slowly, a drop of tears falling from the corner of her eye, her fingertips trembling. They all looked over.
Grace called out in excitement, âGrace!â
Andrew sat beside the bed, very excited, his eyes filled with too many emotions. âGrace, you finally woke up.â
11 Grace cast a glance around the room before settling on Andrew. With a Chapter 91 raspy voice and a deep sense of longing, she said, âAndrew.â
Andrew gently held her hand and said softly, âIâm right here.â
Grace wiped the tears from her eyes. âWeâll leave you alone.â
Grace and Rhett quietly left the ward with Colin, allowing the siblings some privacy.
Rhett squeezed Graceâs palm after noticing that she was upset. âGrace, itâs good that she wakes up, isnât it? Everything will be OK. Time will heal them.â
Grace forced a smile. âRhett, I want to go visit Russellâs grave.â
Rhett knew that she was talking about the man of the Kaufman family. He also knew those past events. He nodded. âIâll go with you.â
Colin raised his hand. âMom, count me in.â
Grace smiled and nodded in agreement. They set off for the cemetery.
After six years, this was the first time Grace had returned here. Her thoughts were complicated.
She bowed sincerely at Russellâs grave.
âRussell, Iâm sorry. My connection with the Kaufman family has ended.â
As the breeze was blowing, Grace seemed to feel Russellâs touch.
Grace started crying when she thought of Russell, who had once given. her complete protection. Colin tugged at Rhettâs sleeve, his face full of worry.
Rhett shook his head, waiting aside quietly with Colin. After a long time, Grace wiped the tears from her face. âRussell, I am going to pursue my happiness.â Grace then walked toward Rhett and Colin.
Rhett nodded slightly at Russellâs grave.
However, just as they turned around to leave, they ran into Antonio and Omar. Antonioâs pupils dilated and Omar looked surprised.
But when they saw Rhett and Colin beside Grace, their expressions. changed. Grace ignored Antonio, but when she passed by Omar, she stopped.
âOmar, I take back what I said earlier. You are actually a very good child, and I really loved you.â
Omar quivered, his eyes filled with tears. âMom.â
Grace and the others had already left. Omarâs face was covered with tears, and his eyes were filled with relief. âMom, I wish you happiness.â
Grace snatched Colin from Rhettâs arms and raised her head proudly. âI saw you rolling your eyes at them just now.â
Rhett touched his nose, not expecting she would notice it. He felt a bit guilty. âI just donât like that person!â
Colin had the same attitude as Rhett. âYou helped Mom vent her anger.â
Grace felt warm, smiling, âOkay, letâs go home!
âWe will stay in Drelar City for a month before we fly back home. Otherwise, Grace will pester us again.â
Rhett stared at Colin with deep eyes and said with a smile, âGrace seems upset. Doesnât she always like Colin? We can have Colin stay with her for a month or two while we go traveling to relax.â
Colin agreed immediately, âGreat! I like Grace. I want to keep her company.â
When Grace thought of Graceâs beloved Kash, she subconsciously agreed.
The father and son clapped their hands quietly as if their plan had succeeded.
Later, Grace realized their plan, and she was about to beat them up.
Rhett took Colin and ran away.
Colin smiled, âDad, run!â
They walk in the afterglow of the setting sun, their shadows entwined. The three of them were heading toward a happy future.
