-He's right-
Lili's POV
So, eventually I agreed to keep my word to the deal.
This is not gonna be easy.
He left a while after so Kyle doesn't get suspicious.
Gladly, I don't have to go to school tomorrow and the day after because I was told to rest at home.
It's now 11pm and I couldn't sleep.
I lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling when my phone pinged.
I took my phone from the nightstand and raise an eyebrow when it was sent from an unknown number.
I opened up the chat and my heart stopped for a second when I read what was sent.
Unknown:
You think you'd escape that easily? I don't think so. You must still be sulking about your not-so-dead lover, aren't you? How pathetic.
And don't even think about going to the cops.
-Crushed S.
Then I got another message from the same number.
It was a picture of Caleb kissing some girl which was linked to a number.
I accidentally dropped the phone in shock but caught it before it fell.
My hands were shaking as I dialled the phone number.
It can't be.
He died. He was covered in his own blood. We buried him.
Soon, it was ringing for a few seconds before someone picked up the phone.
"Hello?"

After hearing the voice that I so badly wanted to hear for the past few months, I hung up and I started felt like I was suffocating so I decided to go for a walk at night, in a black hoodie and leggings.
I walked and walked until I found myself looking up to Ryder's house.
I've only ever been to his house one time, though.
I went to where I assumed was his room and thankfully, his lights were still on.
There was a tree next to his balcony so I decided to climb it and pray I don't fall on die.
I can do this.
Carefully, I climbed up the tree and before I knew it, I was on the top and all it took was one leap.
Gosh, how did he make it look so easy.
I took a deep breath and jumped from the tree branch to his balcony.
I stumbled a little before regaining my position.
Why am I here again?
What the hell am I thinking?!
Oh God, am I drunk? What am I doing here?!
He was sleeping.
I'm just gonna wake him up.
I knocked on the glass door lightly, before full on knocking it like my life depended on it.
Wake up bitch!
He slowly gets up and rubs his eyes before looking at me like I just escaped an asylum.
It took him a second to regain his composition before he walked towards the glass door and unlock it, letting me in.
I step in as he steps back.
"Hey." I say softly, feeling nervous mad shy for some reason.
"Hi." He smiles lightly. "What do I owe the pleasure?"
I sigh and look down.
He ushers me to sit on his bed.
"Sorry if I bothered you or something." I say, sheepishly.
He chuckles.
"I don't think I'm gonna be able to go to sleep seeing you like this. What happened?" He asks.
I take a deep breath and show him the picture on my phone.
He looks at the picture confused.
"What am I looking at?" He asks.
"That's...Caleb." I say.
He looked like he was racking his brain for a second before something lit up in his eyes.
"Isn't he dead?" He asks, bluntly.
"That's what I thought. We had a whole funeral for him. I called him just now. He's definitely alive and...with another girl." I say, my voice cracking a little, on the edge of tears.
I was caught by surprise when he does the unexpected. He hugs me.
After a second, I melt into his hug and inhale his scent that calms my nerves.
Are we secretly mates?
I close my eyes as he caresses my hair, softly.
A traitorous sob escapes my throat, making me curse myself.
"It's okay. I'm here for you, Shortcake." He says, comfortingly.
I started crying.
Stupid pathetic bitch, always freaking crying.
"I don't understand! Why couldn't he had just tell me?! I was sulking for a douchebag for months only to find out he's cozying I'll with some other girl!" I cried out.
I must look really pathetic now.
"Are your parents home?" I ask, softly crying.
"No. Only my little brother." He says.
Before I knew it, we were already lying on the bed in each other's arms. Just hugging cuddling and enjoying the silence.
I intertwine my hand with his bad he doesn't pull it away.
I was playing with his fingers when I noticed light bruises on his knuckles.
"Giraffe head?" I say,softly.
"Yes, Shortcake?" He chuckles.
"Why are there bruises on your knuckles?" I ask.
He pulls away his hand.
"Don't worry about it." He says, hesitantly.
I decided to drop it.
I sigh.
"Remember Crushed Skulls?" I ask.
"Mhm. Why?" He says.
"They sent me the texts." I say, taking my phone and showing him the texts.
His jaw visibly clenches.
"What do I do?" I ask.
"How did you get the information about Crushed Skulls?" He asks.
"My PI told me. Mr. Meyers." I say.
"Toby Meyers?" He asks, slowly.
"Yup. He's a cop, too." I say.
"Not anymore." He mutters.
"What do you mean?" I ask, confused.
"Toby Meyers used to be a member of Crushed Skulls' gang. He got caught for dealing drugs illegally and he was supposed to be locked up but he ran away." He explains.
I looked at him shocked.
"A-and you know this how?" I stutter.
"I have my ways but I need you to stay away from him. Do not talk to him ever again and block his number." He says.
"How do you expect me to trust you?" I ask.
"Well, you came to my room in the middle of the night, alone. What is there not to trust.
I thought about it for a second.
He's right.
