Chapter 1192: Worried
Camille didn't say a word. She simply remained silent, staring ahead,
as the police knocked on the door and entered. Soon, they came out
with Eileen and Ayan from inside.
However, Eileen was taken away in a police car, while Ayan stood at
the doorway, watching her get into the car. Eileen's emotions were
naturally very agitated, but the police didn't give her any chance and
quickly closed the door.
The police stood in front of Ayan, saying something that Camille
couldn't hear. Ayan nodded in response, and then watched as the
police got into the car and drove away. He stood there, gazing until the
police car disappeared. Then, his gaze swept around the surroundings,
finally landing on the direction where Camille and Kian were.
Perhaps he hadn't expected Camille to be there, so he was
momentarily stunned. But the next second, he started walking towards
them.
The distance between them wasn't far, but it would still take two or
three minutes to walk. He approached Camille, leaning down in front of
her, his gaze unwavering. He asked in a soft voice, "Are you angry?"
Camille met his gaze, her eyes shimmering with a mix of complex
emotions. Her voice was low as she said, "What exactly happened?
Why didn't you tell me anything? I was so worried."
Camille told Ayan about following him all the way from Darkmoor to
here. In truth, she was really worried and didn't know what to do.
After listening, Ayan smiled faintly and then pulled her into his arms. He
whispered, "It's my fault. I should have told you in advance. It just
happened so suddenly, and I was afraid you would worry, so I planned
to tell you after it was resolved.â
Camille snorted softly, her tone indifferent. "You just didn't want me to
know. You do dangerous things without telling me. Do you know that I
misunderstood just now? My mind was filled with all sorts of wild
thoughts."
âIt's my fault."
"Aren't you afraid that I would barge in?"
Camille suddenly asked.
Ayan was also taken aback, seriously considering it for a moment
before answering, "Yes, I'm afraid. If you had really barged in, today's
plan would probably have been ruined.â
Ayan said that he and Eileen were having dinner in a private room at
Darkmoor, but he didn't really know what Eileen's intentions were.
During the meal, his phone suddenly rang, and an unfamiliar number
told him that there was a package that needed his signature. However,
this was clearly strange and impossible. His number couldn't have been
leaked. The only possibility was that someone who knew his number
deliberately leaked it.
Ayan cooperated and went out to answer the call, instantly
understanding Eileen's intentions. She probably wanted to put
something in his teacup or utensils. As it turned out, that was exactly
the case.
But in order to see Eileen's true intentions, Ayan didn't startle the snake
in the grass. Instead, he continued to cooperate with her according to
her intentions. The only thing he didn't anticipate was that Eileen, to
avoid any mishaps, also gave something to Kian through the hands of a
waiter, so Kian didn't catch up with them immediately.
However, Ayan was alert from the beginning. With precautions in place,
he naturally didn't eat much, just lightly touching the food without
consuming much.
The food that Eileen gave him was sent to Kian for examination. It
wasn't a sedative; it was a drug that could control people's minds,
causing them to lose all their thoughts and rationality, following her
every step.
That's why when they left Darkmoor, Ayan cooperated so well with
Eileen, walking out together and getting into the car. However, once
they were in the car, Eileen quietly told Ayan that she wanted to find a
place to rest for a while, so Ayan chose this villa close to the restaurant.
After arriving at the villa, Eileen left Ayan in the bedroom and said she
was going to take a shower. When she came out, she asked Ayan to lie
down on the bed with her and took out a pre-prepared camera, ready to
take photos. It was obvious what she intended to do with those photos.
Thinking that Kian had already called the police in advance, Ayan
pretended to be confused when the police arrived. Only when the
police understood the situation did Ayan regain his composure and
naturally accuse Eileen.
Originally, Ayan was supposed to go to the police station to understand
the situation with the police, but due to his special status, he chose to
let Kian go to the police station instead.
Ayan explained everything to Camille in detail. After finishing, he held
Camille's hand tightly and asked in a low voice, "How did you know that
Eileen and I were having dinner at Darkmoor?"
âI went to your company to find you."
âYou don't usually come to find me so frequently, do you?" Ayan found it
somewhat amusing. Camille explained about Preston's invitation to
meet her today, and Ayan's face instantly became cold. He said, "So
my guess was not wrong."
Knowing that Preston had approached Eileen, Ayan naturally had his
guard up against her. Combined with what Eileen had said to him this
time, it seemed like she was making a big deal out of something that
could have been discussed over the phone.
Clearly, the matter could have been resolved through a phone call, but
Eileen insisted on coming to Hance City in person and having a meal
together. It was obvious she had a purpose.
Upon hearing this, Camille's expression naturally turned ugly. She also
understood that Preston was involved in this, and if she believed
Preston's words, she wouldn't be standing here right now; she would be
waiting for Ayan at home to confront him.
Camille explained everything about Preston approaching her truthfully
and then asked, "Is that gossip reporter really with Eileen?"
"They probably aren't together anymore, but since Preston told you
that, then he must have gone to Eileen's place. I'll have Kian ask Eileen
later. If the reporter is still with the film crew, it will save us a lot of effort
in looking for him. Once we catch this gossip reporter, he won't be able
to keep Preston's secrets.â
"If he has evidence against Preston, won't Preston do something to
him?" Camille asked in worry.
Ayan's face grew serious, his expression not looking good at all. He
squinted his deep eyes, a hint of coldness passing through them,
before calmly saying, âWe'll probably find out soon enough. It's not like
he hasn't done something like this before. Once bitten, twice shy. So for
him, it's just routine. But now we have the means to contact Eileen, and
if anything happens, he should inform Eileen within a minute or two."
Ayan and Camille didn't leave the villa immediately. Ayan still had
something to handle-the police coming to the villa. Since Preston was
involved in the whole plan, he would definitely be paying attention to
the situation. So Ayan had prepared a reason for the police's visit that
had nothing to do with him.
Then Ayan asked Camille, "Do you want to cooperate with me and put
on a play?"
