Chapter 1295: Support

The assistant didn't know why Camille asked this, but Camille was

Ayan's wife, Mrs. Simpson, so she had a valid reason for asking

anything.

The assistant truthfully replied, “There haven't been any actions from

Preston's side yet. The people Mr. Reid arranged are still there, so you

don't need to worry, madam."

"Hmm." Camille's face remained serious, showing no signs of

relaxation. However, she instructed the assistant to keep everything

about Ayan and Kian confidential if anyone inquired. It was all company

secrets.

After instructing the assistant, Camille still felt uneasy.

She was worried about what Preston would do next.

If Preston really intended to do something, what should she do?

With Ayan currently out of the country, would she be able to handle it?

Camille sat silently at her desk, deep in thought, without any movement

or sound. It wasn't until Sienna walked in and saw her lost in thought

that she couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong with you?"

Only then did Camille raise her eyes to look at Sienna, and their eyes

met. Sienna could clearly see what was hidden in Camille's eyes.

Sienna asked, "What's going on?"

Camille didn't hide anything because they had already agreed not to.

She truthfully informed Sienna, who became more amazed as she

listened. In the end, an admiring look appeared on her face.

Sienna raised her thumb and said, "You're amazing!"

Camille furrowed her brow. "Be serious.”

“I am serious!" Sienna said lightly, still holding up her thumb. She didn't

look serious at all. She said, "Cami, you're really incredible. I'm telling

the truth. You're completely overshadowing Preston. You're playing him

in the palm of your hand. You're fantastic."

Camille smiled, the smile at the corners of her mouth becoming deeper

and more profound. She raised an eyebrow and said, "So, you think I

did well?"

"Of course, very well. You should have told me earlier. Maybe then I

could have helped you deal with him."

"No need. Doing it too much will backfire. It needs to seem like

everything is happening naturally, so it won't seem deliberate to

anyone."

Camille had certainly put a lot of thought into this because she had

spent a long time with Preston and knew what kind of person he was.

But Preston was naturally suspicious. He might not have discovered or

suspected anything yet, but it wouldn't stay hidden for long.

However, Camille still hadn't figured out what exactly Preston intended

to do, so her worries only grew.

Camille sighed. "To be honest, I'm conflicted. I want Ayan to come back

quickly, but I also want him to take his time."

"I understand how you feel. Don't worry, Ayan is so clever. He has his

own ways. He will definitely take care of Preston. I've told you before,

Preston is a scheming person, and he's selfish. It seems like he's all

alone in the end. But Ayan is different. Ayan has you, Timmy, the

Simpson family, Simpson Group, and Rex, those brothers as solid as

steel. They all stand behind Ayan, and they will be the first to step

forward in any situation.”

Sienna's words touched Camille. She had always known how

exceptional Ayan was and believed that he would be capable of

handling the situation with Preston. However, Preston operated in the

shadows while Ayan was in the light. Camille still hadn't figured out

what Preston intended to do, and that worried her.

She sighed silently. She said to Sienna, “I understand what you're

saying, but my worries haven't diminished at all. I don't know what to

do. Sometimes, I even have a cruel thought that I want Preston to leave

Hance City and never come back.”

Sienna gently patted Camille's shoulder and said in a soothing voice,

"Don't worry, you will definitely succeed, and all of us are on your side.”

Camille nodded, looking grateful as she gazed at Sienna. Sometimes,

it's friends who continuously support and encourage, albeit indirectly.

Because of Preston's phone call, Camille couldn't concentrate on her

work anymore. After talking with Sienna, she sat alone in her office, lost

in thought.

She didn't know if Preston would actually call Simpson Group to test

the waters, nor did she know if anyone from Simpson Group would

accidentally reveal anything without any prior arrangement or

understanding.

However, she wasn't worried that Preston would find out about Ayan's

business trip. Not many people knew about it, and those who did

wouldn't easily disclose it to Preston. Those who could readily divulge

everything wouldn't have access to such information.

Camille consoled herself in this way, but she had no idea about the

actual situation.

This unease persisted until the end of the workday. Before that, Ayan

had contacted Camille. Ayan had dinner with Horace and Hannibal

today. Horace cooked and had gone early in the morning with Grace to

a nearby domestic supermarket to buy groceries.

Ayan hadn't been eating well during his time here; he barely felt

satisfied, and the food didn't taste good, making him uncomfortable.

So, he instructed Horace to buy more groceries today and pack a meal

for him.

Ayan shared the situation with Camille and involved her in the

discussion. Camille didn't know that Horace could cook and felt

pleasantly surprised.

Ayan explained briefly, "He lived abroad and honed his culinary skills. I

heard he's pretty good.”

"In that case, when we return to the country, shouldn't we all have a

meal together?" Camille suggested.

"Sure, I'll tell him," Ayan replied.

Camille was already looking forward to it and wanted to taste Horace's

cooking. Then she thought of something and asked in a low voice,

"How is Grace doing? Will she come back with Horace this time?"

Camille was particularly concerned about this matter. If Grace were to

come back with Horace, it was highly unlikely they would go directly to

Hance City. In fact, Camille would recommend Grace to stay in Flento

City because it was a familiar place. She could arrange everything for

Grace and introduce her to her old friends and classmates, so she

wouldn't feel lonely and bored compared to being in her home country.

Having a friend by her side would be helpful in any situation.

That's what Camille thought because she always felt that Grace, being

alone outside, wasn't very safe. Although their sisterly bond wasn't very

strong, she still worried about her.

Before Ayan had a chance to respond to Camille's questions, he

happened to see Grace coming out of the house yard, picking onions.

Grace lived where Horace lived, and it was mostly populated by

Chinese people, so it was safe. With the help of Horace's sister, she

had planted many vegetables and onions in the yard. Even though she

didn't know how to cook, it didn't stop her from having a love for

gardening.

Upon seeing Grace, Ayan directly spoke to her, "Do you have time

now? Let's have a chat with Cami."

Grace instinctively paused, a hint of surprise in her eyes. But her first

question was, "Has something happened at home?"
