Chapter 589 Gossip
He said in a gentle voice, "No need to feel any pressure, this apology
does not need to be accepted, and you don't need to look at anyone's
face, it's boring and crowded here, you go with Kian to talk to Rex and
the others for a while, en?"
Camille felt the temperature in her hand, her face crossed a trace of
inconspicuous stiffness. She also subconsciously wanted to pull away
her hand, but in the face of so many people, she finally did not break
away.
Only when Camille nodded did Ayan let her go, and then asked Kian to
accompany her out of the ballroom.
Kian took Camille to the lounge area and sat down, and Rex and the
others got a general idea of what was going on over there.
At this moment, they began to comfort Camille: "Camille, do not take it
to heart. Those little girls who have nothing to do but gossip for a living,
no one will believe a word they say.â
Camille nodded gently, âI'm fine."
After Camille left, the mildness on Ayan's face turned into cold hostility.
His attitude towards Camille was enough to show Camille's status in his
heart. He indifferently said, "Today I hope you do not spread
indiscriminately what happened today, otherwise it is against Simpson
Group, that is, against the entire Hance City business community. How
do you think?"
"Of course, Master Simpson is right, these are unfounded things. If
there are still people talking nonsense, it is certainly against the Hance
City business and Simpson Group. We are on the side of Master
Simpson. Some people need to watch out for themselves!
"That's it!"
"We all support Master Simpson."
Except for a few celebrity families of those girls who started this, others
gave the same response, fearing that Ayan would incriminate them.
They would not offend the Simpson Group with such frivolous gossip.
With the guarantee, the bodyguards also let go of other guests,
including those who quarreled with Camile. Ayan did not stop them and
their families from leaving.
Ayan seemed to let it go, because there were no threats or warnings,
as if it had not happened.
But the more he took on such an attitude, the more apprehensive
everyone's heart became.
Even if he ordered the celebrities to leave the country and never come
back to Hance City, their hearts would be slightly relieved that at least
this matter would be closed.
But he did nothing, which made those people keep guessing what he
was thinking.
But news spread in the circle that night.
There were a lot of negative information circulating about these girls
and their family businesses. Within a short night, there was a large-
scale cancellation of cooperation and tax investigation, and then they
declared bankruptcy directly. Those families hurried abroad and did not
dare to come back.
This incident fermented quickly and made the entire Hance City
business community know that they could not offend Ayan, nor his wife
Camille, or the consequences would be unthinkable.
After what happened at the charity party, Ayan being protective of his
wife had also spreaded in the circle.
The matter was thought to be over with the fall of these celebrity
families, but would Ayan really stop there?
That night, after leaving the charity ball, Kian drove Ayan and Camille
back.
There was no conversation between the two in the back seat. They
arrived at Maple Leaves Mansion in silence. Camille opened the door
as soon as the car stopped.
But she didn't just go right down, instead she turned her head to look at
the man beside her and she said, âThank you for what happened
tonight.â
Ayan had not taken the initiative to speak was because he did not want
her to have any pressure for what just happened, so he was silent and
said nothing.
At this moment, when he heard her saying thank you, he also smiled
lightly, and his voice was gentle: "I told you, no need to say thank you
to me, eh?"
After a few seconds of their eyes locked, Camille lowered her eyes and
looked away. She said, âI saw Austin at the ball tonight, so I don't
believe it has anything to do with him. He's probably doing this to force
me to accept Cora's apology in the group!"
Ayan's face was gentle, his deep eyes looked at her for a moment, and
there was an obvious tenderness in his eyes. He whispered, "Donât pay
any attention to him. He won't dare to look for you again, so he will only
use these shady means to hide in the dark. You can rest assured that I
will take care of the matter.â
Of course, Ayan couldn't just let it go, and he knew it had something to
do with Austin when he first heard about it, because no one else would
do such things.
But he was not going to do anything to Austin for now.
He needed timing.
An opportunity to make Austin pay.
As for now, he could only wait.
What happened at the charity ball did not continue to be rumored
except for those who were present. After all, they were all dignified
people, not like the street people who could make irresponsible
remarks. And more importantly, no one dared not to take Ayan's
reminder to heart.
So it was as peaceful as if nothing had happened.
In the afternoon, Camille came to the office to talk to Yessica about the
previous collaboration with that foxy company.
Yessica had collected a lot of evidence during the usual negotiations,
and had contacted a design company that had cooperated with the
company and also suffered losses. Yessica immediately told Camille
that she wanted Camille to decide whether to cooperate with the design
company to teach the company a lesson.
Yessica told Camille what she knew in detail. Camille seriously thought
about it and said, "For now do not reveal our grievances and intentions,
because there are no permanent enemies and friends in this circle. You
can be friends as long as you share the same interests. It is best to get
material evidence and maintain the contact first."
Camille thought all along that if she was just starting a company, she
must have accepted without complaining.
But she as well as her company and her team were not green. If they
still had to be silent about the loss, it would only make the employees
have no confidence in themselves, and it would make others feel that
they were easy to bully.
So Camille had to get justice.
After discussing countermeasures with Yessica, Sienna also came.
She came because of what happened at the charity party last night.
She wanted to contact Camille immediately after she heard Rex say it
in the evening, but it was late and she was afraid of disturbing her, so
she didn't come to her until now.
After Yessica left, Sienna then asked, âWhat happened last night? Rex
also said he couldn't understand and it made me worry aboout you all
night."
Camille: "It's nothing, just some boring people talking nonsense."
"Really?"
"Really."
Sienna was relieved this time after Camille's assurance.
She laughed, "I heard that Master Simpson was very overbearing in
defending you last night, didn't he? I heard from Rex early this morning
that Master Simpson drove those people out of business."
Camille of course knew it, and she pursed her lips slightly and hummed
faintly.
Sienna laughed, "He is quite concerned about you!"
Camille glanced at Sienna: "Are you here to care about me or are you
here to pry gossip that no one else knows about?"
