Chapter 784 House Husband
âThen just accept it." Camille snorted and placed Timmy in his father's
arms. She waved at the little guy and said, "Timmy, Mommy has to
work. You can play with Daddy for a while. We'll see each other later."
Timmy obediently waved goodbye to Camille. He was so cute that he
didn't cry or make a fuss.
Camille returned to the museum?? s conference room, but she couldn't
focus on her work because she was worried about Timmy and whether
Ayan could handle him.
Finally, it was time to leave work. Camille quickly packed up her things
and left the conference room with her laptop.
She also messaged Ayan. It was still ten minutes away from his arrival.
Camille stood on the side of the road waiting for him.
As people left one by one, they all said goodbye as they passed by
except for Louise.
The last person to leave was Amber who drove out of the garage in her
MINI car. When she passed by where Camille stood, she stopped as
well.
Amber rolled down her window and asked Camille,"Ms. Armstrong, do
you want me to give you a ride?"
"Thank you but no thanks," replied Camille politely while knowing full
well who Amber is.
However, Amber didn't leave just yet; instead she continued,"Ms.
Armstrong, your friend might not be here so soon? If it's convenient for
you, wouldn't mind chatting with me?"
Without waiting for an answer from Camille, Amber had already pushed
open the driver's door and got out of the car. She walked around its
front towards where Camille stood, smiling at her. "This should have
been discussed during working hours, but there were too many people
around then which made it inconvenient. So I chose now. I hope you
won't mind."
Camille checked the time. Ayan still had a few minutes before arriving.
Therefore, she wasn?? t busy doing anything else. She shook her head
slightly and said, âIf Miss Torres have something to say, then please go
ahead."
Amber nodded before slowly saying,"What does Ms. Armstrong think
about Louise?"
Camille furrowed her brows slightly. "I think how Louise is as a person
is none of my business. So, I don?? t want to comment.â
"You probably doesn't like her either, right? Our company is also
disappointed in her. We can't directly fire her because she's still under
contract, but she's really annoying on this project and it's affecting our
work. So if Ms. Armstrong would like to, why don't we unite to get rid of
her from this project?"
Although Amber's words sounded like a question on the surface, she
had already made up her mind. She only told Camille to find an excuse
to drive Louise away together.
Camille looked at Amber coldly with no interest in what she was saying.
She spoke calmly and slowly: "Miss Torres, if this is just your own idea
and you feel that you must do it, then you don't need to tell me about it.
This is an internal matter for your company. Although we are working
on the same project, it is not appropriate for us to discuss this topic any
further.â
Camille made it clear that she did not want to be involved in their affairs
or have anything more to do with Louise despite disliking her.
Amber was surprised by Camille's attitude but continued questioning:
"Don't you mind what she did to you? Are you just letting go of what
happened so easily?"
âIt has nothing to do with letting go of her," replied Camille coolly. "I just
don't want too much interaction with her anymore, because doing so
would mean letting go of myself as well.â Camille raised her eyebrows
and stared at Amber with increasing indifference. "Did MissTorres have
a problem with her?" she asked. ?? Why do you hate her so much?
You're not gonna let her go? If the Miss Torres is doing this just to
please others, it is not necessary."
Camille didn't elaborate further. There was a hint of a smile on her lips
as she caught sight of Ayan's car, so she said again, "Miss Torres,
goodbye!"
Without waiting for Amber's response, Camille walked forward.
Ayan had just parked his car and Camille got into the passenger seat
after fastening her seatbelt. She turned to wave at Timmy before
looking ahead.
The car started moving and they passed by Amber's car. Amber was
still standing there motionless, watching them go by.
Ayan noticed her and asked, "Who is she?"
Camille replied, "She's the replacement for Louise that the company
sent over. But I don't like her even more than Louise."
Although Camille didn't like Louise either, she disliked Amber even
more because everything about her was hidden in her heart or behind
people's backs.
Ayan took one hand off the steering wheel and held hers instead. He
looked at her gently and asked, "Do you want me to get rid of her from
this project if you don't like her?"
Camille shook her head in refusal. "No thanks. I don't want to be a bully
like she is."
They arrived back at Maple Leaves Mansion with Timmy in tow.
Even though it was still the same house as before with nothing new
added except for Timmy today, his presence made her feel more
complete than ever before.
Camille enjoyed this feeling very much indeed!
As soon as they entered their home again after being out all day
running errands etc., someone rang their doorbell once more - it turned
out that Ayan had ordered dinner delivery earlier on which included
some porridge specially made for Timmy along with other child-friendly
dishes too!
He said: "Timmy's food is specially ordered, no condiments, just salt."
Camilla gave him an approving nod while raising up her thumb: âThat
deserves a thumb up!" Ayan laughed along with her.
Since there wasn?? t any chair special for Timmy?? s use during meal,
he played around nearby until they two finished eating first, which was
another rule that Camilla insisted upon following strictly: In the case
that he is not hungry, adults must eat first; there is no need to
deliberately spoil him, if he is a little older, he can sit in the dining chair
and eat with everyone.
She hoped that Timmy could develop a good habit of eating
independently, without being chased around the world to be fed during
every meal. It would be exhausting for her otherwise.
While having dinner with Ayan, Camille suddenly thought of the scene
earlier in the afternoon when he brought Timmy over. She couldn't help
but exclaim, "Mr. Simpson, to be honest, you're quite suited to being a
stay-at-home dad. Have you ever considered it?"
Ayan was eating his food when he met Camille's gaze. "If you think I'm
capable, I can give it a try," he said.
"Really?" Camille's eyes lit up.
Ayan nodded. "Yes."
"But if you become a full-time stay-at-home dad, won't it be a waste of
your talents? What will people say when they find out that you have
given up everything to be a stay-at-home dad? They might even spit on
me."
âIt won't matter because this is my choice and our personal business. It
has nothing to do with anyone else,â Ayan replied seriously.
Camille laughed and said, "Okay then, let's start tomorrow!"
"Yes, we can do that but I have one condition,â Ayan added.
"What condition?"
âIf I become a stay-at-home dad for our family, shouldn't you provide
some security for me? Who will support me while I take care of Timmy
at home?" he asked confidently.
It was hard to believe these words were coming from someone worth
billions of dollars! Even if he returned home now, the Simpson Group
could still be managed by professionals, so would he really lack
money?
Camille smiled at him knowingly as she realized what he was doing.
Ayan continued with conviction in his voice: "So are you going to
support me then?"
Camille froze in shock and stared at him without blinking: "So you want
me to support you?"
