Chapter 849: Everlasting

After getting off the plane, Camille and Ayan went to collect their

luggage. During that time, Ayan went to the restroom, leaving Camille

alone, waiting for their luggage. Another person was also waiting for

their luggage.

Camille didn't notice until the person called out to her.

"Miss Armstrong?!" The man's voice was unexpectedly gentle in this

noisy environment, catching Camille off guard.

Camille followed the voice and saw Jordan standing not far away. He

had a gentle face and a faint smile. She immediately waved in greeting,

but she didn't expect Jordan to approach her after collecting his

luggage.

Jordan said, "What a coincidence! Are you here in Dane City for a trip?"

Camille nodded slightly, "Sort of! And you? Are you here to have fun

too?"

He forced a smile, "I'm here to handle some matters. If you're available,

let's have a meal together?"

Just as Jordan finished speaking, Ayan returned.

His voice sounded first, "Cami?!"

He had just come out of the restroom and saw a man standing next to

Camille. The man stood tall and had a smile on his face. It seemed like

they knew each other. As it was a man, Ayan instinctively frowned, his

eyes showing a touch of displeasure and indifference.

It wasn't until he approached that he realized the man was Jordan.

Their gazes met, and they naturally recognized each other.

Seeing him, Jordan's eyes also revealed a hint of surprise, especially

when he saw Ayan standing next to Camille.

Ayan lightly opened his thin lips and said, "Long time no see. What a

coincidence!”

Jordan also smiled faintly, "Yeah, what a coincidence.”

He didn't ask about Camille's relationship with Ayan, but he already had

a rough guess in his mind. He wasn't a gossiping person and wasn't

curious about other people's private matters or secrets.

While the two men calmly greeted each other, Camille's confusion

grew. She never expected that the two of them would know each other.

At that moment, Jordan received his luggage. He looked at Camille and

Ayan and spoke softly, "Miss Armstrong, Ayan, I'll take my leave now.

We'll meet again if we have the chance.”

Camille nodded and said goodbye, while Ayan remained silent, only

raising his head.

After Jordan left, Ayan took Camille's hand, and with his other hand, he

pushed the luggage towards the exit.

They didn't discuss Jordan further. When they arrived outside the

airport, Sophia was already waiting in the car.

Seeing Camille and Ayan, Sophia immediately got out of the car and

waved to them, "Hello!"

Sophia approached them. She got along well with Camille and

immediately took Camille's hand and walked towards the car. Only

Ayan was left to handle the luggage.

Sophia opened the backseat and took out a bouquet of roses, handing

it to Camille, "Welcome to Dane City. I hope you'll fall in love with it."

Camille felt delighted by the ceremonial welcome, her face beaming

with a smile. She said, "Thank you."

Sophia's gracefulness was evident in every move she made. She said,

"Don't be so polite. Get in the car quickly. I've already made a

reservation at a restaurant. We'll drop off your luggage at the hotel first

and then go for a meal.”

Camille and Sophia sat in the backseat while Ayan took the driver's

seat.

Sophia thoughtfully opened the GPS for Ayan, "So, Mr. Simpson, thank

you for being our driver. As the host, I'll accompany Camille."

Ayan had no objections. He opened the driver's door, sat down, and

pressed the accelerator, driving away from the airport.

The three of them returned to the hotel first and dropped off their

luggage before heading to the restaurant.

It was just the three of them for lunch today, so the atmosphere was

relaxed and casual.

During the meal, Sophia mentioned Austin's situation.

She said, "Norman Group in Campole has caused quite a stir. Austin

can't be found, and the company is likely to face a thorough

investigation. With all the turmoil, Norman Group is definitely in great

crisis.”

Sophia said this while looking at Ayan, as if assessing something?

Ayan pretended not to notice Sophia's intentions and responded

indifferently, "Hmm, so what? It doesn't have much to do with our

project, does it?"

Sophia was momentarily taken aback, caught off guard by Ayan's

retort.

But she continued to stare at Ayan, her probing evident in her words.

This made Ayan's gaze turn cold, and his tone displeased as he said,

"If you have something to say, just say it. Stop staring at me like that.

My wife is right here!"

Sophia, being spoken to like that by Ayan, instinctively frowned and

looked towards Camille, who was sipping soup beside them. Camille

had a bewildered expression, glancing back and forth between the two.

Sophia quickly explained, "Camille, don't listen to his nonsense. I was

just lost in thought. Please don't misunderstand me."

Sophia then turned to Ayan and said, "Ayan, you're trying to sow

discord between Camille and me. Let me tell you, the friendship

between girls is delicate. If I were to stir up trouble in front of Camille,

your days wouldn't be easy."

Ayan let out a light hum, completely unconcerned.

Camille smiled faintly and looked at Sophia, “It's okay, I didn't

misunderstand. You two can talk."

Camille didn't involve herself in their conversation. After all, it was work-

related, and she didn't want to interfere or express any opinions. She

had come this time simply to have fun with Ayan.

Sophia raised an eyebrow at Ayan, her eyes carrying a hint of

provocation, completely different from her previous infatuation with him.

She said, "Did you hear that? Camille won't misunderstand me, so stop

trying to sow discord between us."

Ayan ignored her, just picked up picked up a piece of fish for Camille,

placing it in her bowl gently. His tone was gentle as he said, "Have

more fish. It's a specialty of Dane City. If you like it, we can arrange for

a cook to make it for you when we return to Hance City."

Listening to this, Sophia felt her teeth ache. She was extremely

fortunate to have realized that something was between them and cut

her losses in time; otherwise, she would be the only one getting hurt in

the end.

She clicked her tongue a couple of times and said lightly, “I should

have left this meal for the two of you. I'm just an unnecessary third

wheel."

"Well, you can leave now if you want." Ayan responded without any hint

of politeness.

His response made Sophia's expression even more unpleasant, and

she glared at Ayan with complete anger and indignation. Camille,

seeing this, couldn't help but want to laugh a little, but she immediately

said, "Sophia, he's always like this. Don't mind him."

“You should say a little less. We're in Sophia's territory now, and I'm still

waiting for her to show me around!" Camille looked at Ayan, not

knowing what had gotten into him. Whenever he encountered Sophia,

he became like fire, completely without restraint.

After Camille spoke, Ayan fell silent. Sophia knew that, at this moment,

it was Camille who held the most influence on him.

As long as Camille was pleased, what Ayan thought or did didn't matter

anymore.

Sophia raised her juice glass and tapped it against Camille's. She said,

“Indeed, you're the better one. Here's to our everlasting friendship, and

I hope you always have a bigger say than Ayan."

After the toast, Sophia finished her drink in one gulp, while Camille just

took a sip.

Overall, the meal was enjoyable, despite some small incidents. They

were just playful banter, and it didn't lead to any real embarrassment.

After the meal, it was still early, so Sophia suggested taking a stroll

around Dane City with the two of them.

Camille had no objections. After all, Sophia had suggested it, so she

naturally agreed.

However, Ayan declined, saying, "I'm tired. Let's talk about it tomorrow.

Take us back to the hotel.”

"Do you think I'm a chauffeur?"

Sophia huffed lightly, but Ayan had already taken Camille's hand and

sat in the backseat.

Camille looked at Ayan and didn't sense any particular emotions in his

expression, but she still asked in a low voice, "What's wrong with you?"
