Chapter 850: Forever

Ayan glanced at Sophia, who was about to get into the car, and

casually said, "Nothing, just if you go for a stroll with her, it won't end

until ten in the evening."

Sophia was a typical Aries, always full of energy and enthusiasm.

She never seemed to get tired, but since they had taken a flight and

hadn't rested well in Flento City, Ayan decided to take Camille back to

the hotel to rest properly. Tomorrow, he could accompany her for a day

of fun. He didn't want anyone else to interrupt their time together.

Of course, Ayan wouldn't say this directly in front of Sophia. With her

temper, she would definitely go out of her way to disturb them.

However, Ayan knew very well that Sophia no longer had any interest in

him. Still, he didn't want anyone to disturb the time he would spend with

Camille. He didn't want any interference, whether from men or women.

Their opportunities to be together were already scarce, so he wanted to

cherish every moment of their private world.

Sophia drove them back to the hotel. After they got out of the car,

Camille waved goodbye to Sophia. Sophia glanced at Ayan and said to

Camille, "Let's make plans to meet alone another day. You can call me

anytime."

Camille nodded in agreement and expressed her gratitude once again

for today's ride and lunch.

Then Sophia looked at Ayan and asked, "Ayan, there's a cocktail party

at the opening ceremony tonight. Would you like to come with me?"

"No, you handle it. I'm fine,” Ayan replied with an indifferent tone.

Sophia had already anticipated his answer, so she simply nodded and

didn't say much.

She waved goodbye and prepared to drive away, but at that moment,

Ayan took the initiative to speak again, "If you have anything, just call

Kian directly. He's already in Dane."

If someone needed to reach him, his phone might not be turned on, or

he might not be able to hear it.

He had decided to spend time with Camille, so naturally, his phone

would be on silent or turned off.

Sophia nodded and left.

Camille and Ayan turned and walked into the hotel. Their hands were

intertwined, and they walked slowly towards the entrance. Camille

softly asked Ayan, "Are you in a bad mood today?"

Ayan lowered his gaze and stared at her. "Why do you ask that?"

"Because during the meal, you kept arguing with Sophia. Are you really

okay?"

She looked at him with concern, which made Ayan smile.

He said, "Are you really worried about me?"

Camille furrowed her brows. “I don't care about you. Maybe you

shouldn't tell me anything anymore."

Ayan looked at her serious expression and suddenly leaned closer to

her, his warm breath brushing against her cheek as he spoke in a low

and hoarse voice, "I see that your whole body is soft, except for this

mouth of yours, which is stubborn.”

Camille's cheeks turned slightly red, and she averted her gaze,

unwilling to look at him for too long.

The two of them entered the elevator and arrived at their room floor.

Only then did Ayan speak softly, “I'm fine. Talking with Sophia has

always been like this. If there's something that has made me unhappy,

it's probably running into Jordan at the airport!"

His voice was low and carried a hint of subtle grievance, as if

something had truly hurt him.

Camille pursed her lips and stood at the door of the room. She took out

the room key from her bag, opened the door, and walked in. Ayan

followed behind her and closed the door behind them.

The room had a huge floor-to-ceiling window, offering a nice view. After

setting down her bag, Camille sat on the sofa.

Ayan stood in front of her, looking down at her. "Don't you have

anything to say to me?"

Camille raised her gaze. "Do you want to ask me how I know Jordan?"

Ayan sat down beside her, facing her. Unable to resist any longer, he

asked the question he had refrained from asking at the airport. "So, you

don't plan on telling me, and you purposely want to make me feel hurt,

is that it?"

Camille smiled lightly, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah!"

Ayan was helpless, but he couldn't do anything about her.

Camille didn't continue to beat around the bush. She said, "Do you

remember when we went to a restaurant in a resort? That was the first

time I met Jordan. It was just a chance encounter, and we didn't have

any interaction. Not long after we returned, I ran into his mother at the

hospital. She almost fainted, and I helped her find a doctor. You could

say I did her a small favor!"

"So, you didn't tell him about our relationship?"

"Mr. Simpson, are you stupid?" Camille furrowed her brows and stared

at him with some amusement. "Wouldn't I be considered crazy and

locked up in a hospital if I met someone and shouted, 'l have a

relationship with Ayan'? We're a divorced couple, and now we're

planning to remarry. If I did that, I'd probably be considered insane."

The more Camille thought about it, the more she found it amusing. On

the other hand, Ayan was slightly displeased, his expression

particularly indifferent. He said, "Why didn't you tell me about this?"

“It's not an important matter, is it?" Camille didn't think she needed to

specifically inform him about such a thing. She didn't see any issue with

it.

Ayan didn't say anything further upon hearing her response. He was

pleased by her remark that it wasn't an important matter.

Later, Camille returned to the room for an afternoon nap, while Ayan

continued his work outside.

Kian had arrived in Dane the night before and had worked for the whole

morning. He had come to Dane primarily for the project's

groundbreaking ceremony. The project was significant, so the opening

ceremony was made to be quite grand. Ayan's personal attendance

represented his seriousness towards the project.

In the morning, Kian had greeted many company chairpersons and

general managers, all invited to participate in the opening ceremony.

Additionally, he had inspected the site to ensure everything was in

perfect order, leaving no room for accidents or loopholes.

After finishing these tasks, Kian finally arrived at the hotel.

He handed over a detailed report on the work and progress to Ayan for

review. Ayan had a sharp eye for things, especially when it came to

work. Even though Kian had done an excellent job, Ayan pointed out a

few minor issues that needed further improvement.

After discussing the matters related to the opening ceremony, Ayan

finally spoke up. "Any news from Campole?"

Kian replied, "Norman Group has been taken over by Mr. Davalos and

Mr. Moya. It was decided by a vote among the company employees.

Although the Norman family has the largest share, none of them had

the courage to take over the mess during such a critical period. As for

Austin, he has been removed from the board of directors. His secretary

mentioned that after being taken home, he hasn't been seen since. The

surveillance around his mansion has also been broken, so the police

have no leads.”

"Alright, let's not bother with him. This matter has nothing to do with

us," Ayan said indifferently.

He had considered the possibility of Austin becoming desperate and

making irrational moves, but at present, it seemed unlikely. Austin was

already wanted by the authorities and wouldn't risk exposing himself.

His situation was far more serious than Preston's. While Preston was

suspected of intentional harm and obstruction of normal business

operations, as long as Ayan didn't pursue it, it wouldn't cause significant

problems. However, no matter what identity Austin assumed, there was

no way to resolve his situation.

Ayan found Preston useful, but as for Austin, he had no value

whatsoever. It was best to leave him to the police.

Kian nodded. After briefly discussing Austin's matter, he informed Ayan

of the information he had received earlier that morning. He said, "Mr.

Simpson, Sean has been in contact with Austin. Someone saw him

having a meal with Austin's driver in Hance City. Based on their

interaction, it seems it wasn't their first time meeting. Our people also

discovered that Preston is also looking for Sean."

"Of course, he would look for him. If Sean's whereabouts were beyond

his control, Preston probably wouldn't be able to sleep at night."

Although Preston had shifted all the blame for Louise's death onto

Sean, did Sean really do it?

But why did Preston go to such lengths to harm Louise? Ayan still

hadn't figured out the reason behind it.

There hadn't been much interaction between Louise and Preston, so

there must be a reason and motive behind Preston's actions.

So what was the reason?

Was it also related to the Simpson family?
