Mr. CEO & I1,797 words~9 min read

This is my first book. My 15-year-old self-wanted to write my ideas and thoughts out. I hope you like it, please be constructive and give me some feedback. I have always wanted to write my own stories, so I'm really excited about writing this book. I really hope you like it. It starts of slow, but it does get better, the real drama happens in the middle of the story. So please bear with me.

It's unbelievable to think that I had manifested this very day into existence. This precise moment as I know it was the making or breaking of my career.

Getting a call this morning for an interview at Morgan limited was something that was pulled out of my day dreams as I simply couldn't comprehend how I could be considered for an interview when there are numerous other candidates hoping to get the same call and possibly position.

Me, Ava Hilson got a call from Morgan Ltd to come in for a job interview, the interview I thought I could never get but hoped for.

Excitement and anticipation were an understatement. Words could not describe how I felt within.

Knowing I still had time on my hands as I was woken early by the phone call. I decided it was best to start my day, as the saying goes 'early bird catches the worm' and I for sure wanted to catch this opportunity with both hands, maybe even with my two feet to truly secure the bag.

Perhaps I should recite what I will say in the interview. This is a once in a life-time opportunity not being prepared will be detrimental to me having a greater chance of succeeding.

Failure can not be accepted at all, not even in the slightest.

I have been waiting impatiently for a week, lo and behold the human resource manager, called and told me I had an interview this morning.

I can't believe someone as unimportant as myself had an interview with the billionaire tycoon Mr. Morgan. Me of all people could possibly be working with a well-established business known to millions of people.

Not wasting any more time, I proceeded to complete my essential morning routine, in record time I had gotten ready for my interview.

I ensured I dressed in a way that looked responsible for my possible role as Mr. Morgan's personal assistant. I did not want to give him the idea that I wasn't serious about this role from first impressions.

When I appeared outside, I was immediately welcomed by the heat I got from the sun beaming down on me, the sun was out which made my surrounding appear more brighter and, lively. I walked straight to the bus stop a little happier than usual.

Buses and taxis were my primary mode of transport as I didn't have a car and couldn't drive.

I failed my driving test twice that's how bad of I driver I was. I remember the first time I went for my driving test I nearly caused an accident. It is hilarious to look back on now but at the time it was not funny in the slightest especially the amount I had to pay for the emotional stress I had caused my driving instructor.

The second time however I thought I had gotten a little better but obviously I wasn't good enough because I didn't pass but besides it's not that big of a deal as I have other forms of transport to make use of.

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the sound of the bus stopping in front of me. I walked in paying the fair for my journey and took a seat in front of the bus. The journey consisted of fifteen minutes to arrive into the city.

When the bus came to a temporary stop I got out and walked straight to the first café I noticed. I walked in and was welcomed with the familiar smell of coffee and baked goods.

I appeared in front of a red head woman with a big smile plastered on her face. " Hello how may I help you?" she asked.

"I would like a cup of coffee to go, please" I replied returning her smile.

She came back and handed me the cup of coffee I had ordered.

I gave her money for the coffee and made my way to my interview which wasn't far from the café. Lifting my left arm, I started at the watch in on my wrist reading the time. It reassured me to know that I had approximately twenty minutes left until I had to be in the office for the interview.

There was no cause for panic as I had already reached my destination. Before taking the additional steps into the building, I stood in front of it. To say it was massive was an understatement the building stood at thirty-stories. At the very top in bold 'Morgan Ltd' was written.

Which courage decided to make my way into the daunting building. As I got in, I saw a lady sitting behind a desk. As I approached her she said "Hello welcome to Morgan Ltd. How may I be of assistance to you?" the woman asked me " I'm here for an interview " I replied back.

'Which interview would that be as there are many being held' she asked as she continued to type on her computer.

'The interview for Mr. Morgan's personal assistant'

"okay take the elevator to the 30th floor and tell the Susan who you will see when you when you are on the right floor. She will be behind an identical table to the one I'm behind. Tell her that I, Chidinma the secretary at the front desk directed you to her for the interview with Mr. Morgan" she said

"Thank you" I exclaimed as I made my way to the elevator.

I noticed there were two men already in the elevator. Seeing as I was making my way towards the direction of the elevator, one of the men held the door open for me.

'What floor are you going to?' the other man asked looking in my direction as I was in close proximity to him.

'The thirtieth floor' I replied simply.

The man proceeded to press the button for my destination.

The door opened after a while on the twenty sixth floor. The two men made their way through the doors without a word. Once they had left the door closed again and made its way to my desired floor.

I walked out of the elevator once the door had opened. I observed my surroundings, to say I was mesmerized by the site in front of me would be an understatement.

The lobby was beautiful, whoever thought of the design and positions of every item in the room has a good eye. By merely looking around it is obvious that the owner was rich, as in filthy rich, I noticed a woman with black hair sitting on the desk that was identical to the one below. The woman looked to be in deep thought as she searched for something on her computer.

As I made my way towards her desk her office phone rang causing her to peer her eyes away from her screen and answer the phone. I waited patiently for her to be done with the call she was currently on. Once she dropped the phone to its original position, I decided to explain myself.

'I am here for the interview with Mr. Morgan. I was instructed to come to this floor and speak to you'

She looked at me as if inspecting me and said 'take a seat over there Mr. Morgan will be with you shortly'

She got up from her chair and went into a room that had a plaque that read Mr. Morgan. I watched as she came out and instructed for me to enter the room.

I nervously got up from my seat and made my way to the office. I could feel the secretary burning holes into my head as she watched my every move.

Someone's a bit territorial.

I knocked on the door softly as soon as I did a voice from within instructed me to enter. As I got in, I immediately saw the man himself Mr. Morgan in the middle of the room sitting behind his desk.

Mr. Morgan impatiently cleared his throat as If annoyed that I stood there paralyzed like a complete and utter fool.

Embarrassed I closed the door and sat in front of him. To say I was smitten by his eyes were an understatement.

The man had gorgeous pair of brown eyes. On any regular joe-schmoe they would not have been this captivating but on MR. Morgan they were something else.

He also had a little stubble which I think made him look incredibly attractive he had a strong, dominate aura about him. His presence commanded the room without having to utter a single word.

He was moving his lips as if trying to say something, but I could not get myself to focus on the words he was trying to communicate to me.

He was dressed in a charcoal colored suit ironed to perfection.

Realizing I was not listening to any of his word he decided to sit there quietly on his expensive looking chair.

'You may take a seat' Mr. Morgan instructed. I had no option but to comply. I pulled out the chair in front of him and sat on it.

"Hello Mr. Morgan, my name is Ava Hilson".

He silently examines me.

" May I have your curriculum vitae"

"yes sir" I replied I opened my bag which I had placed on the floor beside me. I pulled out my curriculum vitae.

He looked in my direction from the cv I had given him. To confirm the information, he stated "you graduated from Richmond college and you graduated top in your class. Is that correct?" his tone was stern and demanded I tell the truth.

"That is correct, sir" He continued looking through my curriculum vitae. I waited with great anticipation as he microscopically scanned my resume 'Congratulations Mr. Hilson you have successfully qualified for the personal assistant role. You may begin tomorrow morning at eight am on the dot, you may leave now "

I was so overjoyed that I vocalized my excitement "Thank you so much sir" for what seemed like ten times.
