Chapter 13

Ava's Pov

"I've been looking all over for you"

I turned around to see Damien walking over to me.

"Oh hi"

"Are you doing anything on Friday evening" he asked looking hopeful

"Mmm... No, I haven't got anything planned on Friday evening...why"?

"Well.. I was wondering if you'd like to go on a second date. That's if you'd be able to of course"

Wanting to tease him a little. I responded with "I'm not sure if I'd be up for it after the last one " smiling mischievously at him.

"Was the last date that bad, I thought it went well"

"That's what you think" still keeping him in suspense.

Before he could respond I quickly said.

"No, I'm joking I enjoyed the date"

I reassured him with a smile.

"And"

"And I'll go on another date with you" I finished rolling my eyes.

"Prefect I was thinking eight, so you have time to unwind and get ready before our date" he gleefully replied.

"That's fine with me. So... where are you taking me" I said curiously.

"It's a surprise, dress casual that's all the information you're getting" was his response not saying nothing more.

"Why won't you tell me, I'll still love it anyway" I almost begged.

"You'll have to wait and find out, but for now I'm not saying a word"

He gave me a kiss on my forehead and leave while saying "see you later"

"Hey, you and Damien seem to be getting close" Susan exclaimed randomly.

"Were you watching us" I said after turning around and looking towards her direction.

"No, I was heading to the photocopy room when I saw you two" she replied hastily.

"Oh"

"You two are so cute together" she smiled but didn't quite reach her eyes.

"We aren't together" was my response

"I've only known him for a while and I'm trying to take things slow" I continued to explain to her to avoid any misconceptions.

"That kiss on the forehead didn't look like you aren't together" she cheekily smiled.

"Anyway, I have to go, I have a pile of paperwork to complete for Mr. Morgan" I dismissively said heading to my office trying not to look in Susan's direction

I could feel her eyes burning holes into my skin, but I chose to ignore it.

I got to my office door. Turning the door handle to get in.

I walked in only to see a heap of sheets on my desk.

Without wasting any more time, I immediately started working through the papers.

I scheduled appointments for Mr. Morgan and arranged files into the filing cabinet.

I looked at the clock on my wall to see it was almost five.

I was about to get up when my door flung open to reveal Susan.

"So, I was wondering what you're doing this weekend" Susan spoke before I could utter a word.

"Nothing much, I'll probably just end up sleeping in and relaxing after this week's work" I replied while getting up to grab my handbag.

"While I won two vouchers for a new spar in town and I was hoping you'd come with me"

I looked up at Susan only for her to have a hopeful look in her eyes.

"Sure, why not I'd love to and besides I've never been to one"

"Seriously how come" Susan asked looking surprised.

"Never came to mind and never really had disposable income to spend on treating myself to luxuries" I replied recalling my past.

"At least now you do" she said as we walked out of my office.

I locked my door and followed Susan to her office.

She grabbed her bag and closed her door making sure to lock it.

As we were walking out of the building, we saw the caretaker sweeping the floor.

"Hello Jeremy" Susan and I greeted in unison.

Hey girls, how have you two been doing" said the old man.

"Great, just heading home and yourself?" I asked

"I've been doing well as you can see, I'm still able to work" he said which made both Sudan and I laugh.

"That's great to hear, anyway we have to leave it was nice seeing you Jeremy" Susan replied while we both waving at him.

"So, what are you going to do when you get home" asked Susan

"Actually, I forgot to mention, Damien asked me out on a date this evening" recalling that I agreed to go on a date with him this evening.

"That's great, where is he taking you? "

" I'm not sure, he refused to tell me. He did say I should dress comfortably though" Still unable to pinpoint where he might be taking me or what we could possibly be doing at eight in the evening.

"I guess we can rule out dinner in a fancy restaurant" Susan said looking like she's in deep thought.

"I guess that can be ruled out"

"So, it's probably something casual like, the cinema or it could be something sporty. Either way you have to look cute even if it's just casual" Susan winked at me knowingly.

"I'm free this evening if you want me to come over" Susan offered

"That won't be necessary, I'm sure you'd be able to find something more worthwhile than helping me get ready"

"Seriously I have nothing else to do and besides I don't know where you live so it would nice to see your place"

"If you say so. The help would be nice" I gave in not wanting to argue any further.

"Wonderful, I'll drive behind you on the way to your house" Susan replied changing the subject.

"I don't drive, I usually take the bus to work or a taxi" I informed her

Shree t over to her car " I'll give you a ride over to your place"

I got into her car and she quickly drove out of the company parking lot.

"Nice car" I expressed, looking around.

"Thanks, I've had it for over a year now" Susan replied looking proud.

It was a small red car with white leather seats. The front seat had heating pads according to Susan, but it was too warm outside to turn it on.

I not familiar with cars so I wasn't sure what make it was, but I was about to tell it was a sports car of some sort.

I gave her the directions to my apartment, which she followed with ease. In no time we were at my place.

"I actually pass my here on my way to work, I can pick you up since you don't have a car" Susan offered taking a good look around the block.

"I wouldn't want to bother you besides I've gotten used to the bus and I'm okay taking it" I declined her offer quickly.

"Nonsense, you're on my way to work anyway it won't be a problem at all" Susan repeated not backing down.

"Thank you so much for the offer I really appreciate it" I exclaimed after seeing Susan was not taking no for an answer.

"No problem, do you have a date to prepare for or not" she said looking excited.

We both got out of the car.

I lead the way with Susan following closely beside me. I unlocked the front gate. In no time were at my apartment building.

We proceeded to walk inside. Reaching the apartment elevator. I quickly pressed the bottom for the tenth floor.

I unlocked my door and allowed Susan to enter.

"Sorry for the mess, left in a hurry this morning" I apologized looking around my apartment.

"You call this mess; you should see my house" was her response.

"You have alovely place" Susan looked around admiring my apartment
