Ava's pov
The rest of game's night was uneventful. There was tension left in the air from the havoc Miranda caused.
She really changed the atmosphere of the room, we continued to eat and play games, but you could sense anxiety and uncertainty in the room.
We decided to watch Lion King since Madagascar got the least number of votes. I honestly don't know how, Madagascar is better especially when they went to the motherland, Africa.
I've been lazy all day, I woke up extremely exhausted from the events of last night. Miranda's threat has had me fearing for my life. I didn't want to know what she had up her sleeve or what she was going to do to me. Miranda isn't the type of person you should cross.
I couldn't care less about her antics, but something about her tone of voice is telling me to watch my back and be alert at all times.
I may even have to sleep with one eye open.
I decided to put on a movie on Netflix, in an attempt to clear my head. I scroll through but nothing caught my attention.
I settled on YouTube instead. As I was scrolling through it, I saw that 'jubilee' had posted a video titled '6 Jewish vs 1 non-Jewish'.
I honestly love watching these series on their channel. I've only ever guessed one correctly, which was '6 Christians vs 1 secret atheist' I could tell from the jump who wasn't Christian.
'Ding' I heard a notification, indicating that someone had texted me.
I picked up my phone not forgetting to pause the video while I did so. I looked at my phone only to see a text from Damien saying he was on his way over here.
In a panic, I quickly got out of bed and tried to clean up the mess I had created. I wasn't expecting anyone, so I didn't bother myself with cleaning.
I picked up the clothes I wore last night off the ground, I put them into my washing basket. I grabbed the hover and started cleaning of the dirt that was on the floor.
While I was doing so, I opened the window to let some fresh air in since it was slightly congested in here. I sprayed some air freshener around my apartment.
I quickly removed my clothes and changed into something more presentable.
Luckily, I had already taken a shower earlier in the morning so I didn't have to.
I heard my phone go off, I picked it up and it read; ' I'm at your apartment entrance buzz me in'
I buzzed him and made sure everything was in its place.
After a while I heard a knock on the door. I opened it to see a smiley Damien with a few snacks in his hands.
'I thought I'd come by and spend some time with you' Damien exclaimed as I let him in. I closed the door after he was in. I got the snacks from him and placed them on my coffee table in the living room where the rest of last night's snacks were.
There was so much food left from last night, I gave some of what was left to everyone when it was time to leave. There were a few non-perishable items, I left in the office kitchen for lunch time.
'So what movie are we watching' Damien asked while making himself more comfortable on my couch.
'Mmm, I was watching a video on YouTube, but we can watch a movie on Netflix' I suggested.
I put on Netflix on my television, which stood on the wall in my sitting room.
'So, what movie do you want to watch?' I asked while flicking through what was available on Netflix.
'How about that?' Damien pointed at the screen.
'Dead to me?' I said.
'Yes, it looks interesting. I wonder what it's about' Damien continued genuinely looking intrigued.
'Okay, but it's not a movie and season two just came out' I said while I clicked on it.
I dropped the remote on the coffee table and asked, 'would you like anything, like popcorn?'
'Yes please' he said as he got more comfortable on my couch.
I walked over to the kitchen and put the popcorn in the microwave waiting for it to finish. I stood in the kitchen looking into space and all that could be heard was the microwave and the sound of the television in the other room.
'I am no done with you' Miranda's voice echoed through my mind. The look on her face matched the venom in her voice.
She meant every word of what she said but the question is how far would she actually go? She claims I am a nobody compared to her and yet she is threatening my life. Make it make sense.
'Ding' the sound of the microwave broke my train of thought. I opened it to retrieve the bag of popcorn. I grabbed a bowl on my way out of the kitchen heading towards the living room.
Damien was engrossed in the show. I placed the bowl on the coffee table beside him and poured the popcorn into it.
Placing the empty bag on the table while I sat beside him. The show looked interesting so far.
'She went to therapy because she just found out her husband was killed in a hit and run. She meets this woman in her new support group, who won't leave her alone' Damien explained while continuing to watch.
'Hit and run? That's a horrible way to die, that would be my worst nightmare if I was in either positions' I voiced out but mainly to myself.
I was eventually getting into the show when suddenly it was paused, I looked at Damien only to see him with the remote in his hand.
'Why did you pause it? it was getting good' I exclaimed with a slight bit of annoyance in my voice.
'Do you have a permit' Damien asked completely ignoring my question.
I shook my head, yes.
'Good, you are going for a driving lesson today' Damien said as if he just came up with a bright idea.
'Says who, I want to have a lazy day today. I'm really not in the mode' I protested, not seeing what benefit a driving lesson can do for me right now.
'Come on it would be fun; it can be our little thing on Sundays' Damien pleaded trying to convince me to change my mind.
I looked at him, contemplating my answer. I was begging myself to say no but the look on his face was making my decision extremely difficult. I've failed my driving tests in the past, since so many failed attempts I haven't been taking it serious.
'Okay sure, let's do it'
' Great, wear comfortable shoes' he suggested as he got up from the couch.
'So much for a lazy day' I thought while getting up to get my shoes that were in my bedroom.
We made it to my apartment complex parking space, where Damien's car was parked.
'Here is the key, your first task is to start the car' Damien ordered not giving me any chance to protest.
'Right, okay' I breathed. This part wasn't what I was scared of, I was truly afraid of turning. That has always been one of my difficulties when learning how to drive. I would think I was getting the hang of it, then I'd be asked to turn and that's when issues arose.
I opened the car door with the key he gave me, I waited for him to enter before starting the engine. As I was pulling out of the parking space, the alarm started going off.
'Seat belt' Damien exclaimed.
I faced palmed myself, feeling utterly stupid. Of course, I forget one of the most important steps that can literally determine life or death if faced with an accident.
I put on my seat belt and started the car again. I drove straight out of the parking space and joined the main road.
So far, there was no need to turn so I was able to handle the car.
'Remember to stay calm and focused, you are controlling the car, the car isn't controlling you' Damien reassured in a calm manner.
'You are going to take a right up ahead, relax and turn the car into the other road' he continued with the same tone.
'Okay, okay I can do this. It's not as scary as I think. It's just a little turn, it's nothing I'm not capable of' I tried reassuring myself.
'Turn now' Damien instructed
I slowly turned the steering wheel.
'You're doing great, continue'
I turned the steering wheel again slightly, once I felt it was the right time. I turned the steering wheel back to its original position.
I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding.
'You did it' Damien exclaimed, I looked over to him and said ' yes I did'
'You did' he said again looking like a proud father.
'I want you to continue driving straight, then park in front of that red car over there' he pointed at a red ford on my left. I did as he asked. Making sure we were in a good position for when we are leaving.
'Why do you want us to park here' I asked quizzically.
'I want to show you something' he replied simply not giving anything away. He opened his door and got himself out.
'What is it?' I asked while following suit.
'I want to show you this' he pointed at an enormous building. As I looked at it, I saw desks and chairs through the glass windows, it was about twenty stories.
It looked similar to my place of work but smaller.
'This is my office; I own this place. I am the majority shareholder as well as the CEO. I recently established it over a year ago. Mr. Morgan is also a shareholder in this company'
'Would you like to come in' he asked looking at me, patiently waiting for my answer.
'Yes' was my only response.
He held out his hand for me to take. Which I did. We walked over to the building which by the looks of it looked completely empty with no soul in sight.
Damien took out his phone and called a four-digit number, in no time the gate was opened. We walked in ensuring that the gate was closed behind us.
I looked up to observe the place better. On top of the building it read 'Perk Enterprise'
Damien reaches into his pocket and took out his keys. He placed one of the keys in the door beside the rotating doors.
Once it was open, he let me in before coming in himself. He locked the door after him. I stood there looking around my surroundings. The place was beautiful, I thought.
Not a single thing was out of place. As usual there was a front desk for the receptionist. A chandelier on the roof in the middle of the room.
There was also an escalator instead of an elevator which I thought suited the building. The whole place was made of glass, so it was easy to see in and out.
'You have got a really nice place here' I spoke after a while still observing my surrounds.
'Thank you, I've wanted to bring you here for a while now. I didn't want to do so when there were people in the building' Damien explained.
He grabbed my other hand and said ' I don't want there to be any secrets between us. I want to be an open book when it comes to you'
'I know this is soon, but I have genuine feelings for you' he confesses.
I stood there speechless. I knew he was attracted to me but, the look on his eyes was enough to tell me he wanted more, and I don't know how to deal with that.
Suddenly he leaned closer to me. Realizing what was going on I said ' is that an escalator' I almost screeched pulling away from him slightly.
Upon realizing my action, he pulled back looking slightly hurt. He shakes his head and responds 'eh yes, I thought I'd put that instead of an elevator since some people are afraid of elevators' he explained.
'Very thoughtful of you' I exclaimed with a smile trying to lightly the atmosphere.
He shrugged his shoulders and looks around as if avoiding my gaze.
'Can I see upstairs' I asked desperate to clear the air.
'Sure, you can' Damien spoke while he directed me to the escalator.
Damien was about to turn it on when I said ' there is no need we can walk up as you do with stairs'
