Chapter 112
Trapped in Love
Chapter 113 What Is She Trying to Do
Caroline put down her phone, her expression displeased. She wondered, âWhat the heck is
Daniella trying to do?â
While Daniella often knew things, Caroline couldnât understand why she chose to share this
information with her.
The location of Dylanâs Cafe on Sail Road was usually busy, so Caroline assumed that Daniella
wouldnât cause any trouble in public, despite her boldness.
By the time Caroline finished handling her matters, it was already 7:30 p.m. She waited for Evan to
return home for half an hour, but he didnât show up. Concerned, she headed to Lilyâs room.
Noticing the light on from under the door, Caroline knocked, and Lily opened it promptly.
âWhy are you still awake?â Lily asked while getting a glass of water for Caroline.
Caroline pursed her lips and replied, âIâll be heading out tomorrow, Lily.â
âAway?â Lily seemed surprised. âArenât you worried about those two families?â
âI am,â Caroline said. âAnd I was planning on telling Evan, but heâs still not home. I donât think heâll be
back tonight.â
Lily sighed. âMr. Jordanâs expression didnât look right when he left this morning.â
Caroline wasnât overly concerned about Evanâs whereabouts. She was troubled by what Daniella
might reveal the next day.
After informing Lily, Caroline returned to her room, charged her voice recorder, washed up, and
went to sleep.
The next morning, Caroline woke up to her alarm clock. She went downstairs after getting ready and
was met by Lily.
âOh, Carol. Mr. Jordan didnât come back last night.â
Caroline nodded. âItâs fine. Iâll get in touch with him later.â
Lily didnât say more, and Caroline left the house after breakfast, using a rideâshare service to head
to the cafe
She found Daniella sitting leisurely by herself on the second floor, sipping water next to a window.
Caroline turned on the voice recorder in her pocket and sat down across from Daniella.

Daniella glanced at her and said, âOrder whatever you want.â
Caroline signaled the waitress and ordered a glass of lemonâinfused water. She asked coldly, âTell me
what you know.â
âDonât rush it,â Daniella replied, placing her glass down. âLetâs discuss the terms first.â
Caroline inquired, âIs it to get me to leave Evan?â
âYes.â Daniella nodded. âYouâve been through hardships before, so you know the consequences of
provoking the two families.â
âDo you think theyâll stop targeting me if I leave?â Caroline asked calmly.
Daniellaâs expression turned slightly gloomy. âYou donât sound like youâre planning to leave.â
Caroline took a sip of water and replied, âAfter weighing the pros and cons, Iâve concluded that being
with him provides the greatest level of protection for my children.â
Caroline was observing Daniellaâs expression and was taken aback when she smirked.
Feeling uncertain about Daniellaâs intentions, Caroline grew restless. She asked with a serious
expression, âArenât you planning to tell me?â
Suddenly, Carolineâs vision swayed twice, and her voice faded. She grabbed the table to steady
herself and shook her head.
âIt seems to be taking effect rather quickly.â Daniella smirked coldly.
Caroline widened her eyes, looking at Daniella in shock. âWhat did you do?â
Daniella stood up, approached Caroline slowly, and leaned over. âDo you think youâre safe because
youâre in public? Itâs a waste that I switched out the staff of this cafe with Master Jordanâs help
last nightâ¦â
