Chapter 207
Trapped in Love
Chapter 209 Trying to Cause Trouble Again
Neil picked up the sobbing Liora, patted her back patiently, and asked, âIs that true, Carol?â
Caroline lowered her gaze. âYesâ
Neil asked, âWhat is the reason?â
Caroline pondered for a long time, yet she was clueless. âI donât know.â
âCaroline, rushing wonât help. If Evan still has feelings for you, he wonât stay distant forever. You canât
have Axelâs custody since Evan raised him,â Neil said directly. âAlso, facing Evanâs influence in
Angelbay, winning the lawsuit is unlikely.â
Caroline clenched her fists tightly, thinking. Is there really no other way?â
Caroline felt heartbroken when she thought about Axelâs sad face and quietness earlier.
All of a sudden, Tyler ran downstairs and took Carolineâs hand âCome with me, Mommy.â
Caroline followed Tyler upstairs in confusion and saw Axelâs face on the laptop screen after
entering the room.
She hastily called out, âMy precious!â
Axelâs dim eyes lit up at the sight of Caroline. âMommy.â
Caroline felt the urge to cry. âIs your daddy giving you a hard time, my precious?â
âNo.â Axel shook his head. âYour eyes are red. Mommy.â
Caroline said, âIâm fine. Dust got into my eyes.â
Tyler exposed her. âMommy misses you and doesnât want to be away from you
Axel was stunned. Soon after, he smiled faintly. âHmm, I miss Mommy, too.â
Tears welled up in Carolineâs eyes. She turned her head and let them fall.
Axel said comfortingly, âDonât be sad, Mommy. We can still keep in touch, and Iâll figure out a way
to see you when Daddy is in a better mood.â
Tyler leaned close to the screen and said, âLeave Mommy to me, Axel. Donât worry!â
Axel said, âAlright, I shall go offline then. Good night, Mommy, Ty.â
He then ended the video call.
Tyler hugged Caroline to comfort her.

At 9:30 p.m., Caroline put the two children to bed before she headed downstairs to talk to Neil.
Neil brought up the conversation after noticing that Caroline had calmed down. âCarol, I took it upon
myself to give a copy of the voice clip to Wayne, and he went looking for Grandpa.â
Caroline took a sip of juice. She was well aware of her brotherâs collection of voice clips.
âIf my guess is right, he got the money,â Caroline said.
âYes. However, Grandpa sent someone to kill him, and I donât think he can get away.â Neil replied.
Carolineâs hand, gripping the glass, trembled. âIs he trying to stir up trouble once more?â
âI bear half of the responsibility in this case. I figured out the ending but didnât stop. In fact, I
facilitated it.â
In other words, he got someone else to do his dirty work
âNeil. I know you did it out of kind intention, but donât do this anymore, okay?â Caroline looked at
him solemnly
âI donât want you to get your hands dirty like him. Even though Wayne is detestable, there are other
ways to deal with him.â
Neilâs gaze turned gentle. âCarol, I promise I wonât do it again.â
Caroline turned her gaze away, her unease growing. The thought of someone dying due to something
she set in motion unsettled her. She firmly believed in just punishment for wrongdoing, not unchecked
killing. Moreover, the person involved was Lilyâs own son.
