Chapter 221 Are You Alright

Kenny asked Caroline upon her return to the car, “How was it? Is she sentenced?”

Caroline put on her seatbelt. “It’s not that easy.”

The next day, Naomi came to the hospital to seek Caroline’s signatures for some documents. She

brought a fruit basket as well.

Caroline accepted the gift and placed it on the bedside table. “Thank you. Remember to follow up

on the factory in the next two days and update me if there is any information.”

Naomi nodded. “Sure. Ms. Shenton. Please check through these two documents and sign them.”

Caroline examined the documents closely.

After a while, Paige entered the room. “I’m here, Carol.”

Caroline glanced at Paige and nodded. ‘Please hold on while 1 sign these documents.”

“Go ahead “Paige took a seat and used her phone.

Ten minutes later, Caroline went through the documents and said with a frown, “Who drew this

sketch?”

Naomi glanced at it and answered, “The person the VP hired.”

Caroline said, “Does she think that she can deceive us by making slight changes to MK’s design from

six years ago?”

Paige’s interest was piqued when Caroline mentioned MK. She put down her phone and came

closer. ‘Let me see.”

Caroline passed the design sketch to her.

at one glance. You can’t keep this person on your team, Carol.”

Caroline nodded and looked at Naomi. “Send this design sketch to Kenny. He will handle his own

subordinates. Everything else is fine, but we will need to confirm it in a meeting.”

Naomi took the documents. “Yes, Ms. Shenton. I shall head back now.”

Caroline checked her watch. “You haven’t had your lunch yet, right?”

Naomi turned around. “Yes.”

Caroline looked at Paige, and the latter said before Caroline could say something. “Go ahead. I’m on

a diet now, so I’m grabbing a wholemeal sandwich

Excitedly, she opened a game on her phone.

Caroline left the hospital with Naomi in search of a restaurant to eat at and said, “There’s a diner

opposite the Grand East Hospital Will that be fine?”

Naomi said, ‘You decide, Ms. Shenton. A freeloader doesn’t refuse food.”

Caroline sniggered as Naomi’s unexpected sense of humor caught her off guard.

“Your words don’t match your expression.”

Caroline and Naomi crossed the road. As they neared the opposite side, a white sedan sped toward

them.

A passerby exclaimed, “Move! The car’s coming at you!”

Hearing this, Caroline saw the sedan heading straight for her and Naomi.

In the next instant, Naomi threw herself toward Caroline.

A loud crash followed shortly.

Caroline raised her eyes and saw the white VW Santana crash into the diner.

Piercing screams filled the air.

Naomi stood up and gazed at Caroline with concern. “Are you okay, Ms. Shenton?”
