Chapter 262
Trapped in Love
Chapter 262 No News at All
Naomi remained composed, her response a simple, âHmm.
Paige was at a loss for words. Why had Naomi replied so briefly?
Paige desired to hear more from Naomi, hoping to uncover any flaws in her reasoning.
Naomi concealed her emotions effectively.
Alex was also speechless. He had reminded Paige not to dwell on it right now, but she did the
opposite. âHow forgetful! he thought.
Caroline joined in and asked Naomi, âDid you manage to reach Kenny?â
Naomiâs reply was concise, âNo.â
Paige was stunned, blurting out, âWhatâs wrong with Kenny?â
Caroline clarified, âHe turned off his phone on the day of the accident. I havenât received any
updates from him yet.
Paige widened her eyes, thinking. Could it be Kenny? If not, why would he turn off his phone?
Alex sneered at Paige, sarcastically wondering. Does this fool doubt Kenny now?â
Caroline pondered, I intentionally raised that question. Didnât Paige catch on?â
Alex chimed in. âItâs always the people closest to us who are the most difficult to understand.â
Caroline concurred, signing the contract and handing two copies to Alex. âMr. Price, here are two
copies. Please excuse me, I have other matters to attend to. I hope we have a pleasant
collaboration.â
Alex nodded, and before departing, Paige hastily added, âCarol, 111 get in touch with you when Iâm
available.â
Caroline replied, âOkay.â
After their departure, Paige glared at Alex. âIt cost a fortune! Why didnât you negotiate a lower price?â
Alex replied, âConsider it fortunate that I didnât raise the price. If you donât believe me, go check.

Paige pursed her lips. âNever m

I have enough on my plate already. I donât want to fuss over
Alex smiled and asked, âAre you suspicious of Kenny?â

âYeah!â Paige sighed. âI find his behavior odd. Itâs hard to predict!â
Alex smiled quietly.

In the afternoon, at MK.
Alex handed the contract to Evan. âHere, weâve signed the contract.â
Evan gave a brief response before picking up the contract. As he read further, his expression grew
darker. âParty B will be responsible for the workersâ salaries during the collaboration. And the half-
year rent is one million dollars?â
In frustration, Evan tossed the contract onto the desk and glared at Alex. âWhy did you agree to
such terms? Itâs unjust!â
Alex shrugged innocently. âMs. Shenton is clever. She likely guessed that you were the one who
recommended me for this collaboration, so all the terms aim to distance her from you.
Evan sneered. He had no need for her money.
âDid she mention anything else?â Evan asked in frustration, tugging at his tie
âWhat else was there to say?â Alex replied. âI believe this arrangement benefits both of you.â
Evan inquired, âWhat are you trying to imply?â
Intrigued by Evanâs question, Alex leaned in and said mysteriously, âThe other day, when you ended up
with a bruised face, was it because of Neil?â
He suspected as much.
Although Neil and Evan were childhood friends who rarely communicated, they had grown up
together. Evan couldnât tolerate Neil trying to steal his woman. It made sense that they would
confront each other.
Evanâs expression darkened. âAre you asking to get beaten up too?â
Alex was at a loss for words, thinking, I guessed right.â
Clearing his throat, Alex changed the subject. âI wonât beat around the bush. Hereâs an objective
analysis. She severed ties with you to avoid making Neil jealous.â
Evan exuded a cold demeanor. âThen why didnât she go to Neil instead?â
Alex explained, âHe doesnât own a clothing factory, and no one dares to operate in your territory.â
