Daniella stated, “Evan and I were engaged, but we’ve since separated.”

Casey briefly appeared shocked, causing Daniella to grow anxious.

each other,” he said.

whatever you wish. But there’s a condition. We need to sign a contract first.”

“What kind of contract?” Jade asked.

Checking her watch nonchalantly, Caroline elaborated, “Nothing too complex. Just a contract that

confirms I’ve bought the house for you. Of course, your name can appear on the property deed. It’s just

a precaution, so you can’t claim later on that I didn’t fulfill my promise of buying you a house.
