Jamie’s body shook violently, prompting Caroline to embrace her while she gazed in astonishment

toward the restaurant’s entrance.

This reaction from Jamie occurred after she had spotted a man who had already left.

Caroline didn’t dwell on it too much. She was accustomed to Jamie relapsing whenever she

encountered other men.

Not far away, in a parked car, Casey stared at Jamie with a cold, calculating look. He recognized

the woman beside Jamie as Evan’s former mistress.

With a sneer, Casey removed his glasses and leisurely cleaned the lenses. He hadn’t anticipated

that Caroline would still be alive.

A moment later, Casey put his glasses back on, and his phone began to ring. He glanced at the caller

ID and saw it was Daniella, so he answered slowly.

Daniella’s voice was gentle as she inquired, “Are you available tonight, Mr. Jordan? Can I treat you

to a drink?”

Casey smirked. “Sure, send me the address. I’ll be there”

At 7:30 p.m., Casey and Daniella met at a hotel’s bar.

Casey greeted Daniella with a gracious smile. “My apologies for keeping you waiting.”

Daniella looked up and responded with a sweet smile upon seeing Casey. “I just arrived myself.”

Casey took off his jacket and settled into his seat. “You seem to be in high spirits, Ms. Love. However, I

must confess I’m not much of a drinker. I’m afraid I might spoil your mood.”

Daniella was pleasantly surprised, thinking, ‘Not being a good drinker is exactly what I had in

mind!‘

Tonight, she had two objectives. Firstly, she wanted to understand why Casey seemed displeased

when Evan’s name came up earlier. Secondly, she aimed to advance their relationship.

She wouldn’t have rushed into this if Grayson hadn’t been pointing out her flaws so often lately.

Daniella said kindly, “Don’t worry, Mr. Jordan. It’s my oversight for not checking your preferences

beforehand.”

Casey smiled, reached for the bottle on the table, and poured a glass for Daniella. “You’re a lady, so

why should you care about a man’s thoughts, Ms. Love? I’ll be alright as long as you’re okay with

He handed the glass to Daniella and picked up his own. “Ms. Love, I feel fortunate to have met you.”

Daniella blushed. “Me too…”

After a few drinks, Casey began to struggle with the alcohol, but Daniella continued to pour for

him.

With a sly grin, Danielle watched as Casey started dozing off in his chair. She got up and

supported Casey by his arm. “You’ve had a bit too much to drink, Mr. Jordan. May I escort you to

rest?”

Casey nodded weakly. “Sure…”

Daniella assisted Casey, and they stumbled out of the bar before taking the elevator to a hotel

suite.

Upon entering the room, Casey suddenly stopped walking and spoke dazedly. “Do you know what kind

of life is the most painful to live, Ms. Love?”

Daniella purposely changed the subject. “You’re quite intoxicated, Mr. Jordan. Let’s focus on getting

you some rest, shall we?”

Casey pulled Daniella into his arms and burrowed his head in the crevice of Daniella’s neck.

He spoke solemnly. “Did you know my siblings and father sent me away from the country for 15 years?

It was because of a mistake i committed unintentionally.”

Daniella’s eyes glistened. “Don’t be sad, Mr. Jordan I’ll keep you company, okay?”

Casey took a deep breath. “Evan’s mother clearly seduced me, yet I am the one receiving all the

criticism!”

Daniella was shocked to learn that Evan’s mother had seduced Casey.

I’m a little confused, Mr. Jordan…”

Casey smiled self–deprecatingly and shared the story of his encounter with Evan’s mother.
