Chapter 372
Trapped in Love
Chapter 372 Nothing More Than a Pawn
Draco laughed loudly. âAlright then. This woman means nothing to you.â
He fixed his gaze on Caroline and spoke slowly. âDid you catch that, Caroline? Youâre nothing more
than his pawn, someone heâll discard once heâs done using you! Your love doesnât matter to him.
âWhy did you try to gain his favor by revealing his motherâs situation? If you were to disappear
now, heâd barely spare you a second thought!â
Caroline looked back at Draco, her voice hoarse. âArenât you the one who should feel sad? Evanâs
mother grew tired of explaining herself because your family never believed in others. What else
was left for her to clarify?â
Draco frowned. âWhatâs so sad about me?â
Caroline sneered. âIsnât it sad that you forgave your own son when he slept with your wife?â
Draco slapped Caroline as her voice trailed off. âYour wish will be granted today since you seem so
eager to die!â
He seized a bodyguardâs gun and aimed it at Carolineâs head.
Evanâs eyes widened in shock, and fear overwhelmed him. He was about to step forward when a
voice from the door stopped him.
âStop!â
Everyone turned to see Neil standing at the doorway, his expression grave.
Neil rushed to Carolineâs side, his actions hesitant as he observed her beaten body.
Tears welled up in Carolineâs eyes as she looked at Neil. âI want to go home, Neilâ¦â
Her voice barely reached his ears.
Neil teared up, holding back his emotions. âOf course, let me take you home,â he said shakily.
Scooping Caroline into his arms, he glared at Draco. âMr. Jordan, todayâs events have intensified
our conflict. Iâll deal with you in due time.â
Neil turned to leave, and Draco dismissed the bodyguards despite the their intentions to stop him.
He hadnât expected Neilâs intervention.
The Xander family held even more power in Angelbay than the Jordan family. Draco had to
consider becoming a target if he confronted Neil now. He couldnât risk becoming enemies over a
woman.
+15 BONUS Draco signaled to his subordinates, and they brandished their firearms, aiming them at
Caroline.
Draco grumbled, âIf you dare lay a finger on Casey, Iâll kill this woman right now!â
Carolineâs body tensed. She glanced at Evan, only to be met with his distant gaze.
Caroline felt dejected and frowned. âHas he given up on me?â
Evan sneered, locking eyes with Draco. âMark my words, I no longer have any vulnerabilities. Why
should her survival concern me?â
Carolineâs mind went blank. âWhat did he say again? My survival isnât his concern?â
Tears welled up in Carolineâs eyes, and her heart ached. âSo, heâs not here to save me. Heâs here to
seek revenge for his mother.â Caroline smiled bitterly. I shouldnât have expected anything different.â
Carolineâs heart sank as hope slipped away.
Evanâs heart also clenched painfully as he witnessed the light in Carolineâs eyes extinguish.

Evan clenched his fists as Neil carried Caroline away, his anger simmering. He eventually turned and
walked out of the living room.
They left Jordan Residence one after the other.
Neil placed Caroline in the car and then turned to see Evan leaving the residence. He clenched his
fists, approached Evan with bloodshot eyes, and punched him.
âEvan! Are you blind to Carolineâs condition?â Neil was furious, his usual composure gone.
Evan wiped away the blood from his lips and looked at Neil coldly. âWhy donât you ask Caroline
why she brought my mother into this mess?â
Neil retorted, âDo you really think Caroline would do that?â
âI trust my own judgment.â Evan replied, moving closer to Neil.
They locked eyes, glaring at each other.
âDonât act like you know her better than I do. Sheâs been with me much longer than with you!â
Neil wanted to strike Evan again, but Julian intervened.
