Caroline said, âAngelbay is such a big city, so itâs common for information to slip out during
interactions.â
Neil still had a sense that something wasnât right. After all, they had instructed the employees not to
reveal the 100thâanniversary celebration until a decision was made.
Did Scott really find out about it from the nurses?
Neil brushed the thought aside. âWhat are your thoughts on the 100thâanniversary celebration?â
âHmm, I plan to discuss it with Daniella during the event. I couldnât do it on two previous occasions, so I
refuse to believe I canât succeed on the third attempt,â Caroline replied.
Neil sighed. âI hope so. I have to admit, Daniella is quite fortunate.â
Caroline sneered. âSooner or later, shell face the consequences of her actions!â
At the hospital.
Reuben handed a folder to Evan. Seeing Axel asleep, he whispered, âThis contains the call records
between Finn and the employee over the last four months, sir. Iâve highlighted the suspicious areas.â
Evan took it and examined the information closely.
Evanâs demeanor turned cold after reviewing Finnâs call records. âHave you checked the numbers
marked
in red ink?â
Reuben confirmed, âYes, those are all either invalid or disconnected numbers.â
Evan remarked, âHe received calls from these random numbers, yet he spent more than three minutes
on
each conversation.â
Reuben explained, âYes, sir. It suggests that someone intentionally used untraceable numbers and
software, anticipating our investigation, just like with the employee.â
Evan handed the folder back to Reuben. âDid you bring the employee here?â
Reuben nodded. âYes, heâs in the office. Would you like to meet him now, sir?â
Evan closed his laptop, stood up, and instructed, âStay here and keep an eye on Axel.â
Reuben complied. âYes, sir.â

Five minutes later, Evan reached the hospital office, where Julian greeted him respectfully. âThe person
is
inside, sir.â
Julian opened the door, and Evan entered the office. The employee, Roman Yoder, was tied to a chair
and
immediately turned to look at him.
Roman appeared terrified, his face pale. âMr⦠Mr. Jordan.â
kor
Evan menacingly glanced at him and took a seat. âShould I ask, or are you going to explain yourself?â
Romanâs entire body trembled. âMr. Jordan, I donât know what you want to askâ¦â
Evan stared at him wickedly and leaned back in his chair slowly. âYou donât know?â
Roman nodded, anxiety etched on his face. âI genuinely donât know, Mr. Jordan. Iâve always been
diligent
in my work and havenât done nothing wrongâ
Evan sneered. âSo, you believe this is merely a workârelated matter?
Roman appeared astonished. âWhat other reason could there be, Mr. Jordan?â
Evan narrowed his eyes. âIf youâre testing my patience, I wouldnât mind sending someone to fetch your
elderly mother and your threeâyearâold daughter.â
Roman pleaded anxiously, âMr. Jordan, if you have questions, please ask. But please, spare my family
from harm!â
âI simply want you to talk without me having to prompt you. Different situations yield different outcomes.
You have one minute to reconsider.â
Roman replied, âIâm not a clever man, Mr. Jordan. I honestly donât understand why youâve brought me
here.
as a captive!â
